Times like these really make me realise how much we take the cross over for granted lol. The comedy value of Mickey mouse being in the same game as a pink-haired, scythe wielding emo man in a black trench coat, who also literally says "Sink into the darkness" in combat, is immense

I really liked seeing the new cutscenes. I ended up playing the game and cutting in the new cutscenes throughout. But I agree, a full remaster would have been welcome. This is one of the best storylines in the series.

Extremely underrated, you can literally play as Luxu the Master Of Master’s lost apprentice

I personally think 358/2 Days is a bit of an underrated/over-hated gem. I just wish it got the full remaster treatment in the 1.5 HD ReMix collection. My only real gripes with the game were always that some of the more challenging bosses in the Organization were some of the worst characters to use, and that movement and camera controls were stiff due to being limited to 8 directions and being limited to L and R for the camera, something a full remaster via 1.5 would have fixed.

358/2 Days and Coded were unexpectedly good, especially when you consider their hardware. Blowing them up like this, they feel much closer to a full game. I have enjoyed playing these now as an adult and I'd love it if they'd hand it over to a small developer to remaster - something that wouldn't interfere with Kingdom Hearts 4.

To be fair in their defense as sad as it won't probably get it, I can at least see why Square didn't do it, too much risk because even for birth by sleep most they need to do is improve the graphics to give it a cleaner look for hd and rewrite some of the code. 358 2 days would pretty much have to start from the bottom up to make a new game entirely due to the lack of a second screen and entirely different hardware. Yeah you can argue that if that was the case then why did DDD get a remake but it was the main game of that collection vs being one of the side games.

​@@elliotthefennekin6506from what I understand the reason they didn't remake it is because it would've had to have been rebuilt from the ground up. At the time of the remakes they were working on kh3 basically making everything with entirely new software thats why it took so long. The reason Com was remade was because they had the time to do so. Technically they could still remake 358 and recoded but why bother doing that when you can make something new.

One aspect I love about this game is how not only does Roxas get several unique keyblades, but so does every single Org XIII member too. They each get unique weapon skins along with joke weapons. Sad that the unlockable characters don't get any aside from Goofy and Donald who get 2 Org XIII weapons

I love the video! Here a tip: For Demyx’s limit, if you keep to a rhythm, the more water pillars you’ll get, ending with a big explosion at the end!

Fact : Although Luxord is Nomura's favorite Organization XIII member, Xigbar is his favorite character to play as here.

Mickey’s and Lexaeus’ Limits can be charged by holding A, and they can be charged further during the Final Limits, resulting in colossal damage, especially from Mickey. Sora’s Limit gets more damage if you press the button the moment you see the white circle appear in front of Sora. It’s a bit hard to explain, but it’s basically a sweet spot when timing. It’s the same way with Marluxia’s Limit, you want to wait until right when the dark circle around him turns white. From what I can tell, there is no way to properly control DW Roxas’ Limit, the D-Pad buttons might let you control it a little bit, but I can’t really tell. To me it barely matters though, as he’s genuinely one of the strongest characters in the game due to his Aerial Finisher having a crap ton of hitboxes. That aside though, I really hope this gets a remake, and that they keep the multiplayer options for Mission Mode, cause this is so much fun to play on the DS.

His moveset is actually exactly the same as original KH. The Y-button combo is a separate combo tree available to most characters (like X, X, Y; instead of X, X, X). The creator of this video only demonstrated the Y-button combos for every single character, for some reason.

I always thought of Days being like Monster Hunter, but, on a diet. The playable characters from Mission Mode even follow that same diversity in weapon class options, I wish I could play this with people one day for fun. XD

Kingdom Hearts meet ups should have multiplayer areas so we can all experience this again!

Good thing the player chosen King Mickey, Donald, and Goofy as a playable characters.

This right here is the reason that I will always highly recommend playing through days on a DS other than just watching the movie on the console this is the only time they've ever allowed you to play as other characters and most likely it will be the only time they do it even though I wish they would bring it back

Yeah, it's definitely unique to Days! Hopefully one day we get other ways to play with these characters. It'd be easy to explain away too with the various data-worlds and arenas that have been created through the series.

Seeing how far KH3 modding went with its playable characters, it's still blasphemous how SE still doesn't understand that fans want to play as the 20 other characters shown throughout the series. Especially with how the Org, XIII members are now free from Xehanort's control, it's perfectly plausible to have them playable. I'd love to see Ienzo just start dropping meteors on enemies.

