I've been creating KZread content for about 7 years alongside my commercial photography business and workshops. At the start of this year, I decided to go all in and just concentrate on KZread, landscapes and workshops. It's a little daunting leaving a commercial photography business that I had spent so many years building, but sometimes you've just got to follow your dreams. So a big thanks to everyone who supports and follows my work, I couldn't do this without you. 🙏 www.iworthphotos.com

After watching this video and seeing your heartfelt gratitude for your viewers and subscribers, I realized that there was one last bit of gear that you have that you forgot to mention: A photographer who happens to be a genuine, kind, thoughtful, friendly and talented human being. Well done Ian!

Hi Ian, The reason lots of people watch your video's in my view is because you come across extremely well and seem like a really good bloke. you are very informative and genuine, in my view. I can't do what you do so just try to learn as much as I can at my old age. well done and thank you so much. Colin Devon uk....

Thanks Colin, that means a lot buddy, Devon is a wonderful part of the world 👍
I prefer the landscape shot, but only because the boat has more breathing room to it's right rather than being very close to the edge of the frame in the portrait shot. I'd be happy to have taken either! Congratulations on 50k subscribers Ian. I think what sets you (and Henry) apart from the crowd is that (imho) most of your viewers can relate to you as a person we'd be happy to bump into on a shoot, or in the bar! You both also show it how it is in real world situations that most of us could find ojurselves in if we put the effort in, there's nothing unattainable for the average person in your vlogs. You don't always get the light, sometimes it rains (and rains.....), and you show it how it is. Keep up the great work.

Congratulations on 50k Ian! I like the balance between field photography and post-processing. And love the 16x9 cinematic look to your videos! But you're my favorite KZread photography channel, mostly because of your honest, humble, and down to earth personality. You deserve every one of your followers. I wish you continued good luck and happiness doing what you love to do. Keep up the great content!!

I’m glad I found your channel a couple of months or so ago. Personally, I feel we subscribers should thank you for taking the time to get out into the rain or shine, in amongst fantastic scenery, having walked some km’s to get there, and adding some beautiful images to your videos. I also watch Henry‘s channel, and the same goes for him. The two of you together seem like chalk and cheese, but by golly, you guys work so well together! It‘s lovely to see two humble guys putting out great content! Many thanks from Oz.🇦🇺

Hi Ian, your and Henry's channels are my two favourite photography channels. Always a treat to see you both working together. I've been following (subscribed) and liking (of course) for quite a while now but I dont think I've dropped a comment here to thank you before. I have invested in your composition e-book and for anyone else reading this : it is a great *investment*. I've learned a lot from both the e-book and following you here. I keep going back to both as one lesson learned seems to then open up more yet to learn or makes connections to other topics which suddenly make the penny drop. One day, I'd love to do a workshop. One day! As you were talking kit in the video, I'm also shooting Fuji, started off with the original X100 when my system camera was a Canon. After initially thinking I didn't need to invest in a new system, Fuji won me over. I soon ended up with an XPro 1 then 2 and then onto an X-H1 and now an X-T5 which I love using. Keep up your excellent work, having a new video of yours to watch is always something to look forward to and to learn from.

I know that I look forward to each week's video because I can feel the passion you have right through the screen!! You have such an understandable approach to teaching and such a positive attitude. I hope that one day I will be able to get over there and do a 1 to 1 workshop. It's definitely right at the tip top of my bucket list. Take care of yourself.

Unbelievable. I have the same camera and the same 3 lens. I got recently the 100-400 and the 80mm macro as I want to explore more of the intimate landscape side of things, but I truly love this kit. Great image quality, fantastic versatility and I dont feel the need at all for full frame. In fact if I ever feel the need for more, I would just probably go GFX route. Cheers and congrats for a fantastic channel. Its always a pleasure to see your videos, and not only for the cool gear you use :)

Hi Ian, always a pleasure to follow your videos. As many of your followers say, there are several excellent photographers on KZread, but your approach is unique and you remain yourself, focused on taking photos and nothing else, that's what I like. We learn a lot. My choice for the most beautiful photo of the boat is number 1. I tried to find the model of your L-Bracket which seems minimalist on the vertical side, a simple arca swiss square. Can you give me the model? Thank you and great job...I love it, from the province of Quebec, Canada.

Ian, what I love about your style of photography is, while you use primes, you are not part of the Prime Lens Mafia. May KZread photographers would never use a zoom lens for shots. But you do, and I love that. P.S., what is a "Bothy?"

Another excellent video. I prefer #2. It's a little better balanced and allows more breathing room to the right of the boat. Also, have you looked at the Tamron 17-70 f/2.8? Excellent alternative to Fuji's standard zooms.
