Alors on Danse | Stromae | TEDxBrussels
Ойын-сауық
Stromae is a singer-songwriter of Belgian-Rwandan origin. He became famous "overnight" in 2009 when the music manager of NJR aired his first single. In a matter of weeks the sales of the album rose to number one in Belgium, and by May 2010 it reached number one in several countries.
At TEDx Brussels he presented the procedure of the building up of his songs.

I'm French, and I noticed most French-speaking people are ashamed of their English. I don't really know why, it's the like the way we're taught English teaches us that we'll never be good at it and we should be ashamed of it o.o Or maybe it's just that we don't get to practice it a lot, since French is spoken in a lot of countries.
@romainleonardy9380

Petite Plume it is because english people spoke french for 500 years until the beginning of the 19th century; and still speaks it well enough. french people are just bad at english, so it is something to be a shamed of if the worst enemy you had had in history speaks your language better than the other way round :) btw I am french too :P
@quai-du-regard

Lord Blubb I think it's just cause of the English teachers in France (Belgique too ? I don't know) , who are obsessed with "good pronunciation" - so lot of French people have learn English during ... maybe 10 years, and instead of have learn to speak, to be curious, to say what they want, what they like, what they think, they just heard they can't speak english cause they can't speak it "well", which means each years they learn the same things with the same french accent and hear this one is not "THE GOOD ONE", even if we all know that its a lie, 'cause there's no good one, there are lot of different accents around the world.
@shawod3
9 жыл бұрын
It is mainly because english is not properly taught and learnt. Few efforts are made on both ways, there are no skilled english teachers (that have a degree or something in the language) until highschool, and a lot of students are not interested/ do not make efforts to dive in. And the french accent is terrible...
@arovetlefol260
9 жыл бұрын
shawod3 What do you mean "the French accent is terrible" ??? Of course it is, and I'm sure the Chinese one is awesome, the Russian one is wonderful ... We've all grown up in a very specific place, I do really not understand what is the matter with French people or French accent ôO - My best english teacher was Irish and he has a wonderfull Irish accent, and he does a lot of mistakes when he speaks French... and he say "J'm'en fous" ("I don't give a fuck") like : "I'm not French, I don't want to speak like a French man, it has no sense - but when I have something to say, I say it, cause this has a sense"
I love the way he switches between English and French whenever he feels like it...it's done so smoothly you hardly even notice when you understand both languages. I love love love how he also did tutorials as a speech on TedTalk...that's so cool

Albert Hofmann maybe he doesn't speak English the whole time because he does not have to, I mean it clearly says tedex Brussels, which is in Belgium and their first language is French, therefore the language you should expect to hear is French, at least he was trying to speak a foreign language so that people from other countries could understand what he is saying. And Bill said it is good, he did not say your English is perfect. You try to speak French or Spanish or Russian or whatever in front of hundreds of people

It's true this isn't a lesson in hip hop --- but Stromae can rap though. When he first started out, a lot of his music was more like hip hop. Like "J'ai Pas C'Qu'il Faut". And more recently "Humain a l'eau". He mixes a lot of styles in his music including hip hop; but "Alors On Danse" is not the best example.

Marisol Luna c'est lorsque quand il n'était pas connu ;)
I completely appreciate TedX's commitment to its communities, but moreso Stromae's commitment to his art, his process, and to the engagement of his networks. Wonderful presentation.
His English is good.

Yes you Can : Jacques Brel, Lara Fabian, et maintenant Stromae ! 👏
I love him so much.. fell in love with him when I went to Lille for the first time.
My first ever TED video where people are raving 😅
The best teacher is not always called maestro,sometimes he is called Stromae.
That music is litterally irresistible... but lyrics are not to be left aside. Full of strong concepts and ideas... about family, parenthood, marriage/divorce, violence and abuse against women, "overpricing" of money and finance, feminity and its image in society, uniformity and resemblance of individuals, citizenship in an ever-changing world, etc. Aside from his musical creations, he also is graphic designer and architect with creations already participating in urban projects of the future Paris (and suburb). If an artist can be given a forefront place in this young century... that's him.
This guy is awesome
He is my favourite singer. I have his albums. I listen his songs every day. Thanks for everything Stromae. I love you so much. 😊💙
My goal for the end of 2019 is to fully understand the lyrics of the song by learning French - STROMAE ( THE GOAT 🐐)
Stromae - the maestro of crowd control ✌🏾
This guy makes me smile from a genuine place!
Amazing young man.. A new, wonderful, type of human!!🙃
I love him so much he's such an amazing and down to earth artist and I feel he's widely underrated internationally

Rhetorical question right? :)
He always says his English is bad. I’ve heard him before in an interview say he only speaks one language (French) but he said it in perfect English! I wish he had more confidence in his ability because it probably holds him back with marketing to global audience. His English is great, as long as you can make yourself understood that’s all that matters. He does that so well. His accent is beautiful. I love that he is so humble though. He’s such a gentleman! 😂
And so we danced, Magnificent!
