Personally, as a diehard lgbtq+ activist myself, if you get a choice like that in games like this, I never felt that you should go with the gay option. Not that you go with the straight option though. If you’re attracted to girls, go with the girl. If you’re attracted to boys go with the boy. If you’re bisexual, nice. That’s kind of what those choices are made for (I think at least)

I chose to stay in Haven because I think it'd be nice for Alex to have that stability in her life for a while and enjoy having somewhere she belongs. In my headcanon though I like to think that choosing to stay doesn't totally close the door on travel a few years down the line, especially if Steph got that itch again. Also as a side note, I feel kinda bad for Ryan in this ending; his best friend died, a month later his other two best friends leave and his dad in going to prison for at least attempted murder

@@Wagelbagel203 if Steph had still been dead set on leaving then sure, I'd probably have Alex leave with her, but it's not like you have to try and persuade Steph to stay if you want to have it both ways. She comes to you in the epilogue and states of her own volition that what she really wants is to be with Alex, which I think is an extension of what she says on the roof about Alex always putting other people's feelings first and that it's time she was able to do something for herself. At that point what's right for Alex is really is down to player agency- it's not like picking one or the other is 'bad'- so if what you wanted to do was travel then totally fair enough

Steph be looking like a lovestruck puppy though, she damn adorable as heck with her whipped eyes and awestruck expression clearly blinded by the impromptu marriage proposal from Alex because she almost didn't think of it as part of the LARP but in real life but she had to snap herself back to reality since Ethan was in the room and it was too sudden a move from Alex but in the near future, it's gonna happen for real and not just some make believe imagination. Given what we've found out concerning the game's development, it certainly feels like the option to romance Ryan felt tacked-on, since (despite all of the LiS MC's being canonically BISEXUAL, Steph being a LESBIAN gay disaster, and Ryan either being a himbo straight ally to the LGBTQIAP+ community or, perhaps, actually having unrequited feelings for Gabe that were left unsaid, for obvious reasons, but were, perchance, transposed to Gabe's sister Alex as a result) Square Enix didn't want LiS: TC to be seen as just "the gay game" in the franchise.

The game includes a feature for people streaming gameplay to be able to mute licenced music; useful for avoiding copyright strikes but it kinda ruins some scenes like the end where it's just left totally silent as they didn't seem to think of including something alternative to play instead
