I absotively LOVE her name 🥰 (we've been blessed 6 times in 18 months by the Cosmic Cat Distribution System when 6 offspring of the neighbor's unspayed outdoor kitty 'adopted' our enclosed garage as their home. All are 'fixed' and we love them dearly ❤️ we have Girlfriend, Blackjack/BatCat, FatHead Fred, Little Darla, Lucky and Dingus 😁)

I feed my 4 cats at 9AM and 9PM only. All are on different foods with some medications mixed in so 2 are put in separate rooms (laundry room and enclosed hallway) and 2 in the same room which I supervise. One eats fast so she's fed last and then still tries to eat another's food so then I put her in a kennel while the rest finish! The whole process takes about 15 minutes but works out great! My vet praises me for how ALL of my cats are at their ideal weights... no free-feeding in my household...!

We also have a little furry food hoover and a grazer which meant we started using the surepet feeders linked to their microchips, we’ve been using them for 7 years. It’s so great, particularly as they have a mixture of wet and dry food. This looks like a whole new level though.

I like Surepet because you do not need anything additional besides their microchip. One of my cats chews anything hanging off of his collar so dangling rfid tag is a no go.

We had the SurePet feeders and they worked great for years. But recently our gorger cat figured out how to shove herself in beside our grazer while he was eating, At that point he would walk away and the door stayed open while she polished off the entire meal. So we got a MiBowl feeder. It’s narrower, and so far Gorger hasn’t figured out how to steal from it.

Both the SurePet and the Mibowl feeders have microchip readers. Unfortunately our cat’s microchip has migrated out of range (down his shoulder/arm I assume) so he still has the wear a collar with the rfid tag.

I actually have something very similar for my cat. We're a single-cat household, but I also have a dog and she always finds ways to get to the food that's reserved for the cat (it's honestly ridiculous, she even managed to steal it from a bowl on the windowsill). So I got this automatic feeder that recognizes my cat's microchip. Problem is that my dog figured out that she can still eat if she's fast enough. In the end, the pet feeder still has its place on my kitchen island. :D

It's great that the food trays are fairly shallow. I retired my auto feeders because the dishes were too deep. My panther was having fur chafed from his chin from pushing his face dow to eat kibble. I switched to shallow dishes and am weaning them off kibble also.

I had a timed feeder for my piggy kitty, she eats more than she's supposed to, so I set it up to give a little food at certain times of day. However, that made it harder for my grazer kitty to get to the food. So I got a microchip feeder. But my piggy kitty found out that the microchip feeder doesn't close right away, and won't close on a cat's face. So she was sneaking in after my grazer kitty to finish off her bowl.

We adopted two kittens in Sept of 2022. They were a bit malnourished, especially the runt of litter who was a full half pound smaller than her sister, who was also skinny. The bigger one would shove the runt away from her dish and gobble up her food. It took a lot of guarding the runt's food, bur eventually that behavior and both kittens felt more secure when they realized that bigger siblings weren't going to take their food (they came from a litter of 7). We have recently gone there small meals a day of wet food and they are doing great.

Thankfully both of my senior girls just eat the same basic senior cat wet food with a bowl of dry and a bowl of water that they can access whenever since with the dry food they will only eat when they’re hungry. The only issue we had was the cats eating the puppy food . Luckily our little Shih zsu pup is crate trained so he just has his food in there. Recently we started giving them all a salmon oil supplement just to try and prevent any problems that might come as they get older.

I have 2 cats, the older one have bulimia and anxiety, so he eats his emotions to the point where he'll just throw up what he just ate. Plus he's on a diet, he's a rescue and is overweight. So he has 15 gr of food, 4 times a day (so every 6 hours) in a slow feeder. And the younger one tends to eat all his food at once, so he has the same schedule, with smaller portions, in his own slow feeder. And as the big boy doesn't go up on kitchen counters as he can't jump that high yet, I have his plate on the ground while the other one is on a counter, where the young one can jump. It was quite a few tries before I found an arrangement that works for now, and big boy even went from 8,4kg (18,5lbs) to 7,1kg (15,6lbs) in a little over a year! Seeing him able to run and play was worth the tries and efforts!

