You are exactly right, and it was during Spring Break in March of 1999...about 3 months before Hurricane Floyd passed by and took out 1/3 of the end of the Daytona Beach pier shown in the video.

I think it's just a fun, upbeat song with a catchy tune and nice harmonies. Brings me back to the late 90s, pre 9/11 and all of the subsequent insanity that followed.

This song is 100% pure pop sensibility. It's downright irresistible.

So Canadian and wholesome. To me this song is like "summer in a bottle"

This songs instantly transports me to the 90s and it wasn’t even a song I really listened to back then.

This song definitely grows on you very fast. I remember being iffy on whether I liked it or not when I first heard it, but the more I heard it, the more I loved it. It's now one of my top three one hit wonders of all time.

I too think they'd love 'Got You Where I Want You'. Some big star should do a cover of it and make it a hit all over again. Great song with a great vibe.

I remember being on vacation in Daytona Beach in '98 or '99 and seeing them film this music video but didn't realize who the band was until I saw the video months later. If the 90s were a song, this would be one of them!!

"I know it's up for me if you steal my sunshine." It always seemed to me like it was about trying to be happy through depression and the crap thrown your way.

I still love this song! Such fun vibes.

The song was played all over MTV TRL when it came out. Memories!!

This song is about being young, summer, and having fun. It also oozes with the beauty of youth. This takes me back a long time, to 18 and chillin with my friends.

Omg! I love this song! One of my all time favorites. I read that the two singers are brother and sister. It's supposed to be about the day after a rave. From what I understand. But 22 years later I still have no clue what it's about or what the lyrics mean. But to me it's just a fun song that I love to put on repeat.

I believe artists nowadays should divulge to the public when they sample/steal music from someone else...it's so easy nowadays via social media to give true/honest credit to the original creator....give them their due....

Loved this song, always listened going to school

This CD was one of the first 2 CDs I ever bought (cassettes before that, of course). It's weird not hearing the whole "To the beat y'all, rock rock" part at the end that leads into the 2nd song. One of the best songs on that album that is worth listening to is Junebug.

Glad someone finally pointed this out. The really interesting thing about Andrea True: she was a porn actress at the time (which was WAY less common or accepted back then). It attached some controversy to the song (which makes it pretty funny that the “wholesome” nature of “Steal My Sunshine” was mentioned 😏).

I have a cd player that was autographed by Lenn In 1996 or so when they played in Clear Lake Mainitboba. My dad bought it for me the year my brother was born from a guy named Uncle Cracker that they knew haha

What they did here is take a 70's pop song called More More More by Andrea True Connection, they took a sample of the middle solo in the song and they turned that sample into the hook.
