ALL OF US STRANGERS | “Do I Scare You” Clip | Searchlight Pictures

Ойын-сауық

In select theaters December 22.
From director Andrew Haigh. One night in his near-empty tower block in contemporary London, Adam (Andrew Scott) has a chance encounter with a mysterious neighbor Harry (Paul Mescal), which punctures the rhythm of his everyday life. As a relationship develops between them, Adam is preoccupied with memories of the past and finds himself drawn back to the suburban town where he grew up, and the childhood home where his parents (Claire Foy and Jamie Bell), appear to be living, just as they were on the day they died, 30 years before.
Cast: Andrew Scott, Paul Mescal, Jamie Bell, and Claire Foy

The rational part of my brain says if a total stranger showed up at my door flirting and asking to come inside.... it'd be a big NOPE and I'd lock the door immediately. The realistic part of my brain knows if Paul Mescal showed up at my door, I'd probably let him in before he even asked.

@904 It’s a reference to “The Power of Love” by Frankie Goes to Hollywood (an English pop band with a gay singer). One of the lyrics is “I'll protect you from the hooded claw. Keep the vampires from your door”. Andrew was listening to it before Paul showed up, bu I also think Paul is trying to be cute about not wanting to go back to his apartment alone and wants to be with Andrew.

I’m eating humble pie now because I’ve never been so profoundly affected by a film in my entire life, there simply are not enough superlatives to describe the story, the 4 lead actors, and the soul shattering humanity wrapped up in this superlative film.
