Should have ordered the mutton version too at the stewed beef stall. Should definitely try the 真善美 claypot laksa at the other side of the hawker centre. One of the best laksa in Singapore. Also very famous is the corner roast duck stall along the same stretch as the stewed beef.
I started eating at Himawari years more than 10 years ago, the price is really reasonable for a good buffet. despite it being in a pretty remote location, it survived till today. a great testament to the quality of food there!
Thank you for highlighting food places that not only taste good but have good value. Food taste better when it’s a good deal.

You sounds like Taiwanese 😜 I agree 💯
Fun fact: For Bak Kut Teh, the "teh" is actually not the broth, but rather the actual Tea. Traditionally it is eaten with pot of brew tea at the side to cut down the greasiness of the Pork ribs.
i can never watch mike without having food or i will go out and spend ungodly money on some food because it always looks so good
Wow, can't believe Mike actually covered three of my favorite lunch places in this video, I see Mike ordered the beef tendons with that beef stew. Also Alexandra Village hawker centre has wild chicken roaming about.
u rock i cant believe you found one of the best beef stews in singapore just like that AND WALKED TO IT YOU ABSOLUTE MAD MAN
As a Singaporean, it makes me proud that mike would go the extra mile and explore the hawker centres tourists would not know about and share it with the viewers, as I believe the best way to experience the culture is to visit a hawker centre in the heartland (IE: Not Newton Food Centre). That is how you can observe the average Singaporean way of life. Plus there are hidden gems in these places. P.S: I have hawker recommendations for tourists visiting, but it can be alot and some of the food is an "acquired" taste 😅 But in no particular order these are some places I would recommend: - Tiong Bahru Market (Heng Heng Fried Sotong Prawn Mee, Lor Mee 178, Tow Kwar Pop, Teck Seng Soya Bean Milk --> you have to go to this stall really early cuz the drinks are sold out by/before 12, Tiong Bahru Char Kway Teow, Tiong Bahru pao and Tiong Bahru Fishcake) - Maxwell Food Centre (Chee Cheong Fun Club, Jin Hua Fish Soup, Maxwell Fuzhou Oyster Cake, Xing Xing Ondeh-Ondeh Tapioca Cake, China Street Fritters --> have to call this stall beforehand to check if they are open and preorder at the same time. You should be able to google their menu to decide what you want to order and FU SHUN SHAO LA MIAN JIA) - Ghim Moh Food Centre (Chuan Kee Boneless Braised Duck, Guan Kee Fried Kway Teow, Jiu Jiang Shao La, Ghim Moh Carrot Cake, economical bee hoon (same row as Chuan Kee Boneless Braised Duck, Lao Chao Zhou satay bee hoon, Hin Fried Hor Fun, 63 laksa, Tom’s City Zoom Mee Pok Tar, Ghim Moh Chwee Kueh 李老三 and Whampoa soya bean) - Yuhua Village Food Centre (Xing Yun Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice, Lai Heng Handmade Teochew Kueh and Lu Fang Zhou Pin stall)

Ghim Moh food centre’s hor fun, duck rice, and carrot cake (the one with the uncle/auntie couple cooking) are the best!!! Chwee kueh is definitely an acquired taste, and the lady manning the Whampoa soy bean stall is the worst (so I go to KK beans instead 😂)

I would be going bananas at the hawker centers, complete and most joyful bananas... 😋👍🌻❤️
So good to see you enjoying our local food and restaurants 👍🫶 come back here anytime Mike! We love you 🫰
All that amazing looking good! Loving seeing all the things you've been getting in Singapore!
Himawari is exquisite, their grated wasabi paired with fresh sashimi is just an experience outside of a buffet.
Oooo...it all looks soooooo good! I'd eat any of that without a second thought and regret nothing.
Thanks mike for shining a new light on my own country, did not even know a lot of these places existed tbh.
You're still in Singapore!! I remembered your first time here and you kept saying you love coming here so much. Mike, we love having you!
Hi Mike! I've been a follower for a few years and I'm loving the singapore series! Since you're here, maybe you could also explore more on Malay and Peranakan cuisine? Not many international youtubers are aware, and I think people are missing out!