I liked 358/2 days for the ds, it had a good sidestory to tell and the playable characters with Multiplayer allowed for fun with friends

I was surprised by how great the story is. It's a little monotonous at times, but overall I'd enjoy playing it again if it ever gets remade.

We really need a propper Remake of this game. Not just a remaster but a real remake with a complete gameplay overhaul and KH3 like graphics. I really wanna play as the Org 13 members again

I agree! Gaming has evolved so much over the past decade and I'd love too see what they could do with these characters today!

For a better demonstration of Limit Breaks, Lexaeus, Marluxia, Goofy, and Mickey all use charged attacks when you hold down the attack button. The less health you have, the more time you have. The Final Limit also charges it a second time.

Funny thing is Mickey can literally fly if you equip the Extreme Ring and time his Limit Break correctly.

For those who might not know, this is not a full showcase of each character's movesets. Much like Roxas, every characters combos will change depending on what gear you have equipped. Some of these are kinda neat, like Goofy basically getting Goofy Tornado when has the Dream Shield equpped.

By far my personal favorite Kingdom Hearts game! I remember buying this on release in early highschool and at that time I was an altar boy serving for my church. Each day I'd go home and play this game to see what happens next or just to grind and read Roxas' diary entries. Little by little I questioned my faith and grew support of other altar boys wearing the same habits we were forced to wear. My friend always wore his signature red habit and after each mass we'd go out and get something to eat. And later ice cream. During the summertime it became dreadful to wear the habits, as there was no air conditioning either. And sometimes the sermons would extend the already 1 hr mass, into 2 hours. That ice cream afterwards never tasted so good! Couldn't help but feel what Roxas felt each day, and the certain similarities that came from it. That rainy day I choose to leave the church and grow out my beard (which was forbidden) was tough also... I have since returned there and look on this game fondly.

Holy absolute shit seeing the new comments here, did the algorithm choose this video? And yeah, for people's references, some of the limits can be charged or have their qualities changed in this video. As I recall, you can hold down the attack button to make Axel and Vexen's limits travel further before blowing up, or charge Mickey and Lexaeus's limits. I'm pretty sure Goofy's can be charged as well.

A old friend and i played it together against each other. Did friendly fire on and fighted. Since then, i wish to have a kingdom hearts fighting game. With all character from sora to xehanort aso. Final fantasy chars as guest character or maybe some heartless or nobodys chars. Same fighting style from kh2/3 or bbs with customized move set. Limit burst would be a nice option for a comeback system. Skins. Special fights against special bosses. Infight useble items like potion or ether. Aso. I think you got the point

still kinda sad only 2 real games had multiplayer. this and bbs. i remember it well playing this with my friend. and that one heartless boss that always 2 shot us :( but it was so fun playing sora and roxas or mickey and riku as combos.

Technically Melody of Memory has multiplayer, but it's a completely different kind of gameplay. I wish they had brought it over from BBS at the very least. Maybe we'll get a true multiplayer mode soon. I know it's unlikely, but a Kingdom Hearts MMORPG honestly sounds fantastic.

the GBA release of CoM also had a versus mode!

As a kid there was some unique tech I discoved with one keyblade. In Twilight Town there's a chest on a building you can't reach as you don't have the movement options for it. So I used Leviathan to mid air combo my way to it. Felt so smart doing it

@@SickNostalgia from my perspective it was my first kh game ever so it was really fun to play. I loved it and the story. Also if you want to see something cool try to clip through the hill in Halloween Town. It's not that to do if you rub up against it lol. Still a damn shame we never got a remake despite how it would be stupid easy to make as they have all the assets to do it in HD thanks to kh2 amoung others.

Back in the day when mods wasn't needed to have a multiple playable characters, you just needed to beat the game and doing some side quests in order to fully acess these characters, i'm feeling old. (Of course i don't being millennar bs, but i they could have done that in kh3 after you beat the story as sora you could choose to play other characters other than sora.)

Wow this is a blast from the past. I remember being so blown away that the game case came with a sleeve jacket. Really wish SE had given the DS handhelds proper remakes.

Zexion, Luxord, Vexen, Donald, and Mickey were my go-to characters in Mission Mode due to my playstyle being magic-focused, Zexion and Luxord in particular.

