I mean they had very little in the way of quick and reliable access to medicine/treatment, no way to communicate long distances, bad oral hygiene and little creature comforts. Can you imagine having a toothache back then and not really being able to do anything about it other than extracting that tooth or just dealing with it?

Well, if you consider that freedom, then you could still technically do this today, except your predators would be both animals and some hostile people who may have modern weapons on them.

When I went to school I’d get on the bus but when I got off there was a Labrador. Always waiting for me to get off the bus and walk me home and as I got in my home I looked out the window and just see the dog sitting there waiting for me as if I was gonna come back out this dog did this every single day. She didn’t have a name but I named her Stella. I would go out side feed her play with her and I found out she’s passed. Never take dogs for granted they are really loyal and caring

I love that they studied wolf behavior to actually make it look real, although wolves don’t growl/snark at their prey. I still applaud.

you're right they don't do that to prey and they also don't just trot up to prey like that either. Maybe the pack just thought they were a threat, hence the snarling

Dr Derplington I agree horses are more important than dogs but if we never domesticated dogs our early ancestors would have had a hard time combating the carnivores like bears and wolves which would lead to a slower win on our part. And that would mean we wouldn’t be as technologically advanced as we are today if we did not have dogs back then to help us secure our spot.

3:01 In this scene you can see in his eyes that he understands the pain of being separated from his family, so he lets alpha go to his family even though he knows it would be painful to let her go.

When the Wolf looked back, it was like it was saying or asking "Hey Brotha, I love my pack of wolves family and all but.... Are you cool if I go?" Such a freaking awesome moment and scene right there. 🤜🏾🔥🤛🏻

I wonder if the Black wolf was Alpha’s mate, since she had a black pup towards the end of the movie....even though any wolf could’ve possessed a melanistic gene.

Yes, the black wolf was the alpha male of the wolf pack while Alpha was the alpha female so he was her mate.

I saw it once when I was fishing for salmon in Alaska. They actually scavenge off the dead salmon who spawn.
