First off Eazy and Mc Ren were both crips and everybody knew it Eazy was a known drug dealer and Ren was a known gangbanger and Ice Cube never claimed to be streets the music a reflection of they’re environment

This dude just throwing shade... No, Cube wasn't a Gangbanger, but that doesn't mean the brother haven't gone through or seen some crazy shit growing up in tha hood... We've all gone thru some *GANGSTA* shit in our life, and where Cube survived & made it out of... *THAT ALONE MAKES HIM GANGSTA!!!!* ...Same thing goes for people like Dr. Dre (Cuz he beat every odds against him) and lil' homies like Kendrick Lamar... *SO WTF THIS DUDE TALKIN' BOUT???*

is ice cube gangsta?? lol. he's not a gangbanga but it's down to definition, but that said ice cube has probably been through + done things that most of us haven't had to deal with, especially to stay with the success he has maintained. definition of gangsta in some places just means take no shit from no one, always standing up for yourself weather it be in the street or in work or wherever. so is ice cube gangsta I think he is, never seen him back down in the media, + I aint never heard him back down in any stories.

Crystal B. Wrong about what? Cube went from HS to college in AZ to NWA. Sure he knows guys which allowed him to create his gangsta persona, but that's it. Kody said Cube was a dope rapper but is no gangsta.

people salty as hell that these interviews showing NWA's true colors. behind the smoke and mirrors for the most part are normal people who grew up in the ghetto, NWA was just an elaborate exaggeration of their life stories or other people's stories. they portrayed an image and used it to blow up and sell records

The environment trains you for it and to break out of the environment requires you to reject just almost all of the values you were taught and requires you to throw away how you've learned to live and start new. If you're middle class imagine throwing all of what you were taught away, distancing yourself from friends, staying away from where you grew up, rejecting beliefs your parents imparted on you and now go try being a thug? You probably don't want to do that, it's scary, and it's the same for those of us who came from those type of environments. It's often hard to see what's wrong when everything you've been taught has told you how you're living is right.

Everybody on here arguing about who did they homework on another man better. "He ain't no gangster" "He ain't from ____" "He associated with ____!" Regardless of what you read online, unless you KNOW the guy......you don't know shit and you're arguing about nothing. The end.

Sm0kinThug If Cube or Dre weren't talking about that lifestyle, it would be left up to nbc/abc/cbs to tell the story. If no one was talking about the lifestyle, we would all be crying about how ignored we are. Now someone is telling it, we want to bring into question their credibility and be mad about that. Maybe they weren't the ones to pull the trigger in any of the killings they talk about...but who is the last "real" gangster you've heard reach the general population with anything? Take it or leave, they are telling somebody's truth.

...also, the last real g I recall hearing much of anything about was right before Stanly "Tookie" Williams was executed. We're so close to the trees, we can't see the forest (We so busy arguing over trivial details that we can't take advantage of any progress that is being made in our favor. It's a waste of time trying to validate someone we don't know.)
