Glad we got the Connor on Canada team. One of if not the current best player in the world. We need crosby on there too and we're set.

I think Finland's best team ever was 2006 Torino olympics team with Selänne, Koivu, Numminen etc. But today we have more finnish star players in NHL. Rantanen, Aho, Barkov, Heiskanen, Hintz, Saros and the list continues.

They’ll be there at the Olympics in 2026 and World Cup in 2028! It’s just next year they won’t be, because they don’t have the time to plan a large world tournament with one years notice.

They should have just continued the World Cup of Hockey.

I would like to see all best players playing, excluding those individuals who have personally participated in ANY war. If individuals from the countries of attacking countries are to be banned fom participating international games, then players from USA would have to be excluded as well. Guilt by association is collective thinking, thus it's unjust.

Just let them play Olympics and World Championship alongside their NHL commitments like they want Gary....stop trying to control everything. All you need to do is extend the off season making International Hockey a logistical possibility.

Why cant Bettman have a gimmicky All Star team made up of NHL players from Russia, Czechs, Slovaks, Germans, Swiss, etc .. like he did with his North American and Europe Allstar teams back in 2018 , when he denied Canadian fans the opportunity to see McDavid, MacKinnon n Crosby iplay together? I'm sure you can probably make two teams.

It is not a world cup, it is an enterntainment cup. As majority does not support Russian actions as a state, the Russian government is under heavy sanctions in every category. So if you are angry that Russians are not allowed to play, blame the Russian government.

They're not being punished. Representing your country in an international tournamenament is a priviledge and an honor. Not a right. It's pretty obvious now that many of y'all on that side of the pond have trouble understanding the implications that letting Russia back in to these events would have. They are the single biggest threat to all of Europe, which is why we will not be taking part in anything they are involved in until the war ends in Ukraine's favor. The choices are a smaller tournament between north America and Russia (boycotted by everyone else) or international competitions with 4 countries, with more in the future
