How Farms Work by Ryan Kuster is a KZread channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin. Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like. These videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us and we look to educate the world on many essential agriculture topics.
How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.

It’s definitely become a tradition of yours to throw smoke with the 4640
Working around the clock is pretty hard, but it's great to hear that you got all of your soybeans in the ground👍 nice video, the Kuster's are hard-working people for sure😁👍
That assisted steering sure makes the rows nice.
Those are some good looking calves! I hope you have a good planting season!
Great stuff Ryan, Travis and Dwight👌👍🙏😎
Hey Ryan congratulations on being done with beans you guys have definitely put in some long hours. One thing is for sure those parts are high.
From one extreme to another. Over 5 inches by me on Monday. I think the drought is over. Stay safe, and God bless.
I've never seen a harrow like that, it does a great job breaking up clods.
Thanks Ryan!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Wishing you and your family the best.
Hard to believe there’s that much dust after all the rain we’ve been getting
Nice. Its always good to see the 46 in action, ive missed her lately

That harrow is my favorite piece of equipment. Simple and I like what it does.
Rocking around the clock . Thanks for rolling that beautiful bean footage👍🏾. I remember whisking the milk replacer a water for the calves.
Great video Ryan
Hey Ryan!! 4 in the morning, you must've got up early to plant, lol. Don't know how you guys pull those all nighters like that.
Ahh, a days work! I only work half days, 12 hours....😂😂😂 Great video, and love seeing the old iron having an easier job, but it did roll some coal! 👍👍
Ryan mate, just breathe. Take that moment to catch your breath and look after yourself.
Should look into a double basket crumbler. Does a really nice job with clods

We’ve been looking into a soil finisher with one!
Hey Ryan I want be trying for the head lock, I have no need for it. I hope who ever wins it can really use it and gets good use out of it. And thank you for the give away.
there's something about the older equipment thats satisfying to see. And was that a Kronk reference?
Crazy year for rain and storms in Wisconsin. Hope it’s not affecting you too adversely.
The 7920 is a beast !

Great video, Drove by farm this weekend on Hwy 61. what a shame to the north of you with all those solar panels. YUCK!!!! I remember riding home from Dubuque to Tomah on Sunday nights and what great sun sets you could see to the west.
would a land roller be better than a harrow?
👍
Sure hope you got a kiss from John Deere because they sure screwed you on the price of that part !
I thought the logic behind more seeds in the lower fertility area was to trap more nitrogen in that area for when you switch back to corn. What do I know though? I'm a city boy and also not a farmer or agronomist.

I think that's only if your planting the nitrogen fixating plant varieties....

@@karlschupp8552 Is there a soy bean out there that doesn't fixate nitrogen?
cheap equipment doing a good job, other farmers do things different.

That pin was insanely overpriced. Call up Deere and give them an ear full.

Hi from oz. Whinging to Deere is like telling the tide to stop. Ive found for those type of things my local engineering shop can make for 60% of what dealer charges but may have to wait few hours to make it. Once needed skids for hay mower. Factory was $100 for mild steel painted. Local shop was bisalloy (better wearing metal its a wearing part) not painted for $120 for 2