Really hope more games give us this mode. I have given up on a remake for this game, but they are far to many interesting characters in the series just to have us stuck playing as Sora all the time. Which seems to be the focus going forward, understandably. But still I wanna play as Riku, Terra, Roxas, Axel. Yeh we deserve a mode where we can play as a bunch of different characters

Just so you know, Riku’s weapon doesn’t change unless you use the zero gear and all 3 ability units. This changes his sword into his KH2 KeyBlade: Way to the Dawn. As for the King, only the zero gear changes his weapon. Zero gear with 2> ability units changes his weapon to his BBS KeyBlade: Starseeker. Zero gear with all 3 ability units upgrades his weapon. Oh, and if you play as Roxas in mission mode and you use the zero gear with all 3 ability units, he’ll be in his dual-wield form. Personally I think Sora is the better of the other 2, mainly with the Dream sword. Sora’s ground finisher with the Dream sword is Zanteszuken.

I love MelonDS and definitely prefer it over Desmume. I have noticed it oddly runs better on my M1 Mac than it does a fairly above average PC. I have the video settings set to OpenGL and 12x Native. I also use the widescreen hacks as well. There are various settings to get full screen and switch between screens but that is probably similar to Desmume.

Needs a remake with online play and 4 players co op this was the first one I brought in high school and I liked it I remember me and friends playing it at a friend’s house while my other friend watched Pokémon or TV shows on the TV 😂 I was Roxas and my friend was Axel gliding and my other friend Riku lol

I'd like to see this game remastered. The multiplayer could've used online support, and with the next game clearly hinting at going into the Organization's member's back stories, it'd be the perfect little tie-in by including some single player missions with each member. It's really all the game is missing, imo. The mission structure is a little clunky, but it's perfect for a quick play session.

BBS and Days really are gems!

You know, rather than remake this game, I'd love for them to make a game bridging KH3 to KH4 where we get the opportunity to explore the side characters and how they've changed over the course of the series. Give us a similar roster, but with everyone post KH3. Imagine if they gave the same detail to them like they did the MCs and gave them their own ability systems with varying character builds. A lot to put into a single game, but, its not like they can't just release the game in chunks. Give us bits of story with a smaller roster and add updates to the system if you see abilities are broken or if some characters outperform others.

If they ever did a console remake of Days, it would be sweet if Mission Mode had a constantly updated server full of free downloadable missions.

It's limited to a certain mode, but you can essentially play through the bulk of the game again with those characters. Glad I could bring back a bit of nostalgia!

As sad as I am that this mode hasn't come back, I'm just glad we finally got console multiplayer in Melody of Memory.

Reading these comments made me realize that it seems people only want Days to get a remake PURELY because of the multiplayer and being able to play as all the characters with the console game's more refined graphics and gameplay. Because, let's be real for one moment, if Days did get a full blown faithful remake, a lot of people would complain about how monotonous the story is with it's repetitive Days/Missions structure. I mean, there's kind of a reason why all we got was the remastered cutscenes, because Days is much more appreciated for its story rather than its gameplay.

Remakes can improve those areas, but ofc that's too high of an expectation for Square

This game is good, but KH1 and KH2 are better

How do you do a lot of damage like that? Is it just a tweak for being on PC? I’ve never really been able to get Sora or Mickey because I do Minuscule damage to Giant bosses in Holo Missions and it takes forever and gets repetitive.

I worked a long time to level up, but I ended up downloading a complete file to experience each of these characters. You can find a 100% save file online.

​@@SickNostalgiaFor DS? I got it on DS, I have a save file on proud mode & like 50 hours and level 49 but the damage is still really tiny for Giant Bosses for all the characters

@@TheDerrezalution There is a way to bring over save files I believe but I am not super familiar with it. I have only been able to bring in a perfect save file for PC, but I have not tried bringing it to the DS.

I'm actually playing this on Mac. I personally have noticed it works better on my Mac than my PC, actually!

I actually replayed this game on hard difficulty and when I new what I was doing the game was kinda easy actually But yea some of the missions are just frustrating

The good ol days. Each character was unique in their own ways. I couldn't really get into it the more thinhs were revealed. Particularly people like axl or lea being a keyblade wielder out of nowhere. And xigbar being a character suddenly too central

Don't each character's attack pattern change depending on what weapon type and version you equip them? >.> Wouldn't that change on every character? I mean, the only way Roxas can use dual keyblade Is by equipping a certain weapon, wasn't It (and maybe the ultima weapon???)? [And that's only available In the multiplayer mode. Outside of multiplayer, there Is only one part of the game you can use It, sadly]

I never played this one I remember it came out a long time ago for the ds.I didn’t have enough money to purchase this at GameStop. This needs to be remade,or remastered for the new platforms.
