Fabulous compilation of a year in galleries. So stimulating with the variation of work that I had to watch it in fragments. Thank you for all your work--I wouldn't get to see most of these artists' works without your generous help.

Beauty is no longer a goal, or even a standard, in painting now. And it shows...with so much meaningless art supported by clueless money. Thanks for this reveal of how pervasive that loss to painting that is.

Thank you…well said. I watched this and cringed. I wonder what Michelangelo or da Vinci would say? Seriously! I remember reading an article in Art News about 40 years ago, and the gallery owners (like Saatchi) said that they didn’t consider showing any artist’s work unless they had shown ability to progress from a traditional education and ability. I’ll never get it 😢. Guess beauty truly is “ in the eye of the holder”!

No. Beauty is a response all humans are capable of. When the majority of humans with a similarity of exposure respond the same way it is likely that it is testimony to something larger than the individual's eye. @@edyerose9969

You don't understand beauty, do you? Removing beauty as a goal is why so much art has become simple-minded trash, losing audiences world-wide.

A smattering of talent here, a tiny dash of skill there, and the odd glimpse of an (as yet unfocussed and poorly-developed) idea, but generally the exhibitions are of meaningless junk. Banal stuff!

2022 was the year of bad art I see..........

What a disappointing start. So many gimmicks, so much nihilist whimsy devoid of intellectual inspiration. What was truly worthwhile was delightful but there was so little of it. And what can I say about work so large that it has to be displayed in an airplane hanger or a pile of 1000 nonsensical elements? That's not art, it's vanity. What purpose does it serve? To be truly meaningful art must coexist with human beings, not populate vacant caverns.

When can we finally see real art again? I am so bored and annoyed by this banal, superficial and decorative art. It's time to show real, interesting art again, where you don't need supervised interpretations to see some nonsense. I would like to see original works by Helnwein, Odd Nerdrum, Anton Hoeger and some contemporary Spanish painters.

These galleries should be full of visitors. The more art the Better. Not only a message of peace UBUt art and culture in any way. A gallery empty It is Always a Little sad and not Fair.
