I think I was at same age, but I was impressed with the Acoustic guitar than anything else, and so I saved money by working part time and I bought cheap guitar, and it broke the first day and that was the end of my love for learning how to play guitar. My parent could only afford food and nothing else, but anyway, fast forward, when my son was 10, I remembered my shit and I decided to buy him expensive guitar and I enrolled him in musical lesson. Three weeks later he dropped the class, and he came to me, and he was like um oh ah dad this is not my thing.

Mountain Fisher, you're not alone! I cannot imagine your intense pain. But I want you to know I'm so very sorry for the agony you're going through. Please know you'res not alone in your pain. I haven't lived the same circumstances as you tragically did. I'm 57 yo. Lost my very Godly mother in 2014. She was full of faith and the prophetic for the end times. I sincerely believed she would have been kept alive to see them come to pass. My faith in God and His Word is still strong, yet the part of it that I shared with my mother has been smothered and disillusioned to a degree. Please pray for me. P.S. My whole heart goes out to you for the loss of your beloved son. To all who are reading: It doesn't matter if you have one son or twelve sons. No parent ever contemplates losing a child before their own death. Its not in the natural order. I'm sure it's like losing a part of your physical and emotional body. I have only one child and one grandchild. I live for them both. Continuing the conversation, regarding the manner in which they are taken from us, I can imagine determines how we process our grief and resolution unto God for forgiveness and healing. For instance, if it was sudden, like a drunk driving car accident or an incidental shooting. Preventable to a degree, and definitely worthy of fleshly hostility, therefore requiring a great manner of grace and healing for forgiveness.. Cancer, Covid, etc; time to prepare, but why me/him/her? And why to a seven year old?! When we resolve to read, and absorb God's Word that we live in a fallen world, where "..the sun shines on the just and the unjust." This is scripture. God Almighty is just and sovereign in everything He says and does. If you don't have the patience to read anything else in the Bible, Read a NIV of Genesis and Revelations. It is an eye-opener of God's plan for mankind.

I heard this song a few times in my life, mostly played in the background. One day I was driving to work, music playing loudly, Ken Bruce on BBC2 played it one morning. I always say this about songs, you can hear it a thousand times but then hear for the very first time. Blew me away. The utter honestly in the lyrics. The lay out of the song, the unusual break to acoustic guitar half way to 3 quarters through. I’m still mesmerised every time I hear it. When I do hear it in public it always makes me stop what I’m doing ❤️

OM GEE!! I've listened to this song for many years, and never paid a lot of attention to the lyrics until now! The melody is very catchy, but the words are very depressing and dystopian!! As a niece who had an aunt who committed suicide due to a doctor's court-proven malpractice, and after much studied reasoning for one taking their own life; the proven results are that the individual only wants out of their pain, not to die. Suicide is a permanent end to a temporary problem. As a true, born-again Christian, I can, with all authority say; we live in a fallen world (thank you Adam and Eve). The merciful and loving God, Jehovah, The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, (so there's no mistake or confusion from the heathen gods of the far east), Who created all creation, gave us all free will. We can choose to serve Him or reject Him. If you choose the former, you verbally and heartfeltly accept His teachings according to His Word, that includes repentance and receiving His only begotten Son, Jesus, The Christ, Who was crucified on the cross at Calvary and shed His innocent blood for the redemption of our sins and our soul being born again and reconciled unto the Father for eternal life with Him. Repeating: Living a life that lines up with His Word (The Holy Bible). Therefore that you may have remission of your sin, a relationship with God The Father, and eternal life with Him in Heaven. If you free will reject the aforementioned; at the day of judgment you will be condemned to the eternal lake of fire. Revelations 19:20, Mark 9:43 Don't castigate me, I am merely a vessel who learned of this wisdom after living a rebellious and sinful life on my own, and being very hurt along the way, before a Godly mother prayed me through to the path of righteousness.

I think I got this 45 RPM record when I was 12 years old 1971 I think it was I played this song so much that it was making the scratching sound and the record grooves are all gray and dirty I literally wore this record out I also played the reverse of this 45 which was oo wackadoo wackaday. It was my favorite song ever it still is reminds me of when I was just a little kid just starting out in music I started playing guitar then I became a bass player now I became a singer and the guitar player and when I still hear this song just now want to ball my brains out.. it is a very sad song well-written well-performed it's just amazing how he came up with these words at his age back then he was just born an old soul I wonder whatever happened to him

This feels, smell, looks and sounds the first half of the seventies. Even though quality music was the standard, there are few tunes that shakes pre teen, early teen 70s kids to the roots. From Demise Roussos Mommy Blue to Fox on the Run. The age between 71 and 75 is like those 50s movies, or even that series Golden Years, we will never meet our childhoods love no more
