it just struck me when I read on a local newspaper here that NZ has got only 23 listed professional players, JUST enough to make the entire squad, and which made all the campaign even more remarkable. the only team I fully supported in the WC. kudos from Indonesia

I'm not from NZ but I was proud to see NZ in the World Cup 2010...They didn't do bad in the world cup compare to Italy since they got 3rd place and italy got last place in their group...It shows that NZ is getting stronger in Football..Cheer from NYC!!

Por allí leo que alguien dice que los neozelandeses son racistas por decir "All Whites" eso es ser ignorante. La frase "All Whites" hace referencia al uniforme totalmente blanco del equipo de fútbol y no tiene nada que ver con el color de piel de una persona. Y si alguien tiene dudas, vean al equipo neozelandés de rugby, a los que se les denomina "All Blacks" porque su uniforme es totalmente negro. Lo que hay que leer.

No sólo eso, sino que el nombre "All Whites" es por oposición a los "All Blacks", que son el mejor seleccionado del mundo en rugby (mientras que en fútbol NZL es flojito). Es decir, primero fueron los All Blacks. Pero el ignorante es ignorante, no hay nada que hacerle.

Something to keep in the 'Favorites' folder for as long as KZread exists.* The final few minutes were very similar to that other great qualification play-off in Singapore 1982. All Whites leading 2-1, but exhuasted in the draining heat after a record long campaign, a hostile crowd and ref, FIFA wishing for China to play at Espana '82, and what seemed like eight minutes of 'injury' time.

its so weird watching our rugby and soccer crowds. We are more fanatical about rugby yet our rugby crowds even for the Allblacks are not this vocal and enthusiastic.

@BoratKazakstan It is getting bigger and bigger here too. That Match was at one of our biggest stadiums (capacity 36,000), Westpac Stadium, AKA The Cake Tin, in Wellington and while ticket sales were initially slow the match sold out within a week of the drawn first leg in Bahrain. Also the day when the All Blacks squad for the mid-year tours from European sides (usually leads sports news) was the day after the All Whites upset Serbia 1-0, and the All Whites were lead the sports new that day.

Notice how after this match FIFA never gave Oceania a fair chance to qualify. For 2014 World Cup we had to beat Mexico to qualify. Then for this World Cup we had to beat Peru. Two teams that are way better than New Zealand. It's better to have us face Asian Opposition to at least give us a chance to win.

It's just luck of the draw. Oceania usually gets Asia, South America, or North America. Australia have had Argentina and Uruguay twice. Just be grateful you got someone as weak as Bahrain, because that was like winning the lottery.
