For those who have been told by dog trainers, dog behaviourists or the spca that I am abusive to dogs, know that they wanted every dog in this pen and all but 2 of the dogs in the other pen KILLED and they still do.
Too many people are needlessly having their dog euthanized on the advice of dog trainers and the spca who are then told it is better that they kill their dog than allow it to be abused by me. These trainers and their minions see my videos and say my dogs are scared of me and are not happy. What do you see? The truth of the matter is I take the dogs they want to kill, rehabilitate them and find them new homes. I prove them wrong, as I have done in 2 separate court cases in British Columbia. They are wrong in their assessment of aggressive dogs and they would rather you kill your dog than you bring your dog to me for help so you don't find that out. They don't even want you to have phone conversation with me.
My small home has 33 dogs in it as I post this and it is almost always this quiet and peaceful, even when they are running around and playing and at mealtime. These are all Alpha or Beta dominant dogs and except for a few, all were considered dangerous and aggressive, 18 of them were going to be or were recommended to be euthanized. The majority of them are not dangerous or aggressive in the true sense of the meanings of those words. Only 5% of dogs can truly be considered 'aggressive' and they are Alpha dominant dogs who want to come in and take over instead of being more diplomatic. I have worked with and helped the owners and families of almost 2,500 dogs on Vancouver Island over the last 6 years and the majority of them were back to normal within 2 hours.
The owner of a reactive or 'aggressive' dog first needs to understand you have a dominant dog. Submissive dogs never act this way. There are two main camps in the dog training world with 'treat based be your dog's friend' on the far left and the behaviourists who think it is about overpowering a dog into submission with dominance on the far right. They are both wrong. In the middle is the reality of the dog world, a world where the Mother, and the Mother alone, teaches her children how to socialize properly, play properly and to be respectful to others and their space until the puppies are 3 months old, a relationship built entirely on trust and respect through mostly non verbal communication, acceptance and affection.
The Alpha male nor any other member of a pack has anything to do with the raising of puppies until the puppies are around 3 months. This is equivalent to a 3 year old child on a psychological development basis. How different would our children be and how different of a relationship would they have with their Mother if they didn't know their father, or any other human being, existed until they were 3 years old? Your Mother would be your entire world. That is the scientific and psychological basis as to why when you own a dominant dog they need to see you as their Dog Mother and NOT their treat toting friend or aggressively dominant Alpha male. That is why I can have all of these dangerous and aggressive dogs living in relative peace in and around my home. I am their Mother, even though I am a guy.
I have met too many people who told me they killed their dog because a dog trainer or the spca told them to and in many cases without even seeing or working with the dog. I have also had far too many people who have suffered with a reactive or aggressive dog because they were told by a dog trainer or the spca, who couldn't or wouldn't help them, not to contact me because I would abuse their dog. Many of these people, men and women, were literally crying tears of joy when I left their home after only 2 hours because they now saw with their own eyes that their dog is completely normal and is NOT aggressive. This isn't always the case, but is so with approximately 85% of the reactive, aggressive and fearful dogs I work with. The other 15% are highly dominant dogs who need rehabilitation to learn how to socialize properly, play properly and to be respectful as they didn't learn these lessons as a young puppy.
Most haters hate because you prove them wrong and my haters are no exception. Don't let the hate of a self-serving dog trainer or the dog nazis at the spca kill your dog to protect their reputation and NEVER surrender your dog to the animal control or spca. They will lie to you and use threats to force you to sign the surrender form and it is COMPLETELY ILLEGAL for them to do so. If your dog is seized on Vancouver Island please contact me.
Together we can spread the knowledge and understanding of dogs so we drastically reduce the number of 'aggressive dog' incidents in the first place. Together we can force dog trainers and the spca to stop abusing dogs in an attempt to 'prove' the dog is aggressive as was the case with Macey and Bronx.
