Y’all wanna hear something real fucked up? My sister has severe stomach issues and can go days to weeks throwing up anything she tries to eat/drink. Recently her doctor prescribed her an anti nausea medication that she needs to not die from dehydration/starvation from vomiting. We were told it would be 30 pills. When we went to cvs to pick it up, we received only 9 pills. When I asked why, the poor ladies behind the counter told me that had to bargain with the damn insurance company to get my sister’s pills to a low enough dose so we could be covered. The kicker? If we were giving the full 30 days supply of ANTI NAUSEA PILLS, we would have to pay out of pocket 43,000 DOLLARS. We’d need to take a second mortgage out just to get meds that prevent my sis from throwing up every time she eats. Fuck America’s health care system.

Without RAMQ (Quebec Health Insurance, it's run by the government), my medication would cost at least 2000 dollars a month. I just wouldn't be able to live alone/be independent without it, and am so glad it's covered. I wouldn't be able to work most jobs without it since, y'know, functioning hands are important, but then by proxy I wouldn't be able to afford the medication because I can't work. Knowing the USA, they'd probably also mark up my medication to be like 10000 per shot.

At least you have a job that allows you to pay for some ridiculously overpriced basic human rights. I can tell you, misophonia and misokinesia (got both of them) are no fun. Waiting for official diagnosis, but until then I'm stuck in this void. Can't get any form of compensation without it for my inability to work full-time (in a place that requires social contact) for more than a few months at most. Insurance isn't even the biggest problem; I'm left with crushing college debt because of having to drop out due to burnouts. In the end, it's for the best as my health comes first but I would accept an "unskilled job" in a heartbeat if that means I can work in peace with enough rest in between workdays (either shorter or 3-4 workdays a week). Just something so I could get the bare minimum, and feel like I have a future.

13:54 man. One fine day in the dead of winter the pipes froze on my water radiator heater. Pipes snapped all throughout town. I had been blocked at grandma's house when the blizzard hit and it took 3 days to get home and see what was broken. The short of it: Lay cardboard on the floor. At least 2 layers but aim for 4 when -10°F (more layers when lower). Put one tent inside of another. Put bathtowels on the roofs of both tents to absorb humidity and reduce heat loss. Hang sheets between the ceiling of the big tent and the roof of the little one to slow air flow. You'll wake up sore and ashamed, but you'll wake up.

In this context someone being shown an ad and then making a purchase because of that ad is a "conversion" Some more clarifications i guess; Antihomless laws that jail them for years are what happens when places have prisoners work for the prison's profit. Prison windows are ass to prevent escape/suicide An ambulance is indeed not just a "taxi to the hospital" but it is waay insanely overpriced in the US. An ambulance gets to legally ignore traffic laws to get you to the hospital as quickly as possible while administering medical attention on the way.

Watching this video after having to console my crying mom because she had to work a 14 hour shift, stopping by to give commentary and some relevant anecdotes to a couple of the posts. First off, the US made microchips being found in captured russian vehicles… it’s pretty moderate compared to where else our MIC has stuck its fingers. We’ve sold aircraft to both Turkey and Greece, who are in constant spats with each other and it’s a regular Thursday for them to shoot down the other one’s fighter jet, and so it’s often you will see American built jets facing off against American built jets between the two sides. Second off, the post about the shift leader having to come into work on his birthday… at least he got pizza. A coworker/friend of mine had to come into work on his birthday and he got nothing special for it, not even a birthday card. I work at an escape room and we do more for customers having a birthday than we did for bro who worked on his birthday, we usually have to make customers cards and everyone on shift has to sign them but I digress. The reason my friend had to go in on his birthday is because nobody could cover his shift. I was the only one available and willing to take the shift byt I wasn’t even allowed to because I would’ve gone into overtime during the shift and they didn’t wanna pay the extra $40, which pissed me off.

So because of these asshats, someone with an actual life threatening emergency could not get an ambulance for almost an hour because the person with a stubbed toe was in the only one in the area.

A lot of single mothers, even on food stamps, can't afford to feed one child in the States. It's even worse if she has chronic health issues, because the ACA didn't give us affordable care. If I am not making a low enough threshold to stay on medicaid my insurance is 700/month, for just me.. and I have to pay 2000 a month for my medication (after the discount) until I meat my 20k deducible. My medications? One that lets me walk and one for diabetes that I developed due to organ damage from anorexia developed during the time I just wasn't eating because my child's life was more important than my own. At the time the average income for women was 27,000 in my state. and the average rent was 20,000 a year before utilities. Yous till have to pay for power, water, sewer, trash removal, your phone, your car.. (because where I lived they WILL NOT hire you without a car.) Car insurance and the "Average work commute" was 36,000 miles a year. (Just over 56,936 km a year.) That was to get from an apartment with "Sort of affordable rent" to a job site and back.. an hour each way, minimum... That doesn't include daycare at 20,000 a year.. Turns out "Daycare assistance" doesn't always exist either... and the daycare they had approved for me had literally lost three toddlers the week before they finally approved it. One of them still hasn't been found 10 years later.

abt the Kia access thing( 5:17 ), it’s to remote start. My kia didn’t even come w a fob, so I have to manually unlock and lock my car at said car every single time. It’s annoying, and I’ve considered paying for the sub so I have the option. It’s stupid. also iirc, you aren’t supposed to get your own fob installed cause I think it can void your warranty, which is even more stupid.
