Also, regarding the connectivity, it does raise a lot of questions regarding privacy data protection. I no matter what, I don't like to share my location for the Bluetooth access or wi-fi. Second, the menu is dubious + having an account on a Chinese server (meaning CCP) while providing the password to my wi-fi, it make me wander if they could access anything else that i have connected to my wi-fi? Do that thing with the phone without setting up the wi-fi or installing their app on your phone! See if their device, without being connected "to the world", is still messing with our phone (preferably another phone without their app installed). Recently I assembled a 15kWh LiFePo4 battery and the BMS Bluetooth app have, at "about us" and "privacy" tabs, only Chinese language! And, yes, remains the activate location issue.

Yeah, I didn't like the app at all. Lots of issues, and it really doesn't buy you much control over the device. It's also annoying that if the power station turns off, you have to manually re-enable bluetooth/wifi every time. The tests I ran on the phone with the display being messed up were on a device that didn't have the app installed on it. I have several phones, one had the app on it and the other didn't.

Good review Adam. The phone going haywire when the unit is charging is likely a neutral ground issue. Have you looked at the Bluetti AC180? This unit seems to be competing with that. I have the AC180 and so far am very happy with it.

Regarding the conversion efficiency, how can we consider the inverter's consumption? Overall, yes, the focus is on the conversion rate so, CC watt per AC watt is the way to measure. CC = continuous current while AC = alternative current.

@@AdamDeLay07 (A) it's about the inverter own consumption but this the actual efficiency of the device. (B) is about, pretty much having a direct electrical connection (inside the "box") between the wall socket and the AC consumers. So there should bot be energy moving through the batteries and inverter when plugged on the wall, to power up AC consumers => the battery and inverter stay in standby (inverter shutdown ideally) when the device is used as an UPS.

Agreed. When in UPS mode, grid power should just be flowing to the load.

The unresponsive phone sounds a lot like there is an earthing issue with the power station. I wonder if there is low voltage between the earth system of the power station and the premises earthing/the planet. It's that fuzzy/furry feeling you get where there is leakage current from switching power supplies etc in double insulated devices. It's perfectly safe but can throw touch displays etc into a spin. I see a similar effect with my old Toshiba laptop's touchpad if I disconnect earthing in my own setup.

@@ChristopherCologneASMR No worries. Yeah it's hard to beat their pricing. So a basic way to tell how long something will run is to find out how many watts it takes to power the device (in this case you said 1400W). So if that sander/buffer ran for 1 hour, it would use 1400Wh (watts x 1 hour) and then look at the power station and you want to find the "watt hours"/"Wh"/capacity (in this case 1056Wh). So since the power station capacity is smaller than the power needed to run the sander/buffer for an hour, it couldn't run the entire hour. Hopefully that helps and doesn't just confuse you more...😁 I do know that Allpowers was working on expansion batteries as well. Not sure if they're available yet. Always another option for you.

The UPS function can "bypass the charge"/ pass through charge? Through that I want to say if I keep this constantly connected at a power source (wall socket), once the battery is full, it will be disconnected and the consumers will use directly the wall source. So the inverter will be shut down when the AC power source is available? (1) AC (wall) - > (2) CC (to charge the battery) -> (3) AC (inverter) -> (4) consumers (AC consumers). The thing is that if I use it as an UPS, there should only be (1) directly to (4) stage. The battery will be only maintained but not used. The inverter should be shut down as well.

  • @AdamDeLay07

When the power station is at 100% it does pass through the grid power straight to the loads. I was able to confirm this by examining the grid voltage when the power station was at 100%. It was 122.2v and it was being passed through to the AC Outlets. When I unplugged the grid connection, the voltage dropped down to 110v. I cannot confirm whether or not the inverter actually turns off though. I would think it would have to stay on in order for the UPS function to be fast enough if grid power is lost.

@@AdamDeLay07exactly what i’m worried about. plugged say into a fridge or the tv all the time as a UPS will it draw all that wattage that the inverter take in to charge. That would be very expensive. Now if 100% of the time once the inverter is 100% charged it then the outlet only pulls what the fridge or tv watts is not the inverter watts. thanks great review! $583 2 night ago for the unit and a 140 watt panel. @@scottrobert2724 So I just ran a test and the results were...interesting. I charged the power station up to 100% and even when the power station said it was at 100% and no incoming power on the display, my killawatt meter still showed 260W being pulled from the power station. Not sure if it's still charging even though the display says it's full? When the power station said it was full, I plugged in a 30W fan into the power station and I could see the extra 30W coming from the killawatt meter (AC IN) and not from the power station. So the power was being passed through from the wall outlet.

You have to be in proximity of the power station to connect over Bluetooth, but you can turn it on and off without an account. You just can’t access the settings without an account (actually you can’t go back to the power station selection page either).
