Maybe for one part of the melody, yeah thus could totally be just a motif. But the fact that Dialtone is entirely made from the world revolving just kinda makes me think that there's a bigger connection between Spamton and Jevil besides both being short, memeable bosses

@@micahlehrke9 I think they will be all linked by being things that are generally discarded. Jevil is the Joker card, which is always discarded from the deck before the cards are dealt. Spamton is spam mail, which people over the age of 9 and under the age of 70 generally ignore or "discard". The secret boss of Chapter 3 will likely be the flowers Asgore told you to give to Toriel, because she threw them in the trash, discarding them. Likewise, the final secret boss could possibly be the vessel you made at the start of Chapter 1, as it said that the vessel would "now be discarded."

Hearing bits of The World Revolving in Spamton's themes is what made me remember "oh yeah Jevil isn't an insane boss that was scientifically crafted for the very very end of DeltaRune he was just a huge part of Chapter 1" Probably felt that way because having only 1 Chapter of DeltaRune for 2 years made Jevil feel like a much more major endgame type character (He could still be pretty important in future Chapters though) shoutouts to Nightmare Knight for using instruments from Kirby's Dream Land 3 by the way I'm a huge fan of the song solely because of my Kirby bias

I still believe Jevil will play a key part in later chapters as he is still alive in the form of the Jevils knife/ tail. Not only that but he is also powerful since he can sense Noels power and what she is capable of. It is also important to mention that unlike other characters from chapter one, Jevil does not turn to stone upon entering another dark world further deepening the mystery behind his origins. One more note is to pay attention to Seam I reckon he knows everything and will most likely be a key part in uncovering the origins behind Jevil who in my opinion will be the key to the entire law of the game

This leitmotif is related to characters which somewhat relate to "freedom" its most likely that its the leitmotif of every single Deltarune secret boss (also in the future chapters) and also propably the knight but i'm not sure about that one. For now we can call it the leitmotif of The World Revolving but we should start calling it the "freedom" leitmotif

I wouldn't use this name in this particular case cause the supposed "freedom" theme in TWR are the B and C parts (they are in Dialtone and BIG SHOT), but The Chase and The Door ( Nightmare Knight by extension) all use the A part.

I think the "A" part of the motif actually originates from "Nightmare Knight" as opposed to TWR, while the other one that people call the "Freedom" motif is a separate thing

I have 2 things to point out: First, I think The Circus leitmotif is actually the C part since it matches a lot more with 1:15 (the beginning of that part in The World Revolving even fits with this part of The CIrcus 1:55) Second, Dialtone and The Circus share a leitmotif, example: 1:44 with 2:48 Also it's really interesting that The Door and The Chase share this leitmotif, especially considering that those themes also show up in Ch2.

I think the main reason to think the circus is B instead of C is the tail of the leitmotif between the two sections. In B the notes are something like - v - ^ v - while C is "flatter" with - v - ^ - -. Dialtone is flat, while the circus includes this low note into higher note. Hadn't noticed the bassline was reminiscent between them, though. Something neat to note is that the middle section of the world revolving shares this - v - ^ structure as an opening to the motif (- v - ^ - v - ^^ - v - ^^^ - v - ...), which suggests that the four note phrase is what the entire song is built around. It might also be all of the notes used in Gaster's theme (v - ^ -), just in a different order, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know if they're the same or just vaguely similar.

yeah, circus definitely sounds like B to me. B: The Circus, THE WORLD REVOLVING (0:20), BIG SHOT (0:54) C: Dialtone, THE WORLD REVOLVING (1:00) Dialtone and The Circus might be related, but i think that's just a standard waltz backing. A Town Called Hometown does something similar, but i doubt that that makes them related. it's interesting. why do they sound so similar? (- _ - ^ v - ) vs (- _ - ^ - -), it's just the tail that's different. i saw some people start calling it the "freedom leitmotif", but i'm not even sure why at this point. of B and C, which one is it? do both count? if spamton's themes only took from C, or only took from B, i could see that as being a general "freedom motif", but it's hard to say when both characters share both themes.

@@pkchiptune I'd probably pin the leitmotif to (- _ - ^) since this is used in the third/middle section of the music in The World Revolving (- _ - ^ - _ - ^^ - _ - ^^^ - _ -). It feels like everything in The World Revolving is built on that four note phrase, it's just integrated in different ways.

