This was great! I love how you choose their names. And I love all of the different face molds that you have. How fun that you only have 5 left to collect - Addy, #4, Kaya, Claudie and Makena. I do plan on renaming Kaya when I get her but not sure what yet. She'll be modern and for my collection goals she can't have a K first name because I have Kit. Although I may break that with Lila. But I'm not sure. For Kaya I definitely want to pay homage to her roots but I'm not sure the name yet

Great job on zoeys freckles ! I love what you shared about why you actually don’t mind her eyes staring down I love arrietty’s shirt so much it’s so cute ! Your collection is so beautiful - and while smaller than some other accounts, you did just start collecting again! I…never stopped, lol. I love that you want one of every face mold. I think that if I ever downsized I would try to aim for that. I’m way too in love with the Josefina mold to limit myself to one, though. 😆 Thanks for sharing your collection! I’ve loved seeing them. I have a Pokémon-obsessed doll, too…Indie would be bff with Ari. I’m still wanting to make some tiny cards for her.

Thank you for saying that :) it means a lot! I'm working towards my goals and I doubt I'll ever have as many dolls as some. I just don't have the money or space. The Josefina mold is my favorite but I don't want to upstage Zoe! I've been working on making little cards for a collection for Ari! I love that your Indie would be bffs with her :) ❤️

Lovely collection! I see a lot of similarities in this collection compared to mine and how you grew it pretty quickly as an adult collector. I have Nanea so I won’t be getting TM #120 but the colored hair looks adorable on your doll!

Thank you! Hmm I guess that's hard to say specifically. I give them little personalities and I like to take a doll sometimes around the house (like if I'm playing a game one will sit by me) Right now most of them are sitting on a chair in the living room so I can see them! I guess also shopping for them helps too haha

I totally thought Carmen Bridget was named after The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants as those are two of the girls’ names in that! Lucky coincidence! It’s not obvious to me that Zoe has the bad eyes in photos. She’s adorable! Rebecca is my mini as well. I had gotten her to be modern, but made the mistake of reading her books. Oops! That’s why I have a couple of Truly Mes and a Lila as mini-mes as well. Samantha held up great in the arms of a 2 year old! I got my Our New Baby at 2. My first two 18” dolls were from 1996/1997, so like your Felicity, they never arrived with face paint! They both have been given slight face ups. How fun that Molly came from the OG store back when it opened! Although I’m sad you never got to play with her much back then, she looks amazing now. My Molly had her hair braided and rebraided, and I slept with her as a kid, so her hair is very loved (I’ve restored it a bit, though). I was so obsessed with Kit when she debuted, too. She’s still my favorite doll. I totally would’ve chosen her as my first doll had she been around in 1996. She was my favorite Christmas present in 2000, when I was 11. Then 11 years later, I got her bff Ruthie for Christmas. Never made that connection until now.

I love how much we have in common with our AG experiences! And I realized after I named Carmen that those were the names in sister of the traveling pants hahaha It's funny, 3 of my friends and I liked to imagine ourselves as sorta similar too. And I was the Carmen of the group. Didn't line up exactly but for whatever reason that was me.

@@Agstar91 I always wanted friends like that. I’m more of a Lena and Tibby mashup, but have things in common with Carmen, too. I can really relate to the Hoffman twins because my friends and I did act out the Spice Girls on the playground in 4th grade. Regrettably I didn’t get to be Baby, but I was Posh! It was short-lived though, as once I got into Britney, I never looked back.

I am new to the ag world and I would love a video for newbies! I have so many things I don’t understand. How many face molds are there? How often do things go in and out of stock? How do you know things will be gone permanently after it sells out? Will historical dolls and outfits be back for the 40th anniversary? If stuff is so expensive secondhand, why wouldn’t Mattel just sell those items for their own profit?

Those are great questions!! Some I have asked myself! I do have a great video about a brief history - 91 facts about American girl! It has a lot of fun facts and is a great intro to the world of AG! It's the type of video I was looking for when I first got back into AG. From my experience, items don't usually return once they're sold out. An item usually says "limited quantities" before they're truly gone. And once in a while it'll come back in stock within a few days. I think probably for them to limit mistakes with selling something they don't actually have in stock. I would LOVE for historical stuff to be back for the 40th! It's highly possible. They seem to show periodically they sometimes cater to adult collectors so it would be great for the collectors and adult fans. As far as secondhand sales, I think it's probably the same with most companies. Secondhand stuff tends to sell for a higher price, but how would that work for the company themselves to do that? The fact that they don't, is a part of what drives up their items pricing in the secondhand market. Disney does this too. I'm sure other companies do it as well. It would be nice if they came out with more collector items/return items. Kinda how Taco Bell does limited release periodically of their nacho fries! Haha Great questions! I plan to do a brief video about the different face molds! Stay tuned! Thanks for your comment
