ALONE Season 8 - Clay Hayes' return HOME after 74DAYS!

Ойын-сауық

If I had to summarize my time on ALONE Season 8 in one word, it would have to be, profound. 74 days of wilderness solitude will teach you things. It forces you to take a look inward, and that's something that so few people are faced with these days. During my time surviving on the shores of Chilko Lake, my family was constantly on my mind. I thought my biggest challenge would be the physical side of survival; having to hunt, fish, snare, and forage. But, unexpectedly, that wasn't it at all. My biggest obstacle turned out to be the emotional struggle to endure complete isolation from family. Stoicism was a huge part of what got me through. This video shows some of what Liz and the boys were doing while I was away, then we see some behind the scenes shots of me when I finally came out of the woods. You can get a good idea of how much weight I'd lost (40lbs!). We see Liz's side of the Sat Phone call when I got to tell her I was the last one standing; that I was the ALONE Season 8 Winner!
Don't forget to subscribe to the channel. We're uploading a new video each week that features one of the following topics: archery, bow hunting, bow building, survival skills, bushcraft, self reliance, primitive skills, primitive bows, hunting, camping, fishing, and a lot more!

As a contentiously divorced dad, this was extremely salient and moving throughout this video. The unity of 2 parents, the roles they play, the taking turns of fun/mean parent and supporting each other, teaching the purpose and necessity of that...goes from a unifying dynamic to divisive. Breaks my heart how I've been demonized after 8 yrs of being a primary parent only to have a corrupt city attorney and judge flip the custody when a new man will bankroll another custody case. I had the ruling overturned in the appellate and supreme court, but only after $80k debt and losing my standing for 2yrs...the damage is done.

As a location scout for a production company I cant imagine how hard it is to set up for Alone. I dont work for them but I know some people in the industry who do and it takes literal years of negotiation with tribal / indigenous people or governments or private land owners to have the right mix of space, resources and the ability for the contestants to actually remain alone.

Hi Clay, I've enjoyed watching your videos and benefitted from them - thank you. I was delighted to see you on Alone and have been routing for you all the way! The final episode aired on TV here in New Zealand last night so it was fabulous to see the moment they told you that you had won! (My wife gave me grief because she saw me wipe away a tear!) Congratulations from NZ and kia kaha!

That feeling when you had consistent trauma and hadnt seen yourself in a min to have all the feelings that come with being human then when you finally see yourself and just realize all the painful experiences or moments were just a pinpoint on a timeline and here you are at a moment of calmness just looking at yourself as if what you went thru was enough to probably even mentally break you yet didnt
