Our Dracaena is 40 years old. It's as tall as a palm tree. It bloomed many times and somehow survives. It blooms yearly and I adore the smell of its flowers. It gets minimal care, but somehow manages to do ok. We consider it part of the family.

That truly sounds so glorious! Congratulations for maintaining it so well! I would love to see a picture of it. I have had my dracaena compacta for 5-6 years and just in the last year it’s new leaves appear paler shade of green than the others, it’s not unsightly but I am wondering if it is a nutrient issue. Do you have any advice or suggestions ? Thank you.

This is encouraging!! I just got a 2' D Candelabra a couple of weeks ago and planted it in a pons media which is working out well. I'm nervous about watering too much. I have been misting it with Brita water that has sat for 24 hrs . How often to fertilize and what kind??

WOW! That's very nice! I have taken a top of a leafless one that was going to just dry in the the sun. I put that stem section in saibro (red volcanic rock) and that stem section put out leaves but it didn't root. 2 years after, this spring, I decided to put it in water and it finally rooted! Now it's potted in, basically, Pumice + Coco Coir + Worm Castings. > : )
It's funny that you have someone in the background reminding you the proper word when you stuck when you explained , it's kind of cute in the way... Thank for all the informations about the plants .😊😉👍👍

Hahaha... I would call that a bonus! 😆
About 70% of my dracaena leaves turned brown all of a sudden. I thought maybe I forgot to water it but now I think it was to close to the vent when I turned the heat on for winter. I cut the brown leaves off about 2 months ago and it's just now starting to grow new leaves. Just a friendly reminder to keep them away from hot air vents. 🙂

This Dracaena expert is kinda funny...He speaks so well & clear yet some words just doesn't wanna come out at all....ha ! Cheers bro ! 🍻
I recently bought a LOT of plants. -A Dracaena being one of them. I never knew how much I'd love taking care of them. However, being the attentive person I am, I notice a small yellow spot on one of my lower leaves and researched what it meant. I found out root rot can cause this due to an excessive amount of water and instantly knew I was watering it too much. The source said 5-7 days, whereas I had been watering it daily. Glad I hadn't killed her! Thanks for this informative video!
Thank you for the thorough explanation, I'm plant sitting a Dracaena for a friend so this is my how-to-guide.

Love love love this video. Thank you so much for getting into so much details. I just bought 2 large (1m70) dracaena janet craig yesterday at the Gare du Midi market in Brussels. They were grown in Holland. I didn't check the roots before taking them home so will do so immediately. Thank you so much. Vanessa

I just purchased a Mass Cane plant today. There were only two left. The one that I purchased had a few brown tips and two of the leaves were split. I cut them off and it is beautiful. Thank you for the video
Thanks so much! Very professional video and I take a lot from you with me for my plant. Bless you!
Very comprehensive video what to buy, how to take care of the plant. Great video!
Greetings from California. This is by far the best video about Dracaenas that I have seen, you cover all of the stages of the plant's life. Thank YOU!
My dracaenas are very old. I Planted them at least thirty years ago. There was only one variety available then. In late November the air is sweetly perfumed late at night all around my yard. They recover quickly from storm damage. I enjoy your posts. You are very knowledgeable and entertaining.
Thanks for this... my tree is now 10 feet tall after 11 years. I didn’t know what to do with it. Now I do. I am going to propagate some branches. It flowered 3 times, and I loved the fragrance.
Thanks for the info on the spider mites! I wouldn’t have even considered the concept of “giving them a little bit of water” all the time during the winter. I’m a recovering “plant over-waterer” so I’ve trained myself to resist the urge to water a little bit, quite frequently. Good to know! Lol!
Best video I’ve seen for this plant family. Well done!
Beautiful, interesting video. Learned a lot and I wish everybody could speak English as clear as you, good speed, accent and very easy to understand every single word. Congratulations. New subscriber here. Thank you

You are awesome! We were gifted our Dracaena at our son's funeral 12 years ago. We have struggled to keep it alive and now I have hope we will be able to care for it even longer. Thank you for making it easy to understand how to care for this plant! Also, I haven't heard mentioned if it is possible to plant the "flower" and get new growth from it? Does the flower really not serve any purpose to this plant? And when you say "self watering" is this favored from above or below in the planter?

Great, it was very good. God bless you
Ok, I have watched a lot of your videos. I appreciate that you are trying so hard to find the proper words in English. America has many problems, one particular is people coming in on our “open borders”, yet when they get here they have NO INTENTION of speaking English! That earned you a new subscriber!
Am a draceana love, last year I had brown spot running down on my leaves took a leave of it to the plant clinic they told me it was bacteria affecting it, I phyton 27 one to spray and water it and it works so far❤❤❤
