Almost Perfect - Fujifilm X-T4 real shoot review
Ғылым және технология
Kyle & Dale are throwing away the test charts and getting into a real shoot with the new Fujifilm X-T4. This music video project revealed some wonderful strengths and a few small handicaps that make the X-T4 nearly perfect in almost every way.

Totally agree. Good work guys!
That was good to see, taken from the video end - with an "oh, it's a good stills camera as well", towards the end. As a predominantly stills X mount photographer wishing to expand into more serious video, this was the perfect review. Thank you.

Awesome video guys. You hit on all the good stuff! Great job with the shoot too.
Great honest review that is balanced and understands that its okay to have genuine criticisms of a camera you enjoyed! But I gotta say, that song at the end was wonderful. So beautifully written and performed!

Really great review here with honest feedback. The best thing is that it felt like the right level of comprehensive detail. Obviously the big changes are in video features so that makes the most sense to discuss. Highlighting how it excels and a couple areas that would round it out as fully capable is really useful to be able to predict where it may need extra gear to prop it up.

Thanks YSS. A few people have commented that the problem we encountered was not related to the camera, but to the lens we were using. Apparently it doesn't do AF very well.
Best review on video mode! I wish Fujifilm improves C-AF more before they release it, especially, they have to release it later than they planned due to Corona-virus 19.

Hey there's Kyle. Didn't know he was on any other YT channels but his own.
nice review! please make one low light range review compare with a full frame camera like s1
Thanks for the hands on review ! Would you have somewhere the list of your accessories as a check. I see an external screen (used from times to times only) and a mic as well. Thanks
Thanks for the video! Would you recommend this camera over the X-T3 at around 1000€? I'm hesitant because of the large difference in price (700€). Would getting the cheaper camera and losing some resolution to electronic stabilization in post be the way to go for a tighter budget like mine? Thanks for your opinion.
Hi there! Thanks! Best review on video functionality of the X-T4 I've seen yet. May I ask which lenses besides the 16-55 you did use? I'm filming with a XF35 f2 right now and it's focus breathing is quite noticeable. What are your experiences with other fuji lenses in regard of focus breathing?
@vistek
4 жыл бұрын
Thanks HdT. Really appreciate the comment. I've never really tested the Fujinon lenses for breathing - so I'll let the others in the comments to speak to that if they have experience.
Great vid guys - What lens(es) did you shoot with in the studio?? Cheers!

@@vistek Hey thanks anyway! Great channel :D
Perhaps this wasn't mentioned since it's focused ONLY on the body, but for those that have watched this and are disappointed about the lack of dedicated 3.5" headphone jack, the new grip on the XT-4 has a dedicated headphone jack as well thereby freeing up the USB-C for charging if the need arises.
Hi guys great down to earth and natural review, like your style a lot. But I got a quick question. What ISO are you comfortable shooting with on this camera in either stills or video?
We need a WDR mode that pushes the camera to create something that looks like 14 stops of DR.
if i buy 35mm f2 for fuji...how much aperture value will i get when?
Can I ask if the XT4 still has the focus pulsing issue the XT3 has? I love the XT3 but even with all firmware updates the focus pulsing has still not been resolved completely. Thanks
Want this camera.
Is there any better option now?
Hi. Can you move the focus area while AEL is active? Or is it locked like on all the other older FUJIFILM cameras?
Did you change the in camera sharpness or noise reduction settings at all for this video?
Ah I was hoping for better AF and less 'sticky' IBIS too...I really really love the audio in this review though, damn! Would love to know what mic was used!
I want one. 😊🇨🇦

Well as an a6400 user the Fuji XT4 is really really tempting. Cuz I really don’t know when if ever Sony will put in specs that will actually be competitive. Also I love the same footage!!

I also have the a6400. I’m tempted by this camera. Love the color science, the aesthetics of camera, the dial, and the sensor. The autofocus on the a6400 is amazing, but I just need competent autofocus. Doesn’t have to be perfect. What do you like about the X-T4 over the a6400?

@vistek

Hi Youssef. We used a combination of Fujinon lenses. Sadly I can't remember all of them, but they are the more common ones that are typically paired with the X-T series.
Thanks for the helpful review! Would you recommend the XT4 or the Canon EOS R for simple talking head KZread videos. I am hoping to create a great cinematic look to the videos. Thanks!
im looking for a mirrorless camera only for video any suggestions besides the fujifilm xt4?
Hi guys! Witch lens did you used in the moments you were vlogging? Was the 16-55 f2.8?
@vistek
4 жыл бұрын
Hi Omar, that is correct!
Hello there, can we expect a comparison review between XT4 and Eos R7?
If we are to buy into a new mirrorless system today, how would you weigh X-T4 versus E-M1 Mk IIII? Major use for shooting photo of kids and travel, thus a more reliable and easy face/eye autofocus would be great. Thanks.
Where can i found this amazing song??
Not trying to spread any bad Fuji vibes, but as a documentarian I have had an awful experience with my X-T3... Unfortunately the camera has had an intermittent green flickering EVF (and subsequently rear LCD) issue; have sent it back to Fuji Canada twice. On both occasions it has been over a month to return the camera. Fuji has refused to outright replace the camera as a lemon, and it is on it's way back to me out of warranty. The sad part is the camera has seen very minimal use, less than 4000 actuations (mostly on my copy stand) and approximately 1 hour of video testing during which the overheat warning came on ... Obviously it is a bit of a lemon from my perspective. It hasn't been a very good experience as a professional; I was hoping for it to become a run and gun documentary camera but it has not been dependable enough to work into my gainfully employed by the National Film Board of Canada documentary kit. Overall, I feel like Fujifilm makes some of the best cameras in the world and yet they seem to have the worst professional service. Their service in Canada has been atrocious in my experience, they would not return my call for over a month before I simply had to RMA the camera through the mom and pop camera store I acquired it from!? Beware of Fuji's recently downgraded to one year manufacturer's warranty (which appears to have commenced with the X-T3... the X-T2 had 2 year included), when I bought it I neglected to purchase the extended warranty, but if I had a time machine I absolutely would have. At this point I am not sure what to say or if the issue will even be resolved upon it's second return back from the repair center! Not optimistic about my investment. The fact that X-T3 owners got little in the way of the expected 'kaizen' support thusfar seems like a bad situation, but that should be the least of my worries. Guess I just feel like we X-T3 owners are getting caught in the midst of an unpredictable change in policy, then they release this... However my own experiential anecdotes could be classified as underwhelming to infuriating when compared to how Canon or Sony professional service centers have treated me in the past. That said, I certainly won't go back to either of those companies for mirrorless as I really love the Fujifilm ecosystem, but I certainly don't think this Fuji will replace having to rent the PXW-FS7ii as the workhorse as I had originally anticipated it to be. It's a real conundrum, because I still feel like they should just do the right thing and replace my defective unit so I don't have to leave such comments.