According to the blog "notesanddreams", many of these The World Revolving themes contain the first three notes of Gaster's Theme, which may or may not be notable. I think they made some interesting connections about those first three notes and I haven't seen anyone else talk about it.

I also can’t wait for the next secret boss theme! I wonder if it will sound similar to Hopes & Dreams or Finale, considering that it will be in the house with the hymn book and discarded flowers? BIG SHOT and THE WORLD REVOLVING mixed with Finale or Hopes & Dreams is something that I never thought of before, but it could potentially sound really good.

Man, is little things like the leitmotifs that connect everything with anything in undertale/deltarune The world revolving sounding in BIG SHOT just resembles the little connections both Jevil and spamtom have with each other: -They're both secret bosses -Both are related to freedom, while at the same time reminding kris what freedom could do to him -They're both....crazy somehow -And they both have way more knowledge about the world around them than you could imagine BIG SHOT also has a part of the song Power of NEO, since Spamtom looks like Mettaton NEO and well, his is Spamtom NEO Honestly, I could write a really, REALLY LONG comment on all the leitmotifs and their connections and meanings, but that would be too much, the point is: I love music.

Spamton isn’t really a secret boss he has a route where you have to fight him while jevil you don’t have to fight in either of routes like pascifist or genecide

@@DemiIsNotHere The Dummy! leitmotif makes more of a reference to the fact that Spamton and the Dummy are both nothing more than puppets, stuck without any real control or freedom, and both are discarded, forgotten things.

I don’t think this is necessarily “the world revolving leitmotif”, but instead just a general secret boss leitmotif. It’s become pretty clear that deltarune will have some sort of secret boss for every chapter who wishes for freedom in some form and is related to gaster and/or the knight

I think that they are more in relation to Gaster than the Knight. Mainly because Spamton NEO and Seam directly reference Gaster (Seam says that his vision of the world has become darker, yet darker, and Spamton NEO tells Kris that he wants both of them to be 'VERY VERY BIG'.

I’ve never heard Nightmare Knight, but it sounds like an old Kirby song, specifically reminds me of songs from Kirby 64 The Crystal Shards. I really like it!!!

Tbh, I personally refer to the leitmotif shared between all these songs as "Crackling Freedom", since both Jevil and Spamton have had the flavor text "the air crackles with freedom...!" show up during their "secret boss" battles. In fact, I'm thinking that there will actually be a track with that approximate name later on, probably while fighting The Knight...?

I'm betting that if we ever do fight The Knight, that they'll have a flavor text in their fight of "Freedom arcs through the air" or another such "step up" from the common flavor that Spamton and Jevil have.

i definitely hear it in Chase and Door. i really like the idea of it being the Vessel Motif, being used for Kris, Jevil, Spamton, and probably the next secret bosses

This was really just a way of letting Nightmare Knight play out entirely, and I approve, complete slapper.

I think we'll see more of these leimotif in the future too, specially part C. It's more like the shadow boss leimotif imo

The bit of Don't Forget that makes up part of The World Revolving also shows up as the overture that plays whenever you're getting ready to seal a dark fountain.

2 years late, but the "I'm with you in the dark" part is featured throughout at least half of the songs in the game

I think this motif will show up in every Shadow Crystal boss moving forward (assuming we got one like Spamton/Jevil in every chapter after this.) If the Gaster theories are true, this motif is probably reflecting his role in the game

I find it very interesting that the themes most closely related to Ralsei's Dark World have that leitmotif, considering it's probably the secret boss leitmotif.

More accurately, you're hearing the last bit of Don't Forget ("I'm with you in the dark") in the ending segment of TWR. Don't Forget is a tune heard in several songs of Deltarune's OST.

Nightmare Knight also reminds me of amalgam from the undertale ost

I SERIOUSLY need all the missing secret bosses to also want to be free so I can listen to this fricking leitmotif in every chapter.

Part B and C of the world revolving lietmotif share a very similar section (0:21 and 1:07) thats probably gonna turn into the secret boss lietmotif

I personally believe that the motif in ‘the door’ is actually just ‘the legend’, but I can hear it being the world revolving as well.

Dialtone has always been one of my favorite tracks of chapter 2 because it sounds so desolate and eerie. Really compliments Spamton as a character and makes his shop seem more unnerving.

