By far, one of the greatest bands of all time. It was always incredible seeing them every Spring for the last few decades as they took up residence at The Beacon Theater. I remember one year they were playing Mountain Jam, flowed it into Elizabth Reed, and about 45 minutes later, went back into Mountain Jam. Everyone was literally dancing in the aisles. I've got a drawer full of concert stubs, and will never tire of seeing them play. The notes when you really got a special treat were when Eric (Clapton) used to join them. They were always pushing each other to play their very best. I think it was in 09 after the played Elizabeth Reed and then ended with Layla that EC turned to Derek and said "I don't think I've played like that since '69. I hope they continue to play, I know a lot of people couldn't fathom the idea of them continuing after Duane passed away, and it feels awkward to say that after we just lost Greg. But The ABB always seemed to transcend any one member. Sure will miss hearing Greg's voice tho. You know there's one heck of a band up in Heaven tho 🙏

What happened to the sound when the song kicked in? It's like the all the hiss went away and it became a professional audio recording. Extremely trippy and awesome.

Derek Trucks is a phenomenal guitarist and certainly has the legacy and talent to play with The Allman Brothers, but why does it always look like he buys his shirts on sale at K-Mart?

I appreciate killer guitar so much. And having seen Derek and Warren live this year (though not with the Allmans sadly) they're both badasses. Even though Derek's sound has matured over these past 9 years, he still does even when I saw him play with Tedeschi/Trucks. Why does he keep fiddling with that knob on his guitar. No matter what guitar he plays, he keeps fiddling with the damn thing. Why does he do this? Is it just a nervous tick, or is it part of his technique?

He plays slide and is a perfectionist with his tone. He overdrives his guitar with the volume knob and is therefore riding the volume all of the time

ALL THE GREATS "FIDDLE" WITH THEIR KNOBS, YES FOR PERFECTION, THEY HEAR THINGS MERE MORTALS CANNOT. THE COMPENSATE FOR WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE SONG/ BAND AT PARTICULAR TIMES. MOST OF THE GOOD ONES DO THIS ALL NIGHT LONG. ITS ABSOLUTELY ABOUT THE "MUSICIAN'S EAR" AS IT'S BEEN CALLED. AND TECHNIQUE CERTAINLY PLAYS A PART AS WELL.

Ever play an instrument of any kind? I feel for you (not really) that amazing music, be it Rock and Roll, Jazz, Blues, all the wonderful music, that it apparently just goes over you small pin head and even smaller closed mind my man. HA! HA! HA! You should calm down your wise ass comments and not be such the complete douche that you seem to be. I'll calm down when you get a fuckin clue. Love you, Peace and Love To you RINGO.
