I was immensely frightened and amazed by the dance of the ghosts to the Saint Sains' Dance of Death.... I just stood there shaking and eyes wide open while these apparitions danced both gracefully and macabre. This is one of those "gaming moments" you never forget. I was 11 years old.

Well this just wins doesn't it? It much better suits the creepy atmosphere than the CD tracks. These instruments meld together into something otherworldly. I like the CD voice acting though (dunno why some don't... because of audio quality? pls!) The CD version has another track that plays when you're escaping, but it in turn is missing "Suspense and Intimidation". Thanks for uploading this stuff! BTW it's a bit difficult to click the link for the last song because the YT controls cover them. If there's something you can do to avoid that in the future...

Sadly both versions have some great music, and also some music that just doesn't do it. The exploration theme in the CD-ROM version is way too intense. "Evil Approaches" is a pure mess in the floppy game, just as "Suspense and intimidation"(Elevator music? What where they thinking on that one?). On the other hand, the CD-ROM has a great "Evil Approaches", an excellent fighting theme and introduction theme, and the floppy disk version offers a very good and unsettling exploration theme. I wish I could mix both versions in order to provide an excellent result, but unfortunately, I have no idea of where and how the musical data is even stored(Apart from it probably being in these infernal .PAK files)... One day, maybe.

If you're talking about the version I think you're talking about, then I can explain why people hate the voice acting. BECAUSE IT SUCKS! Right out of the gate Emily Decerto's bad southern belle accent hits you like a punch in the face. I'm pretty sure Pam Beasley's acting in that one office episode was better. Immediately sucks the fear out of the writing, and it's not even enjoyable in its cheesiness. It's just painful! It is not the audio quality bro. People hate the voice acting because the people did a bad job using their _voices_ to _act_

When I get married one day to a woman (I'm twenty-seven atm), and both her and I eventually die from old age, I will come back to live as ghost with her in an old mansion similar to Derceto, and we will dance Waltz together to this 8 bit "Saint-Seanse" version (as ghosts). You are welcome to visit us and enjoy the dancing show though (as long as you don't physically touch us or else we will turn into creepy vibrating multi-colored party-balloons and devour you).

@@blackmoorX Evil approaches is also in the orchestrated CD version, but it only plays when a zombie chicken appears, instead for all enemies like in the floppy version. They did two new appearing themes for the CD version that play when either the zombies (which sounds like a march theme) or other kind of creatures (like the gargoyles, the spiders or the creature in the bathtub, this sounds like a fiddle going crazy) appear. What the CD version removed is that warning claxon that precedes either of these themes (in the floppy version, only Evil approaches) and that could scare you.
