There are lots of sane rational gamers that won't start becoming sexist just because some video game characters are. There are an overwhelming majority of sane gamers that don't go catching every single living being and stuffing them in balls because they played pokemon.

I don't believe they should have to get coaching. It should be up to the Studio. You don't force someone to pay you to help. You only get paid for help if someone wants the service. That's like forcing your help on someone and then saying they have to pay for it when they didn't want it in the first place. I've seen the trailer and don't have a problem with it if I'm honest. Then again I don't make it a habit to tear trailers apart. As for what was translated, I'm pretty sure it was a miss translation. You can tell there's something off with the wording just by reading it.

Name one instance where a character's race made the game worse on the basis that if it was a white character it would be better. Please. I can't wait to find out. Should Barrett be a white guy in FF7? Tifa should be a man now? Good lord you people need to get a grip. If a game is bad you don't need to make up reasons for why its bad. Just say why it's actually got bad gameplay. DEI suddenly being the main talking point out of nowhere is hularious. Same with Critical Race Theory. Nothing changed but suddenly you people don't care so much after a year long tantrum banning things that don't exist

​@@KingDJ524 True, and theirs nothing wrong with the initial principles of it. It's not about race or gender. It's about way more things today, and gameplay is probably not affected by it, when a game is bad, it's bad. Some people equally care (more) about other things like Story lines, character arcs, authenticity, and those are sometimes affected. And you either get the impression theirs an unnatural, often political message being shoved down the game that not make sense or seems necessary in the story, definitely with older IP's with an established expectation of a sequel. Last of us, part 2 is the first one that comes up Tomb Raider another for me. Depending on how much the story matters to you and how it's incorporated can make it succeed or fail. Did it ruin the games I mentioned no but please why do it and also invest in a consultancy agency etc. Driving up prices under the fake assumption, it will reach broader audiences and make more sales. Theirs no data to verify that it does, theirs no evaluation or comparative analysis etc. But there are also good examples like BG 3 where it just fits in because it's a new story in a universe with a framework that perfectly supports it. The Witcher is also a good example. The bigger issue behind all the enforcement of DEI requirements are actual companies ESG scores and their access to cheap credit lines depending on it. Now, those companies could actually improve their scores in other ways, but the lowest hanging fruit is the DEI stuff. So it's an extortion racket and limits or alters the intended vision somewhat or just changes direction or prevents some "offensive stories" from being told. While nothing unlawful is done without their consultancy, so it's like a protection racket against a made up danger and online attacks to give validity to that danger.

I think you expressed it well about drawing the line, and respecting that line because it is not fair to immediately jump to attack people (crossing that line) just because they don't share your beliefs.

Just let them make the game they want to make, and let fans decide on how well it does.

Gonna support Black Myth Wukong nevertheless. Good quality games shouldn't be abused by whatever 'consultation' & 'guidance' with huge fees. I have been reading and watching Wukong forelore since young. If you're gonna tweak the intended art origins to what you perceive for FREE to suit your rules politically, i believe people can still entertain you for that nonsense. BUT to tweak if off from an original work and charging for hefty fee, that isn't the intended well-being of art for goodwill of gaming industry isn't it? If you're a cook that sells traditional food from your hometown, and someone suggested to add some spring onions to suit their local's taste, thereafter will be claiming millions of dollars as consultation fee from you, will you do it? lol 🤣
