@@fishermansfriend6197 Hello, I currently own and have operated 4 Suzuki 350’s. I also know of 3 other companies in my city that have a dozen Suzuki’s between us all. Every single motor has had catastrophic failure due to the engine itself. We are professionals. We do not do this for pleasure. We run seasonal business and catastrophic failure of our engines means we lose revenue. We are all licensed mariners who want their boats to run top notch. They motors are not top notch. Our mechanic has fought with Suzuki to warranty our motors. This is single worst engine I have ever encountered in my 25+ years of work on boats. I am glad that you have one 175 Suzuki that runs great. 🎉 I hope it continues to run great for you. But I will scream the heavens and anyone else who will listen that this motor is terrible, will take all the fun out of boating and burn all your money up. Those are junk. Stator is very weak. 54A stator on a "Flagship Outboard" is an absolute joke. Their 300HP has the same weak stator. Same charging rate as an inline 4 Mercury and Yamaha. Head gasket issues are a known problem. We got one at work with less than 400 hours and it has severe water contamination in the oil. Lower unit driveshaft seals are poorly designed. It's a rare for one of the lower units to NOT have water intrusion.

While that is true of most outboard engine brands, Honda is the largest engine manufacturer in the world. The boat captain seemed very proud to point out that this is Honda's first V8 production engine ever, so I can only presume that they are the manufacturer of this engine.

I'm probably "in the wrong" just by custom; but a product that creates torque by piston and combustion is an engine; if it's done with wires and magnetic induction, it's a motor. It shouldn't bother me, but it does.

Life jackets aren't a requirement unless you are under age. I'm not sure why I see so many life jacket comments on KZread. But the simple fact is that the vast majority of boaters do not wear life jackets unless they have to enter the water for some reason, including sinking. You are obviously not a boater, so no harm done.

That's quiet? Doesn't sound quiet at speed compared to the new Mercs. But maybe its just your sound pickup.
I have Yamaha's F200 and no issue whatsoever, but i wouldn't mind giving Honda a try. I'm no brand loyalty because what does it do. I just want reliability so I'm not stuck offshore.

speedometer must read slow :)
whats hilarious is why would anyone need or want to limit themselves with an electric outboard when these are so clean, quite and reliable with 5x the range? always cracks me up people thinking heavy batteries will one day surpass gasoline motors on the water !
outboards are like cars and motorcycles.. just way overpriced.. sadly.

@@fishermansfriend6197 Hello !! The 350 in my experience has not been good at all and probably my other fellow guides would agree! . Head and head gasket issues constantly ! 800 hours and they are done ! The lower units have been ok , but not worth the headaches when dealing with the block issues that will come with these engines . I don’t mean to come on here and bash a specific engine or brand , only speaking from my own personal experience.i hope this helps you in making your future decision of powering a boat !!

Stay far far away from Suzuki’s outboards!!!

Drug smugglers are not using Hondas
Another one with a glass cockpit….
the new kid in town is a little late to the party! Risky move with a saturated Market. On the plus side for Honda, you don't really see the Suzuki 350 duoprop gaining very much traction which will help. I don't think Yamaha guys or manufactures are goanna make the switch to Honda Unfortunately. That said, Hope this works out for Honda, they are reliable engines. It's a very Brite white wear your sunglasses of trolling all day
Take care of it, It'll take care of You the hell with Service Center's Center's Everyone's worried about, Don't know why People can't just learn how to maintain 💩 properly for LONG life, You can buy cheaper engine's needing service Center's Constantly or buy a Real Quality engine take care of it properly skip the shops, Just my opinion of course.
