My sons and I have Been watching you since the beginning. Probably the most informative channel available. Truly appreciated.
The man, the myth, the legend. Definitely one of the trappin veterans on the tube lol. Don't think there hasn't been a time I didn't learn something. 👊💀🍻🇺🇲🍻
Ok I was impressed with your trapping but now I think I’m more impressed with just the time commitment for all those sets at multiple locations - checking them daily -THEN working full time. You’re a hard charger Brother. Thanks for all you do!
Hey man could you possibly show us how you double jaw your 1.5’s and maybe show us how you laminate your k9 traps please?
Great advice for those wanting to start out. No need to jump in long lining with a ton of steel. A mentor would be a great start for one in a local area. Research, the ability to fabricate and finding those deals are a plus. Your channel has a wealth of information and has the ability to help in the fore mentioned areas. Know the feeling on being a bit behind but it all works out in the end.
Let’s see some trap maintenance (post season) and trap adjustments (preseason/new traps). Great video.
My son and I are just getting into trapping you provide excellent content and knowledge. Keep it up
Can't wait to ride along with you again this year. Been watching for a long time now. I'm going to get back after them myself.
Really wish I could have that many sets out. But unfortunately I am stuck using cages so it's hard to pack that many traps with me. Can't wait to see more videos this year. You were the first trapping channel I started watching and have learned a lot from you. Thank you for continuing with the great videos.
Great information as always. Thanks for bringing us along.
Love the content and videos. Yours are my go to for all my fur handling. Thank you so much!
Thanks for posting. I am so intrigued with trapping you have a great personality for these videos.
Thank you! Can't wait to see how you boil your traps and everything else you do to prepare them.
Can't wait for trapping season. Learned a lot from you and appreciate and enjoy your videos!!
Looking good Stu 👍! Can't wait for the start of the season.
can't wait young man
Nice set up.thanks for going through it all and explaining what you use and for what species
Thanks for the walk threw!! Cant wate to see the dye prosses
Awesome job!!! Good luck this season!!!
Really excellent video... Thanks!!!
Great video....wife was listening and asked “do I even want to know how many traps you own”, I told her less than Stu Rofl
Great stuff!
Another good video Stu.👍🏻😎
Thank you keep up the videos
Nice collection.
You are right about the number of traps the beginner needs. The biggest thing for the beginner is learning. Make a lot of your own tools and boards. The classifier is easy steaks no prob. bate is made. A dozen traps to start. I'd get sets of three different types.
Another great video!
I like to keep my eye out at auctions to find my traps. Usually get em for far less than they are new and there’s little competition. Of course they don’t come through often. Great video 👍👍
Can not wait to start seeing your trapping videos 👍🇺🇸
I bought some mb750 for wolf so really reluctant to use them for beaver. I have been lucky enough that pol find out my daughter and i trap together so they have been giving traps to us lately. Hopefully my daughter has another great year!
Can’t wait to see you running your lines
The traps add up fast. I started with 4 #3s and an dz #1s and I've been picking up a few used traps now and then. At the start of this season only 2 years later I've got 107 traps
Really love the trapping videos, keep it up.
Nice this will be my first season I can't wait! Still a bit hot down here in Texas