Best episodeeeeee for October
Hey Mike welcome to Singapore! Gosh, next time maybe you can do a fan meet and walk about ! Love your videos!
Just came back from Singapore and ate 6+ meals a day at hawker centres
Mikey in food paradise at the moment
I always look forward to your videos it's so entertaining and always make my day
Himawari is known for their robatayaki from Chef Nakaoka-san 4:05. The sushi buffet definitely takes a backseat to their grilled selections! Please give them a try 😊
Love salmon. Haven't had good tempura in years. Looks really good!
It’s 1:30am, now I need to go have a snack before going to sleep O.o
Hi Mike, please try this place called 'Geylang claypot rice' along beach road. Although they are famous for their claypot rice, they have this dish called moonlight horfun which is amazing. It's a dish commonly found in Malaysia but rare to find in Singapore
Hunger inducing Mike The Japanese food looked incredible
And this is why I’m always craving noodles, dumplings, and hotpot

This place remembers me my fav restaurant in my state. I go there 1 time every year with my best friend and we order A LOT at the beginning because it always become packed later haha.
10:03 - Idk if salmon belly is my favorite food, but it's for sure a contender, and that one looked amazingly delicious.
He sounds like he is saying Prada rather the paratha. Was totally confused until the food came in.

Cos it’s called Prata in Singapore, not Paratha.
Wow Nice Traditional Singapore Foods !!
As a Singaporean i really love Mike's content. Prata is our comfort food. My fave is Prata Tissue. It is a tower of crispy prata drizzled with sugar. If you dont fancy the sweets, just tell them to omit that. The same can be found in Malaysia but they called it Canai
Welcome to Singapore. Since you'll be here for a while more, try exploring hawkers in the west. There are lots of hidden gems here as well.
I made sure I made dinner first before watching Mikey eat Amazing foods!😋👍

Awesome job Mikey thumb up.
I’m sorry, but the way you say paratha cracks me up XD
Hey Mike! If you have the chance, you should try "Izakaya Nijumaru" at Cuppage Plaza! The food is also pretty great, it's around Orchard so it's quite convenient.
Awesome video Mike my wife and I are now hungry lol.
love how you opened up to sushi
Such a shame that the Hawker Stalls are dying out, they look like a great experience for the customer
U should go to jln kayu thasevi prata place, their chicken curry is to die for !! I think they're open 24 hours, also along jln kayu there's other food places, nice beancurd shop n Jane s cakes where they specialise in only 2 items chocolate cake n durian cake..
Just finished my lunch and now I'm hungry again LOL! BTW - is there a plan in the future to make your videos to 60fps? Thanks and more hunger power!
If you’re in NYC and craves for hawkers food, there’s a “Urban Hawker” center just open by Singaporean & his Americans business partner.

Just left Singapore yesterday, my favorite country for food.
Ivy’s Hainanese mutton soup at Pasir Panjang area or the Ser Seng turtle innards soup at MacPherson area since you happened to pop by 😂
Love that stewed beef pot
Love your videos!
That beef stew stall used to ran by 2 Hainanese aunties. Guess they are now retired. Whenever I visit this place, would also get the an avocado drink from Mr Avocado, which is next to the beef stew stall . Cheers!
You ate that and then went to bed?? Wow! All that spicy food-you rock!
I Freakin love those fish heads at sushi places!! Yum😋
Hi mike! You should’ve tried “Burgs” at Alexandra Village hawker centre!
Wow! I work near that stewed beef and never tried it XD I must go try it soon!
The chicken rice stall beside the stewed beef is my favourite chicken rice stall in Singapore
That hawker stall beef stew looked great, but I don't know if I could handle eating that in the Singapore heat

