Hi Alexa , its amazing how languages are connected because in Spanish Language the future of the verb "ir " in Spanish ( to go/infinitive verb in English ) is "irá" similar to the verb that is used for the future tense in French, Thanks alot for your videos. Salut.

They both derive from Latin

I can remember the future form because the infinitive of "to go" in Spanish is "ir." My Spanish has definitely helped my study of French!

Well thankfully, "aller" is a pretty common verb so it is fine to have to know its strange irregularity. Unlike in English where some nouns or verbs aren't often used but are very irregular. E.g. The plural of box is boxes. BUT the plural of ox is oxen. The plural of goose is geese. BUT the plural of moose is simply moose. The plural of tooth is teeth BUT the plural of booth is booths.

Could someone helps clear my doubt on the difference between "going to" VS "will go"? We've learnt the former as present tense (e.g. il va au parc), and the latter as future tense (e.g. il ira au parc). Is it correct to think it as: the former is for near future, i.e. for something is in the middle or on the verge of happening, whereas the latter is for the more distant future, i.e. for something planned or supposedly will get done? Thanks folks!

Thank God I am a Spanish speaker. Spanish verb conjugation is practicly the same as french.

It is like portuguese "ir_to go" and "ser_to be" so the future tense of these verbs are kinda like portuguese: -Eu irei_J'irai > I will go -Ele ira_Il ira > He will go -Eu serei_Je serai > I will be -Ele será_ Il sera > he will be So French has a lot of influence from portuguese(and Spanish as well) more than I imagined, so Alexa your question "What were french people thinking about when they came up with this verb?" is answered > "They had influence of other langagues" !!!

In fact, in spanish is even easier than french, since the infinitive of aller (to go) is "ir" an irregular verb

(He will go to the bookstore to buy some books.) Nous irons à Versailles célébrer 20ème anniversaire de marriage. (We will go to Versailles to celebrate 20th wedding anniversary.) Ils iront manger au restaurant Alexander Laggard. (They will go to eat at the Alexander Laggard restaurant.) merci beaucoup :)

Savons- nous exprimer le future avec aller aussi par example: Je vais aller au cinema demain soir. Est que ce bon...? Et nous savons exprimer le trois future que /am,is,are going'/will,/am,is,are going to avec rai, ras, ra, rons, rez,ront..? Merci!