Small and Medium get immune boost mixed in with their morning and evening wetfood, Medium also gets an additional pill mixed in for her nerve trouble. Large gets a powder that helps with his stomach. Large and Medium have a dry food bowl on an end table and they can graze, Small never jumps up there, but she can't graze because she got very round lol. She gets fed a little bit of dry food at a time at certain hours

I currently have two cats, Wicket (2f) and Puck (1m), who eat the same diet. We actually use a hybrid method to feed them. There is one bowl of dry kibble freely available in the kitchen for them to snack on, and at meal times we give them a half can of wet food each, in two separate bowls that we place in different spots in the kitchen. The tricky part is we have to put Puck's bowl down first or he will go for Wicket's. Since they eat the same food, we aren't too fussed about them eating from each others bowls that much, but we do monitor Puck as he is a voracious eater with anything that isn't their usual kibble. We also give them Greenies periodically throughout the day to help fight tartar build up.

I've got two cats. One 13yo tux lady, Henny, that I've slimmed down from chonky 7.5kg to now healthy 5.3kg. Our other cat, Coffi, is 5yo and last year, the vet discovered that she has kidney issues (like Fergusson), so she eats Hills Kindey kibble. Coffi is VERY picky and only eats her own kibble - nothing else. Our senior cat Henny eats everything she can get hold of, meat, fish, cheese, tofu, chick peas, and all sort of cat food. To keep her away from the young cat's food, we serve Coffis food on top of a 120cm cabinet - too high for the senior lady to jump up on. We have a feeding tablet for our senior cat, 50g Hills Meabolic kibble total spread out 5 tines a day. We have to mark on the tablet when she's gotten food since she nags with staring into your soul on the next person entering the kitchen like she haven't eaten in days just 5min after eating. She normally uses 10sek to eat 10g of kibble. I found out that if I soaked the kibble in water for a few minutes, she would use 4-5min to eat the sane amount and seems more satisfied afterward.

Our 2 cats have access to adult cat wet food all day long - we fill the bowl once we got up and ready (always differs a bit, so they do not learn that there is a specific time when we serve food) and keep filling it over the course of the day once empty. We make sure there is enough food in the bowl before we go to bed because they both like to eat before joining us in bed some time. I feel very lucky that this works so well - both cats are not overweight, not gaining weight and also not waking us at specific times or so to get their meal. The only thing we give in limited amount is dry food. When we first got our cats as little kittens one of them would constantly empty the dry food bowl and gained a lot of weight in a very short time, so we could not do that classical "dry food bowl thats always out"-thing. Instead we are giving dry food at 7pm every day in a very small amount (around 15g) and this is in case the only time they come to us and "remind" us that it is time

I have 3 cats. 2 are brothers and eat the same (special) food - dry food that I leave out, and one shared can of wet food at night. My girl can only eat wet food due to issues she’s had in the past, so basically I feed her whenever she asks. Which she has now finagled into us feeding her 5+ meals a day. She’ll also send it back if it’s not warm enough, so if it’s not a fresh can, we boil water to heat it up. I’ve caught her eating the boys’ dry food a few times, but she doesn’t really do that anymore so I don’t have to worry about that. The boys love her food, however, so I feed her many meals in a separate room from them. Also, most of the time I have to sprinkle freeze-dried chicken on her food to entice her to eat. I’ve trained her to push a button to let me know when she’d like more. She refuses to eat unsupervised, so I spend more of my day than I’d like feeding her. At the same time, it’s a nice bonding experience. Aren’t you all glad you’re not my pet sitter?

Each of my cats has a shelf on a bookshelf where they eat. They can each get onto their shelf no problem, but once a cat is on a shelf there's not enough room for the other one to get on to steal tidbits. Fortunately neither of them understand the concept of leftovers even remotely, so we don't have to worry about that. This technique also helps make sure the dog, who is allergic to everything, can't get to their plates at all ever.

