I bought one of those the other week to complement my solar system in the house, and it charges up during the day from the solar, and it powers my lights in the lounge for about 5 hours at night, I've also hooked it up via a smart plug so I can control it's charging on sunny days, I think it's a very good unit, and thank you for the insight as to what's in it😊.

Wonder what effect the use of a dimmer in line would have? Say with 400 watts of light bulbs for example.

I'm looking to buy one of these and found your video extremely useful so thanks for that. I have a question about recharging the unit. Via a 10amp 12v cigarette lighter this gives 120 watts which I assume is the wattage that the unit will recharge at. If I recharge via 220 from an inverter or mains it will only recharge at 60w. Is that correct? I'm grateful for your help.

Great video. I just got one of these units to support my insulin fridge in case of emergency. It is a small dorm style unit. About how long did it take to charge the unit off the AC power brick from depleted? I'm sorry if you covered that and I missed it.

It was a little over an hour if i remember. I sold it after the video was done as i didn't need another one. I have about 8 of them here. I did cover that in the video as i timed full load discharge and charge.

These heater guns are bad to use at ½ power, because you are running the resistive element over a diode. At full power, the diode is shorted by the switch. So yes, on ½ setting it's half the power, but that's because one half of the sine wave is blocked by the diode. You could say it's 50% duty cycle.

Another thing, according to the manual, the solar charging function can be monitored at your figure tips. Does this mean that this device is intended to be used only by pretty ladies with trim figures? Also, placing an LED on a board where nobody will see it is illogical.