malls have hawker centers too..they will have AC. u can still enjoy hawker style food there ;).
I’m particular about my food. Ramen go ramen Santouka at Clarke Quay Central, udon at Tamoya, soba at Shimbashi. I don’t eat Uni at restaurants around town just buy from Meidi-Ya sashimi grade and enjoy it on its own 😂
Hi Mike, would love to see you try Pakistani food in Sg! There's a restaurant (one of my favs!) called Kebabchi at Suntec City that has an extensive menu of meat and vegetarian curries as well as charcoal barbequed kebabs! Really good garlic naan as well. 🥰
If you have the time, do visit bukit timah hawker center. Theres delicious satay beehoon, prawn hokkien mee, thunder tea rice, charkway teow and many many more. All delicious and cheap.
love that piping hot… cold soba. 9:03
In a glance, I thought the thumbnail of Mike was giving me the FINGER! 🤣
You should try their ala carte menu, their grilled items r pretty good too.
That looks so daaang tasty Who else craves ayce☝️
Whenever you are back in NYC can you do a Food Review on the Singapore hawker in new york? I think it is called Urban Hawker.
good idea coming to Singapore for food content, mikey :D you'll get a lot of mileage out of all the options

So funny...I recently watched an older video you did where you wouldn't eat any raw...lol...huge fan...
The best poratta ive ever had is literally in my hometown...crazy flakey
Thank you for introducing me to *Hocker Centers*. I would love to visit one!
when it takes a foreign youtuber to show you awesome food in your home country that you didn't know about despite living in the country for almost 30 years lol
Hi Mike, don’t recall you visiting the Bukit Timah/Beauty World area. Why not give it a try; quite a number of good eateries. 😊
Mike pls try the famous “crispy prata” at Serangoon north!!
If you want to try prata you should try springleaf prata. The egg prata is a must order for me.
coin prata at 24 sin ming road (very near where you're holed up at) is a must try! i dare say way better than the one beside upper thomson mrt that you mentioned.
Hey Mike! If you haven't tried Tiffin Room in Singapore, you should try it

100% agree with the Upper Thomson prata. You can check out Springleaf for their sheer variety.
You got to try Mitsuba buffet at Clarke Quay Central - this one pales in comparison to that godly stuff
Loving all things Singapore right now. Are you going to go to the GP?
Try paper thosai before you leave!! omg I have it for supper all the time
Please try Springleaf Prata Place soon! You might wanna change your favorite prata place after trying it. Its just right outside Springleaf MRT station.
wonderful ey sushi cones yum, tempura veggies, sweet potatoes , zucchini, prawns . man I miss the sushi restraunt in Vancouver elcarte I use to go to . crispy squid rings and legs yummy with sweet chili or tempura dip. teriyaki chicken is yum too . and baked oyster in mayo sauce. I only eat wild salmon, I like crispy salmon skin sushi.
Mike, kudos to you. You'll get used to the SEA humidity if you hang around - which I hope you do. I'm so pleased how your palate has progressed regarding raw Japanese food. You were very uneasy before. Now you seem to genuinely enjoy which is great. For your next 1M plus videos I suggest you return to Japan and have fugu and torisashi. Japan is open for biz! Daub will set you up! Nice work son.
roti chanai ! the best!
that salmon belly is the best i've seen
Any other Singaporeans here watching Mikey’s video and taking note of where to eat? Hahaha
Hope you got coffee from the Bull Dog stall - prob one of the best hawker center coffees out there (if it's still open. And aside from the one at Golden Mile.)
“The food might not come as fast as I like but it does come hot… cold soba”
Mike, they're pronounced prah-tah 😂
Found you can purchase on Amazon that Ohayo Pudding. Pudding set. Hope this helps!
Mike, please explore Geylang Serai and try Malay foods! :D
Mike you should try casuarina curry also near Thomson
Very yummy!
hi mike i heard you have tried most of the chicken rice stores but try rong ji chicken rice at redhill market
Welcome to Singapore 🇸🇬
mikey: "...they all do come piping hot.... now lets taste COLD soba..." XD
You must try the sukiyaki beef at Himawari
