Wow! You did this vid 4 days before the legends passing...I was deeply saddened yesterday when I heard the news. I couldn’t sleep well and I woke up early this morning thinking about EVH. Wasn’t the hugest fan or anything but definitely recognizeD the amazing guitarist and the innovations and influence he brought on into this guitar community and people who just enjoy hearing and all things guitar. I have owned many amps in my day boogies, framus, 5150s etc and man oh man do I wish I still had those 5150s just for memories sake. Rest easy EVH and thanks for everything guitar. Rest in Paradise...1955-2020

This is sweet! I have the LBXII and I love it. I can agree on the aggressive gain taper on the blue channel on the LBXII. That’s why I replaced the 12ax7 preamp tube to a 5751. The gain is usable and not “fizzy”. But I’m glad this new stealth series fixes that issue, and the bias adjustment at the back is handy!

Upon my purchasing of this head today I’ve discovered that it addresses all the beefs I had with the first 2 LBX’s. Fluff mentions the gain taper is better but the VOLUME taper on the red channel is better even more so. You aren’t going deaf at 9 o’clock on the volume knob anymore. Nice work EVH, RIP Eddie....

This is a direct competitor to the PRS MT15. The LEDS and stripes design on this look great, better in person than in this video. The PRS has the advantage of the 6l6 power tubes which means it will probably get louder before losing tone (I don’t know, I don’t go that loud) and has a separate EQ for the clean. I would give the win to the MT15 except that I personally prefer the tone of the EVH over It. That, of course, is my preference and yours may vary but if you try either one of them and don’t like it try the other one because I’m sure somewhere between the two you’ll find what your looking for if you want a high gain amp.

You know what'd be really awesome in lunchbox amps? XLR Line out with no CAB SIM, no frequency compensation. Just an XLR line out, give it to me. With almost 8 billion people on the planet, chances are that one might have neighbors living too close. Living in 2020, chances are that a significant amount of guitar players have already at least one audio interface at home, know what an IR is or even have a collection of favorites. I don't need any clunky internal IR loader via USB, just raises the costs, converts an analogue signal to be digital and analogue again, so that a recording interface can then digitize it again... Put an internal load inside, please, dear Amp Manufacturers, and give us that damn unaltered signal after the power stage, attenuated to be record ready, we know what to do with it.

@@jekspek That would be the pre-amp out, I think he's meaning after the power section to be able to get the power tube distortion out of it. You can get load boxes to do this. Basically he's asking for the amp to have a load box built in with an xlr output so you can just throw cab sims in your DAW I'm guessing instead of using a built in simulation on the xlr out. I believe the Tubemeister 5 (possibly Randall diavlo 5 as well?)had an xlr out after the power tube stage, but it also had redbox simulated on that output.

What I love about Eddie is that he was not privileged. His father washed dishes when he couldn’t find gigs. Eddie got bullied as a child since he didn’t speak the language well at first. His brown sound was born out of his lack of understanding of UK 220v vs US110v but you know the story. I’m buying one of these amps and a 2x12 to sit it on top of. How is the taper on the Master volume of the Red channel? On my LBX2 it sounds super fizzy at low volume, then as soon as it sounds good it's above bedroom levels. LBX1 didn't have that issue.

@@FastRedPonyCar I have the MT15 and I have to say it is ok, but the clean channel is just that. Only clean. Not possible to get any dirt in it with out external pedals. The overdrive is heavy, but also not able to get it on the lighter side of dirty. Either super clean or super dirty. Therefore, in my opinion, it is not a versatile amp like the Mini Mesa (which I also have). I am looking at this EVH or the previous model, LBXIII. Peace, love and rock-n-roll! RIP EVH

I don't think I'll ever get tired of this "Absolutely amazing amps in a small relatively affordable package" trend. Like it's not cheap but the fact a lot of companies whose mainline amps are $1000+ have put out lunchboxes in the more mid-tier price range is really great. Too bad things like the Mini Rectifier and the Fireball 25 aren't in a similar price bracket.
