@Rizzo 1. High paying trade job (and hell, those don’t pay THAT kinda money in your twenties. You gotta put in serious time for that) 2. Great luck finding a well paying job after college, and somehow still able to afford those cars with the mountain of debt they’ve accumulated. Or hey, maybe they worked hard and got a full ride to college. If so, more power to them. 3. The bank of mom and dad, or sadder, their inheritance. 4. Success with investments 5. Started a business at an early age and saw success. 6. This one is the most likely, they’re lying on the internet. If this person was a boomer, I’d believe it cause back then they had it all and took advantage of it, and are the primary reason the cars young people want are unattainable to them today. Judging by the cars they claim to have had before 30 though, I don’t think they are. You’re doing fine. Don’t get caught up in what other people say they’re doing, or how much money they claim to make.

Best 30min I've spent in a long time on KZread!!! Loved seeing your cars over the years and that you still keep track of them and their whereabouts with the VIN numbers. Now it's time to make a video about the next cars you'll be wanting in the future if you came across them and were in a position to buy them right now!! Also...where do you store all the cars you own? I can't imagine that you have them all parked one right after the other on the street or in a parking-lot...if you did, your neighbors must really love you to not complain. lol, I know I wouldn't!! Thanks for the amazing videos Doug
I’ve been a subscriber since 2013 and I watched all Doug videos and I can tell unlike other KZread channels “KBB” you are not just about one car brand like “Honda” you do like cars and that’s why I keep watching your videos. Thanks Doug!

So much nostalgia for those of us that have been with you since the start
I still argue the original Stinger for 50k msrp (which in reality you could easily buy new for low 40s) was the best new car for money. It was very sporty, practical and fairly luxurious with great tech all for sub 50k .. it way out punches it weight! Only reason why I sold my mine was due to the crazy market and I almost made 20k on a lease turn and it allowed me to jump to a 718s. But I loved that car
14:00 "I bought this car off someone who was being deported, like, that week. Like he lost his job which was tied to his green card; he had to go. And so like, he didn't have any real negotiating room so I bought this car like, really cheap from him and then paid no sales tax on it {laughs}" Yikes. I feel awful for the guy. I hope he's okay.

I'm a middle-class dude, so I can't afford a lot in terms of cars. The Kia Stinger looks, good and I've always thought it was a decent proposition for price/performance. I remember when Doug reviewed it he said, "The only downside is, that you'll have to defend to your friends because its a Kia." Idk if they're really gonna cancel the Stinger, but that's something I'd consider if I'm every in the market again.
@Blubberbusen
Жыл бұрын
I'm earning like 2k€ a month so i would consider myself middle class as well and bought a Kia Stinger for 28k€ Feb last year. It is very manageable with the costs. Never had any issues, bought it with 103.000km on it and put around 32.000km on it without any repairing. Love it everytime I drive. I'm from Germany so the alternative from luxury brand is very far out of my ballpark in terms of costs. Audi and BMW for example with similar specs go for 2-2.5x that cost easy. Also 7 years/ 150.000km warranty baby. Get one, it's an awesome car!

Luv this video Doug, it's amazing how much you still follow on the cars/trucks that you sold after you drove them. You have a variety of brands but we know how much you luv your German Engineer cars. Volvo 850 Turbo for your 1st car is a great selection, it's a great sporty sedan and 222 hp back then it's a lot and I wish Volvo was following it up with that younger, hip approach but sadly they ditch that trending success. Luv the stories behind each vehicle that you owned, those memories are priceless. I didn't know there is a G-Wagon 2-dr cabriolet. Keep up your hardwork and success!
Doug is one of the best car reviewers for a reason. For the typical car buyer/enthusiast, his reviews are spot on with good balance. Not all enthusiast care about speed… but the feel a car gives. Doug talks about that from his experience
Bravo. You are a true automotive enthusiast and this video only proves it.
My first car was a 2000 Ford Explorer XLT. Silver, AWD with the 302 Windsor, and cloth seats. Learned how to drive in the snow and ice in GA with that thing. I'd probably still have it but it had to be sold years ago. The first car I've ever bought was a '06 M5 with the SMG. Got it around 2013 I think and still have it. Love that damn thing.
Thanks for this video Doug! Awesome

I respect your love all cars mantra so much. So many people cannot wrap their heads around just loving cars, and instead think you have to have a brand you're die hard loyal to.
I hear you about the Stinger. I had one too for 2 years, I think it was the first car I REALLY REALLY LOVED (after 20 years of owning various cars). Last year I sold it to Carmax because they made an offer I couldnt refuse and bought its sibling, the G70, which is quite similar. But I still miss the Stinger 😞

Love seeing the variety Doug! My cars: 91' Mazda 323F GT; 98' Renault Megane coupe 16V; 02' Ford Focus ST170; 87' VW Polo Coupe that died on me while on the road lol; Smart 4two as I had no more space; 08' Peugeot 307 cc; 11' Jetta Variant 2.5 and currently a 10' Mini Cooper S. I'm loving it!
Doug the type of dude to cheerfully recount the tale of his previously ownde vehicle being involved in the deaths of two people.
well this sure puts things into perspective, as I am 40 and have owned all of 5 cars, lol 1st was a Geo Metro 4cyl (16-18) 2nd was a 2001 Hyundai Accent (18 to 27) 3rd was a VW Corrado VR6 (23 to 29) 4th was a chevy cobalt (28 to 37) and now my 2019 Camaro (37 to current) you sure have been around the automotive block! lol

In the U.K. anything more powerful than a Geo Metro would have unaffordable insurance for a 17 year old. Ford discontinued the Escort RS Cosworth because even 40 year olds couldn't afford the insurance.
thanks for the overview love you man you are the best
Great video Doug!
Ah yes the EDIT v2
I’ve had three cars so far. A 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix, a 2012 Volkswagen CC, and now my current car a 2016 Toyota Camry.
24:00 yep, that's me. I watched the video where Doug strapped the TV to his 360 right when it was uploaded and have been subscribed ever since. Can't believe that was over 8 years ago!
Thanks for what you do