I’ve always used the first strategy you talked about - set meal times, watch them both closely, and put away the leftover food when they are done. Though I once had one cat who was extra greedy paired with a cat who was extra generous with food, so I would feed the greedy cat in the bathroom with the door closed, and only released her when her brother was done eating 😂

The vet was finally able to get us a diagnosis of a very nasty intestinal infection. After meds cleared it up, his system is very sensitive. We put him on a sensitive stomach diet and he has just grown by leaps and bounds! He went from a little 5 pound kitty (and he's a large kitty), to a big beast! For a few years I had to feed three cats, each on a different diet. My sisters two, one was on a diet food and other was on a diet that was better for her allergies (they were really bad). Mine just ate standard adult food, though she was an still is quite skinny to the point that I always leave food out for her so she has the chance to eat if she wants. Naturally, mealtime was an effort. Ezzi, the allergic one, would eat her food so fast that she'd throw up and then she'd bully one of the other two away from their bowl if you let her. My Dange would eat a few bites and leave a mostly-full bowl for the other two to scrounge from. Charlott, bless her, would eat just her own food and leave (but, she'd sneak into my room where Dange's back-up food was and steal it from there!) I love my sister's cats to pieces, but I'm glad to just be feeding the one now.

@@tie42 I’m a sucker for animals!! I also have an inside feral cat…lol! Good luck with your newborn! I’ve seen my fair share of kittens! I have one more outside kitty to get fixed. So, do you have scratched up furniture? If not, how do you keep them from ruining the furniture? I have a kitty scratcher, but they still like using my furniture and the door frames! 😣

I have two cats, one has a regular diet and the other has a sensitive gut diet and they’ve always been lil gremlins about each others food so they both have the SureCare microchip feeder. It’s great and they don’t need to wear collars for it to work (my Peggy can’t wear collars). We even got a kibble slow feeder insert for Jerry’s because he’d eat his kibble so fast he’d throw up. Now we’ve got a balanced tummy household!

I have 5 cats with different diets. The oldest is chronically underweight and the doctors can't figure out why. Must be a metabolic disorder. In any case, he needs high-calorie food. Merle is a rescue cat with gastrointestinal problems and gets diarrhea from many things. Teeny is a thief and accordingly overweight. Jonas had bladder stones and needs special medical food and Bolle is still growing and can eat as much as he wants. We use the Shurfeed feeders. Works wonderfully and looks super cute when everyone sits in a row while feeding the predators.

Could you do a video on grooming a senior cat at home or care tips for a senior cat? My cat is 16 and hes a medium hair tabby. The last year he’s not grooming himself as much and it’s been hard to get him to stay still to brush him, especially if he steps in his own poop and needs to be cleaned lol. I use severeal types of brushes and a hairless shampoo and pet wipes. He also gets a treat after anytime he lets me clean him.

My two boys Tamaki and Binx eat different diets. Binx is a young adult and Tamaki is a senior. I feed Tamaki in the kitchen and put Binx in the bathroom because, Tamaki doesn't eat all his food in one sitting so, I'll have to pick up his dish before Binx has the chance because, he'll eat Tamaki's leftovers if I don't.

I have two cats now but back in 2013 I had three cats. Two of them were grazers and the third wasn’t. After trying many things I came across the SurePet rfid feeders and it was a god send. 11 years later I am still using them and the two I have now I have the same situation. One is a grazer and the other isn’t. The beauty of these feeders is that not only am I freed up once putting down their food, but I haven’t ever had any problems with the feeders.

I feed one in the kitchen and lock the other in the bathroom with his food, which he inhales in about 90 seconds (he will get his brother's food, my food, and your food if left to his own devices). Then he has to sit in the bathroom for the 20 minutes the kitchen kitty with 11 teeth takes to eat his food.

I actually just started using an auto feeder for my cat whose prescription diet has made him get too chonky. I have to feed him smaller portions more often, so I needed an auto feeder to take the guesswork out of it. But of course if I’m not home at the feeding times, I have no way of knowing for sure that his brother didn’t get there first. I’m still on the fence about using an auto-feeder for my other 2 cats, only because I feed them freeze-dried raw meat that’s just barely not kibble-sized and is a lot crumblier, so I’m not sure it wouldn’t just clog the feeder.

Even when my cats ate the same food, it was nice to have an RFID feeder so I knew who was eating what. If one of the cats suddenly stopped eating, it was not a mystery to figure out who it was. And when one of them needed a special diet, it was no changes to their normal routine. Love this as a tool!