Nice video man putting in the work well done! Great info
I am starting out this year trapping hard but its been just casual learning for me. Here in Jersey we cant use footholds so we run a ton of snares, dog proofs and live traps. Conibears are mostly specialty trap for us. Love your videos and I use you as a great source of info
bud i really like all ur trapping videos. im live in missouri and i use alot of your tips. im a canine trapper and just getting into cats. so keep posting
Keep up with us with the trapping videos! Look forward to new content.
Well i took 2 things away from this video, I dont have too many traps and I need more traps! Haha great video bud as always.
Pretty sure I could fill your trailer up with my traps but that isn't saying much when your stuck in a cage trapping state like washington. My smallest traps are 6x6x24 colony's, and iv got a pile of those. But when you start stacking up 12x12x36 and 12x18x36 beaver/otter/bobcat cages it becomes very difficult to get any number of traps out even in a full-size long bed pickup. My new trap design will be collapsible that will help immensely, but will still fill up a ten foot trapping boat very quickly!
Hell ya! Just finished waxing everything today with six inches of snow on the ground. Getting ready to slam em on Nov1! Looking forward to your first weeks catch!
Awesome video keep going man
Good luck this year Stu. Season opens Nov 1 in NC. Pelts prices are bad for Eastern but they are as big as German Shepard's around here lol 😂✌️
Good video. Getting ready to get fired up here in Saskatchewan. Going to try foot holds for the first time! Then deploying 50 dozen snares when it gets cold
Good advice for the folks wanting to get into it. Good cross section of traps for different animals and situations. Like most things in life we gradually add to what we need. then like you said we won't need to buy for a long time if at all. traps like firearms last a long time. Maybe need new springs once in a while or some other part is all. Great video, again thanks for taking the time. Al
Can’t wait for the trapping videos
Nice video 👍
Good vid man!
Trapping season for us(Mo) opens November 15th, i am looking forward to your trapping videos.
Man you have a haul lol! Very awesome though 👍🏻👍🏻
Season opener today here in NY putting a few sets out later good luck
You can not never get a enough traps !!! I am the same way with my traps !!!😆
I’ve still got some to dye and wax
awesome collection.. I have about half of that.. still waiting to see a video on your baits or bait making other than fish oil..
I got one word for that. Wow
If you get a chance can we see a video in lure, glands and bait.
Thank you for sharing . I haven't been snaring yet. What are your thoughts on it .
Great vid . 60 to 70 sets is a whole lot of work in a 24 hr check.. Congrats man you earn it..
Damn that's alot of traps
that is a lot of traps ,we built some special ts85's 4 coiled and expand a pans on them . big heavy tank of a beaver and otter trap.
Another good video buddy I’m same as you started out with a couple built up each year I will ask you I have never ran Douglas traps just because I haven’t really needed any more but now that Duke has come out with the dog Louis it’s kind a got my curiosity up about trying some. Keep up the good videos. I watch and give you a thumbs up on everyone.
What size foot hold traps do you prefer for beaver? Thanks for all the really good videos, they really help new guys such as myself.
What’s the biggest trap you use? Mines a #5 for beaver.
When you said you needed to dye your traps it reminded me that I had traps on the grill burner.
Wwwwoooooo! (Lend me some) 👉👈
👍
I just got a deal on a few duke 1 1/2 coil springs and I am interested in your process for doing double jaws yourself. I'm used to the MB traps and these seem a touch flimsy to me but they were easy to get tuned. Do you have any pictures of the modified 1.5?
Can you do a video on lures and scents please..thanks brother
Out of curiosity what's your best year? Meaning how many furs did you put in the shed? Or how many verse were you able to sell in a year? Just curious how much can one man do with a full-time job.
Sir, get a Post Office Box and list it in your information so people can send you things!!!
What do you use for conibear anchors and or stabilizers?
NY trapping season started today
How do you keep on track of where all those traps are after you get a lot of them set?
I have a question, I can't use drowning lines or conibears for beaver how do you anchor a foothold for a giant male beaver?
Do any of the traps require maintenance outside of waxing and dyeing? For example looking for stress fatigue (cracks) or spring replacement? Any traps prone to breakage over others like weak points?
@Backdaft94

All traps require Maint at some point
What is the difference in the trap setup for land trapping vs water trapping?
Can you recommend a good place to purchase traps from?
How do all these kinds of traps work tho?
I always enjoy your videos, no doubt. I know we don't do it for the money but I'm concerned if anyone will buy our fur this season..not to be a downer...very sad...thanks again.
how do I keep fur fresh with out frezing it or drying it.

You spelled addiction wrong 🤣. I'm constantly having guys calling me like hey man I know a guy getting out of trapping and he's selling traps. I'm that guy lmao. I started with duke #2s and eventually gathered enough to sell all those to beginners and buy better sets. Good luck bud!!! Season starts Nov 10 here and I'm definitely itching!!
love all you videos especially the trapping ones I want to trap bad but there's no market for anything but coyotes I can't see killing them for nothing
Looks as though you have enough traps to capture the entire forest?
MB750s? Those are tanks. 👍🏻

Can I catch canines on Bridger 1.5's?
@t.g_buffington

Possible but not likely. I would go with a 1.75 size or bigger. Would give you better chance
So I’ve used a set of 6 mb550 for ab 2 years now and their badly rusted after I have coated them 3 times! Not my own coating stuff like trap dips and dyes what am I doing wrong
@Backdaft94

I notice you didn’t mention waxing...dips and dyes do help protect the traps some, but you also need to wax them especially if you’re using antifreeze like salt in your sets or trapping acid ground

@@Backdaft94 ok I was thinking about full metal jacket after the dye and all I have ever used is fresh dirt that I have dug erlier in the year if it gets too cold or wet 👍🏼
Great video bud! I live north of you just wondered if u ever checked out my video on trap carriers made from bucket handles? They work great hope it helps you!!👍
What do you mean by double jawed I mean they all have two jaws what is it the you do to them
@t.g_buffington
2 жыл бұрын
Look up a double jawed trap. It means they have four jaws. There main jaws and then there are tiny jaws welded on the under side of the trap!
@richardtrowell8812

@@t.g_buffington do you have a higher success rate with the double jaws? What is a good resource for learning about trapping? Just wanting to control critters on a few pieces of property to enhance regular hunting deer, turkey, ducks... etc... mostly raccoons and coyotes. What size traps and how many would you recommend?
Please make a video on the pros and cons of doing the fur handling yourself rather then just sell the pelts green is it worth the extra effort so on and so forth
Dude shit on me,for hoodie that I paid for and don't get 😆
Its not the number of sets that matters. I am not going to just put a bunch of traps out. I do full time trap every day of the season and have every high catch rates. Most guys just throw in a bunch of traps and have a very sad catch rate. If i put out a dozen MB 550's i can almost guarantee a 25% catch rate ,night after night. You must keep moving across the country side. I say 5 days and move on.
Are those your traps? Say it again, please.
