Kirin is probably the most underrated and underused jutsu in the anime HELL it's even hella broken in the games like imagine lightning hitting straight on you 3 times in the games like if someone knows how to use sasuke well he could hit the ultimate like 10 times since kirin gives you 3 tries...also it pretty much made naruto storm 3 Super easy going through the 5 kage summit.

Susanoo’s yatamir can deflect all Ninjutsu and Taijutsu, plus he wasn’t even going all out during the fight. Plus without a thunderstorm naturally occurring, it takes a shit ton of chakra to send all the fireball jutsu into the air.

Bradley Smith we don’t even know what he’s capable of aside from his Mangekyou powers for the most org tho since we’ve seen him fight twice and he only tried one of those 2 times. Stuff we do know tho are his exploding shadow clones which no one else has ever used, his shuriken jutsu (mostly referring to the flaming shuriken attack) and his fire release techniques being very very powerful. From what we’ve seen of Itachi, Sasuke prob passed him strictly in terms of developing jutsu like Kirin and all the chidori variants like chidori senban, but there’s so much we haven’t seen..

Not really, Itachi was dying and he wanted Sasuke to kill him anyway. In the war arc edo itachi was fighting kcm naruto and killer b at the same time.

Considering that the Naruto mangaka highly respects the mangaka of HunterxHunter, Togashi, and was inspired by him for his Narutoseries (for example the red Kurtaeyes) itś not far fetched to say that Sasukes move was inspired by Togashi. In Togashis Series Yu Yu Hakusho is a character named Hiei (who btw has some similarities character-wise with Sasuke) who also uses a dragon which is surrounded by a lightning-looking substance (it’s spiritual power though, not real lightning like Sasukes).

Kishimoto had two interviews with Togashi and never cited Kurapika. Only Hiei. In another he mentioned Jiraiya from ninja folklore as inspiration for Sharingan as well (type in Kishimoto Kobayashi interview). Amaterasu was taken from Dragon of the Darkness flames but Kirin never crossed my mind. A while ago I heard theres a character named "Sasuke Sarutobi" (name taken from ninja folklore from the 1800s) in Samurai Deeper Kyo who uses a technique similar to Kirin, but I wanted to avoid spoilers so I didn't look into it much. That Sasuke has a Naruto-Sasuke esque relationship from what I recall (this is 5 years ago by the way). The blogger (I think it was made in 2007) accurately (or near) predicted how Naruto and Sasuke would end up. Shortly later I read the first 100 chapters but got bored and dropped it (partially due to my personal circumstances at the time plus the shitty translation & scan quality). I'll give it another shot. Sasuke appeared about 50 chapters in.

It's a little misleading because of the circumstances of what the name is based off of! I was confused AF too at first. After some googling, I discovered that Masashi Kishimoto named it for a mythological beast in both chinese and japanese lore/history, the Qilin , which translates to Kirin in Japanese. Kirin is the Japanese word for Giraffe as well. Maybe someone who fluently understands Japanese can correct me but when Sasuke is saying 'Kirin' the context of it may not mean giraffe directly as in I don't think Sasuke is essentially saying, "Die with the roar of thunder, Giraffe!" but that you'd probably understand the reference to the other meaning of the dragon beast of mythological lore, the Qilin .
