Back after a 3 week hiatus :). We moved, almost all of the boxes are unpacked, and things are starting to settle down. I filmed this in late June, so I found some time to edit it and post it. Our family is singing that song at my mother's funeral on the 14th of April. Mom was born raised and married on the Islands. Many generations buried on those islands. So many memories.

I haven't touched my uke in months...this has gotten me back to it ❤❤❤❤❤ thank you!!

I have several fingerpicking renditions of this beautiful song, and this one has definitely moved up to the top of my list to learn! The strumming is simple, and it’s nice to be challenged by the fingerpicking. Thank you! ❤️

This is so beautiful and amazing! I can feel myself in Hawaii. The little sound of the ukulele perfectly reflects the laid back spirit of Hawaii. Hello Katie, Thank you very much for this beautiful music! Your voice is so nice. I’m hesitant to mention that I think I noticed something wrong in the chord tabs. At ‘āhihi you wrote G7 for two beats, and at lehua it says F for two beats. Shouldn’t that be reversed? This is the same in the part where you hum. I am sorry to correct you... I love your channel and have learned a lot from your lessons. Mahalo!

the openning notes of Aloha 'Oe brings to mind the same pattern and notes in Red River Valley. Is it possible to find if Queen Liliʻuokalani knew that song, and used it as a pattern for her creation?
