When you know its a Remedy game and somewhere there will be an epic battle on a old gods song, and then you arrive at this part of the game, this is peak awesomeness

There is also another musical moment in Alan Wake 1. During final journey to Cauldron Lake to save Alice - you go through old storage hangar and you find a radio to listen - which will lead to a radio host Pat wishing you luck and putting on music which he thinks will help - "WAR" by Poets fo the Fall (aka Old Gods of Asgard in-game) - after which you get attacked by one of the biggest wave of Taken in the game. Heck, that song - "WAR" - even has a music video on "Poets of the Fall" channel which features... Alan Wake searching for Alice and fighting off Taken till its climax where he seemingly ends up running out of bullets and protects Alice till the sunrise comes with the last flare refusing to let her go while surrounded.

“Control” by old gods of Asgard (poets of the fall) from the previous game is the best video game song I’ve ever heard. One of my top 5 favorite songs ever. The ashtray maze was absolute genius I can’t wait to play Alan Wake 2. If you have never played Control I can’t recommend it highly enough. Also Poets of the fall did some amazing music for Max Payne.

@@rohanshah7960 It was in chapter 4, 5 I don't remember, but it was in a radio. If you turn in on then there you go, blasting the Taken when 'War' is playing.

Children of the Elder God has lived rent free in my head for 13 years. I have no doubt Herald of Darkness and Dark Ocean Summoning will do the same.

There's a mission in 'Control' that's part of the DLC. It's not a musical number by Old Gods of Asgard but it's a cool music sequence where you're riding through a tunnel after an object of power while some pretty good retro music is playing in the background.

I loved that mission! Such an unexpected surprise, and it's a side mission so there's a good chance people played the DLC and completely missed it. Was my favorite part honestly.

"Show me the Champion of Light. I'll show you the Herald of Darkness." That line reminds me of the old joke: Steven King's son: "Look, dad! A bug!" Steven King: "Look, son! The devil!"

There's also a barn segment on Alan Wake 1 where ''War'' by Poets of the Fall plays, the announcer even says the vocalist has a ''similar'' voice from The Old Gods. Also in this song's music video, Ilka plays Alan Wake looking for Alice.

Omg my first remedy game was Control and thats the first ive ever heard of Old Gods Of Asgard i didnt know they went back as far as the First Alan Wake this is sick and the band is badass

As much as I loved Herald Of Darkness in AW2, Control's ashtray maze is such a perfect unison of music, gameplay, visuals, and technical wizardry that it remains my favorite Remedy moment.

I played Alan Wake 10 years ago, which I heard Children of the Elder God in the game first time. It was the beginning of me getting into rock music and still listening to Poets of the Fall's music. It's a really good memory of my life.

In my humble opinion, i think Alan Wake 2 does it best, fits the actual narrative

@@PCRevolt I think the Ashtray Maze song in Control qualifies as that too. Every line in the song is about something in the plot of the game, even things that haven't happened yet. It's just called "Take Control" instead of "The Story of the Journey of Jesse Faden - The Musical!".

You are entirety correct. I'm guessing it isn't in this video because Amarican Nightmare didn't get a remaster like the original so the person who made this video hasn't played it.

Yesterday i;ve played trough the musical episode in AW2, till Today i'm blown away. I though that the fight on a big stage in AW1 was Epic but Brothers&Sisters, Old Gods of Asgard did it again. Remedy you have nailed it. This is most epic thing i'have ever seen in video game, and i'm active player since 1990. Can't get it out of my head. Poets of the Fall are unbelievable, they deserve a no1 prize for that. And road for the Best Game Of The Year for AW2 is on !

im playinh it right now, the first i mean and yeah, the waves of enemies are a pain in the ass, but fits the lore i guess

When you know this is a patern in nearly all Remedy games (epic battle vs wave on an epic old gods song....as well as the bizarre tv vignettes lol), and then you play Alan Wake 2, and you know its coming somewhere...and then you get to the scene when the brothers are about to blast their song on the top of the bus...for real, i got goosbumps, shivers down my spine and a insta-crispy heavy metal face...this is pure art, pure feeling.

I love all of these. They keep getting better. It looks like you missed the sequences from Alan Wake's American Nightmare though.

I love how a cool moment in the first Alan Wake game has become a staple of Remedy games since Edit: also, I think you forgot the segment in American Nightmare

I think Ilkka looks frightened and confused in the same facial expression not just because thats how he looks when he isnt expressing emotion but because him in the music video isnt actually him in the game, he has no real consciousness and is just doing things, thats why I think in the sam lake thing with Mr.Door's show it seems like he is out of it until Alan tunes in to the TV and suddenly gives him emotion, and thats why he starts to look normal when Alan tunes in VS just in the tv or in the music video

the Alan Wake 2 one is levels above the others, what an incredible section

Wow very cool, got to say wish they had a rock concert battle in Ash vs evil dead. Cuz seriously could see ash fighting deadites like that.

When people talk about Remedy including themes of polytheism they always talk about Ahti, when these guys are also a pretty good inclusion that fits their lore

i kinda miss comdedy/funny guy like barry in the first alan wake, his appearance and his scene with you killing off the eveil during stage concert was so amazing i forgot the game suppose to be a thriller/horror i wish alan wake 2 have it own character like barry but yeah they seem went full horror this time, so someone like barry probably didnt fit well in it

Each Remedy's game is a piece of art, that's for sure.

I didn’t read anything about Alan Wake two before it came out so when I got to the scene, it was so shocking! One of the best scenes in the game definitely.

You missed the distroted version in the DLC for Alan Wake, I count that one as an Old God of Asgard moment

"letting the song play out fyi" is such a fun way to say you're lost. Weird that you stopped 'letting the song play out" once you figured out what to do there.
