I guess I'm getting old and cranky, because while I love to watch the best perform at their best, it cracks me up to observe these two top-flight pros getting their asses so thoroughly handed to them by this eternally frustrating game. Thanks for bringing us the fun. We need it these days...

i'm kinda old too, still bowling and still getting it handed to me, too often but it's fun.

I will share a story. Tom and I are the same age. When I was 15 years old, I rolled a 399 triple at the Riverside Park lanes (159, 121, 119). Mr. Miller was working the desk (John Miller’s father). He looked at the scoresheet, asked my age, then told me there was a kid my age from Sturbridge who’s rolling 400-series regularly. That kid was Tom Olszta and it wasn’t long after Mr. Miller burst my bubble that Tom was showing up on channel 5’s Candlepin Bowling. Once I reached college, I stopped bowling. The Riverside Park lanes were gone and Candlepin seemed to be dying in Western Mass. I always rooted for Tommy Olszta. He was a great bowler and sportsman.
Nice. We need the Tom Olszta vs Fran Oranto match. Someone has to have it lol.

I’d like to see the match where Fran Onorato defeated Tom Olszta in week #23 of Tom’s legendary winning streak on Candlepin Bowling. A search shows nothing, so far.
Man, that was quite the ending, especially with how Tom O'Brien's final two boxes went down. Unbelievable!

almost hadm'...OUCH!!!! at the end.
A great match with Olszta sporting the rare (for him) maroon and gold shirt. Even Don Gillis commented on it.
RIP Tom O'Brien
Wayback when, I was 15 years old… Early 70s Tommy and I were thing. I still call him Tommy, because he’ll always be Tommy to me. I haven’t seen or heard from him since I was about 20. And that was 44 years ago. I have very fond memories, and if he reads this he’ll know what that means. I wish I knew where he was because I would love to contact him. I also love Stasia Cernecki (sp).. I was a pretty good bowler backs in myself. This is an awesome post, and I have no subscribed to your channel!!
The rare phrase "Our challenger, Tom Olszta".
This match aired on 27 June 1992.
Right audio channel is missing.
After hearing that Mr. O'Brian had passed I wonder how many of the people in the background are still with us? 7-21-2022
Before I watch this all the way, I will make a bet that Tom will win! BMP
tom could carry so many extra pins that any leave had a good chance of a spare conversion.
What is the title of the Candlepin Bowling theme song?

@@someguy23475 if there was a tie, they would do a 2 box roll off.

I figured it would be a roll off, just wasn’t sure if it was one box (tenth box like) or two.
I call this one "the Choker"

Yeah, shame OB hit head pin twice...........Not to mention the object pin all six times. Not exactly a choke.
Mixed bowing
Too bad candlepin is dying. Just too expensive to keep the old pinsetters running.