We have 4 cats and tried many foods. All of our cats have FeLV and one has FIV. All of our babies like the canned meat with gravy. We did try different kinds but they didn’t like a lot of foods. They especially do not like pate at all. Our vet never said they needed a specific diet. The one thing I requested of my husband, who does the feedings, was the lay off giving treats. Our one cat went from 12 lbs to 16 lbs very quickly. He’s lost a little weight because I had a talk with my husband. So I agree that you need to be aware of what they like, especially with health problems!!! I love to hear people talk about food plans ♥️ Your fur babies are precious! Love listening to advice and I appreciate you. ♥️🐈t🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛🐾🥰

One of my cats, Pepe is on a prescription diet for a urinary problem. He thinks of himself as the cleanup eater. Eating the old lady Camilla’s food. I put Pepe in my bedroom to eat, but he quickly learned how to open the door. I have purchased many gadgets to try keep him in. When he does get out, he shoots out my room like a rocket and looks for Camilla’s bowls. I think I’ll give one of those feeders a try.

One of my cats is older and has kidney issues so he gets renal food, the other cat is younger and healthy, so she gets normal adult food. Now the younger cat doesn't really like the renal food and the older cat can't jump very high, whereas the younger one loves to jump on shelves etc, so I feed her on a shelf and the older one on the floor and that works very well for us right now.

The only thing we know for sure is pate is out, and so is anything that comes from the sea. It's a work in progress.

My cats get exclusively wet food, unless I'm going to be away for a couple of days (we get a petsitter, but I still feel better using an automatic feeder). I've got a senior cat and one who's about 5, but the younger boy throws up if he hasn't been fed within a handful of hours (like he'll scarf the food and then puke it back up). I'd LOVE to get one of these, so I can keep my senior away from the food the other guy needs to keep his tummy settled, but between the price and then the dry thing... >

I’ve had 5 cats with different diets and I swear by the SureFeed microchip feeders. You don’t need collars - they work off the microchip each of our cats have. I bought mine when they first came out, so they are separate units, and they have to be each taught separately and the options are set on each on (time to leave bowl open, anti-bully, sensitivity, etc) They have a newer system with a hub and then each feeder, so you can program them all from the hub and also do things like track amount of food eaten, etc. And since the chip is already in each cat, you don’t have to worry about a cat going hungry if it takes its collar off!

Hey, so in Japan, there is a vaccine for kidney disease for cats in clinical trials right now estimated to be released by 2025 and boost the average life span to 30 years old! It also apparently treats cats already suffering with kidney disease. I just hope this is accurate. It would be such a great opportunity for Fergie if he is able to get it upon release or during the trials. I really hope you can read this so the news gets out and you can give Fergie the treatment he needs. Hopefully you could do some research on this and make a video on it? I love you and what you do. Much love, Jamie. ❤

That automatic feeding looks like a great thing to have for the cats! Especially since the feeder only works for the cat that has the collar. That connects with it. That’s handy and cool! Even choosing the time to feed them, keep the food fresh and keeping track of your cat(s) eating. Sorry Haroun! No more leftovers for you 😆 Haroun: How will I live now!? 😱

So much for the cats!! Well, I had two stray cats that I had rescued, they loved fish chicken eggs, cucumbers, and some other veggies. Never had any kind of feeder. Occasionally used to take them to the vet. They both lived a good life for almost around 15 years. Never had any special diet, never had any ailment. Frankly, all this seems a bit too much.

@jjbee11 isn't a big sample size or not that is very, very subjective. For some people, having 1 pet is also handful. Hence, that sentence itself is ridiculous. Besides, I totally understand many cats/ dogs have certain special needs, they may need special diet. No judgment on that. My pov was it's sometimes exhausting for most common people to do everything by the book. That's it. No judgment.

Wow Hannah you make it sound so easy. That pill video, never worked for me. my cat would not accept a pill. also my cat had a UTI with crystals and refused to eat any type of urinary kibble, treats, or can food. he was so hungry he ate the other cat's food. anyway, because of this, he recently passed away which is the hardest thing for me to accept. did i do something wrong. i spend 13 trips to vet er and thousands of dollars on him. i only had him for 2 yrs. the dr said, yes some cats are subborn and will NOT eat, basically starve to death. i knew he was dying when he was motionless on the bed, just his eye looking at me. Thank you Hannah for these important videos but i guess some cats are hard to handle. Wish i had you here. You are great