I think every Chapter has a similarity in the Bonus Boss, being at the basement of the last area(Card Kingdom and Queen's Mansion), is hard, has that one part in The World Revolving and plays their prelude themes.

Well, bonus bosses' themes have a lot of motifs. The Circus (which I think is more of a motif than THE WORLD REVOLVING) can be heard in some Jevil and Spamton tracks - Dialtone is the best example, but it's also the main motif of THE WORLD REVOLVING. BIG SHOT has so many motifs - Spamton, THE WORLD REVOLVING, Power Of NEO, Ghost Fight and Dummy!. You can also hear The Legend motif in Jevil battle theme, just like in The Chase.

The Legend and Don't Forget motifs are in most CH 1 soundtracks.

I think you should tackle Final Fantasy tracks too. There's so many connected songs in Nobuo Uematsu's works, and it's always good to pay homage to the classics.

Nightmare Knight sounds much more like an early version of The Legend to me (and some other bits sound more like Amalgam). Cool to see how Toby reuses the same similar sorts of things throughout his work!

I love the world revolving still, despite big shot and pandora palace are incredible songs, these 3 I mentioned are my top 3

The other two songs Toby made for Webcomics got added to Undertale, i see no reason for Nightmare Knight to not be a theme song for The Knight in Deltarune, whomever that is.

Those bonus ones could possibly be a leitmotif of something we have yet to get to, possibly in reference to the knight that we have yet to see at all since two of them have to do with the introduction to the dark world and the final one having the word "knight" in it. As a far more out there theory, considering this is also in a strong part of the world revolving it could possibly tie the secret bosses together with the knight. Even MORE out there though is slapping on all the stuff pointing to gaster in some way being a strong role in the story that may only be revealed should the player hunt down all the secret bosses

the one in big shot is probably the most noticable, I often don't even hear the main theme behind it

If you're going to include Nightmare Knight, I think it's important to mention that 0:38 in The World Revolving sounds similar to both a part in Nightmare Knight, and the end of Attack of the Killer Queen! Specifically TWR motif 5. 4:00 Knew it continued there, though wondered for a bit why I could only pick it up clearly on working headphones. Love how it uses the CORE synth too, another connection to Mettaton! 6:35 Oh never realized the pan flue plays that motif again, good ear.

I think the "A" part will be VERY inportant even apart from the rest of Freedom motif and it reminds me of Jevil's line "THE HAND OF THE KNIGHT IS DRIFTING FORWARD " and "FROM NOW, A NIGHTMARE WILL AWAKEN IN YOUR HEARTS. IN THE SHADOW OF THE KNIGHT'S HAND... LIGHTNERS, CAN YOU STOP IT?"

There is also this leitmotif (IT'S LITTERALLY THE SAME SONG) in "Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story" in the song "Tough Guy Alert!"

I forgot Nightmare Knight was a song he did. Still love the Kirby vibes it gives (Honestly, probably uses one of those soundfonts. Lol). I think the last 3 are likely more coincidence than anything. I see the motif being used mostly as the superboss motif (Or the "Freedom" motif if they all end up having the same theming like Jevil and Spamton do).

I'm gonna bet that Toby might use the leitmotif of TWR in Big Shot to every secret bosses too (if it's still about "Freedom"). Like the leitmotif that shows their connection to each other.

Some people said parts of circus is heard in attack of the killer queen, I can't super pose the songs but a comment in a theme video has the timestamps

You should do a video on the leitmotiv found in The Circus (the rhythm one, instead of the melody), also found in Dialtone, Lantern and possibly others but I haven't paid attention. I thought I heard it in Giga Size but when I listened to it I coudn't, so either it was my imagination, or it was in another song

I'm hoping in like 1-2 years when the next 3 chapters come out that this whole world revolving reference in the music continues, it really adds to it

I can't imagine this melody fitting in anything else, and if this melody does end up being used again, it would mean that Jevil has *nothing* to call his own. Toby can do what he wants (or should I say, ANYTHING?), but still, don't do Jevil dirty

The actual part that seems to be shared among all secret bosses is only what this video calls “part B” or “the _Freedom_ leitmotif” as the fandom calls it.

Hate to break it to you but that part's already been reused. Just not in a SB's theme It's the main leitmotif for Queen, not Jevil lmfao
