A couple quick things: If a lot more of the video sounds like its similar to Dummy!, its because it does! Spamton and Dummy share the same soundfont at a lot of points during the song. Second, I've heard that there was core in the background of one part but haven't been able to pick up on it myself.

Aside from the screams (which appear at parts in the song like 0:33), there’s also the bomb detonation sound effect (1:18) and *I THINK* there’s Jevil’s laugh as well (1:21)?

So far, this boss has the most leitmotifs out of all bosses. And it takes from both deltarune and undertale

The song BIG SHOT being four songs put together is ironic in a way as Spamton wanted to be free and his own individual yet his theme isn’t very original. And also the fact that mettaton Neo had the highest attack and Spamton Neo has the highest defence.

It's because he has his motif, the body and basement is representative of mettatons broken hopes and dreams (thus Neo motif and Dummy!! motif) and then finally the Nightmare Knight motif (the one used in The World Revolving) because of the Nightmare Knight motif is referencing whatever contact Jevil and Spamton share (the motif also is used in The Chase and Closet which i thought was interesting)

I know monsters had the ability to absorb souls and that’s the whole reason the war happened in undertale but it’s kinda weird spamton wanted a human soul so bad if it wouldn’t even work so maybe darkners can absorb souls? Who knows maybe we’ll see. The sad thing is though even with kris’s soul he STILL wouldn’t have been free because it contains/contaminated by the player so we’d just take over spamton.

I like to imagine that this is also because of the part at 0:41 to 0:48 where we have this long phrase that ends in a short phrase that repeats into itself 3 times before looping back into the long phrase, since that is the gimmick the mad dummy theme reiterates over and over through basically the whole song.

Okay, here's a small prediction: I believe that the "World Revolving" leitmotif won't be just a nod to Jevil. I think it will be the little tune that will play in every single hidden boss. I mean, Jevil and Spamton both talk about freedom, and so they both get the leitmotif. Maybe in a few chapters it'll just be the "Freedom" leitmotif. If this was already explained at some point, then I'm sorry, I didn't know.

the fun thing is, the song just plays 4 notes at diffrent pitches as background, so it's stuck in your head, and megalovania does the same thing by putting those beggining 4 notes as the background!

I actually wonder how it would even work narrativewise. The theoretical hook for spamton is that the same freedom jevil has is what he wants but can't get(With the Neo-leitmotif playing at the same time being the same thing with a return to fame)...or in the case of Side B, he got what he wanted by force, but he wants to stop the player from ripping it away from him again. I feel as if such a logical connection to jevil will be harder and harder to establish. However, we might just get a chain instead where the next secret boss instead takes aspects from Spamton and the next one after that takes from that person, etc.

Worth mentioning NEO and Dummy are near-constant presences in the theme

here's some speculation about why that might be the case: - spamton was made as he was by listening to the "garbage noise" on his phone - if we call on our phone in chapter 2's dark world (not sure about chapter 1) we hear the same garbage noise - the sound effect used is, i believe, the same as the one associated with W.D. Gaster - according to those FUN-value-related people who spawn in the core zone in undertale, gaster fell into the core when all his fucked up shit started happening in other words, spamton ==> garbage noise ==> gaster ==> the core from undertale, hence the leitmotif

@@Alpacnologia @Alpacnologia Well, I personally don't think it would be bad writing, but I'll explain a little bit more why I don't think his "creation" is necessarily the Core: The follower that talks about it first says that Gaster was a genius and that "they say he created the Core", they aren't sure of that info, and they give it to you just as a curious fact, with the purpose of explaining why he was considered a genius. Then he explains how he fell into his own creation, and does so with complete certainty, it would be weird if they knew that much about Gaster's accident, something probably a very few know, but wasn't certain if the Core was actually his creation or not (I mean, he probably knows what that creation is, if he weren't sure that creation was Gaster's, then he probably wouldn't call it "his creation"). In any case, the dialogue is divided in two parts: part 1, who was Gaster and why he was considered a genius, this is the part when they casually mention Gaster probably created the Core, just to give you an idea of how capable he was, part 2: what happened to him, not necessarily related to part 1 which is more of an introduction to the topic, and therefore why it would make sense for "his creation" to not be the Core (I'm not strictly saying it isn't, just that it would also make sense if it weren't).

Spamton kinda is the MTT of this world, huh. Also you forgot to mention the “WOW!!” sample from earthbound, important detail

What's insane about this is that every lemotiff connects to Spamton's character in some way. 1) Mettaton NEO and Spamton NEO both have similar designs and the Mettaton game mechanic is present. 2) Jevil and Spamton are both secret bosses who presumably went mad after gaining awareness of the game world they're in. 3) Same as Mettaton (hapstablook) and the dummy, Spamton possessed an inanimate object to gain more power. Toby, you mad genuis.

There's also the fact that, much like Napstablook and Mettaton are cousins, Mad Dummy is implied to be a cousin of Napstablook, so one can assume Mettaton and Mad Dummy are cousins as well. Thus, Spamton borrows not just from Mettaton NEO's theme, but also Dummy.

I feel the world revolving is gonna be a theme used in every hidden boss fight It makes sense in a way

*THANK. YOU.* As someone who's special interest is music with leitmotifs being a massive part of that, I can't tell you how many times someone hearing that motif and going "oH iT's jEviL's tHeMe" without actually analysing the two individuals and considering the thematics of the game. People hear a melody in someone's theme and assume it solely belongs to them, and any other theme produced using that motif must represent them and them alone. Dispite the characters/situations not showing any major evidence of a solid connection between the two! You're like one of a few people i've seen who have solidly been like "oh! It probably represents freedom rather than just Jevil." You are amazing! The rest of this is just stream of thought so feel free to ignore this- The NEO leitmotif seems to represent a massive power boost, as you hear it in this theme, power of NEO and Battle Against a True Hero. All situations involve a massive boost to one's power, spesifically their attack stat (albeit Spamton's only lasts until he goes deeper into the NEO body during the Snowgrave route). I would say the Dummy leitmotif could also have a deeper meaning (either anxiety/worry/urgency as all situations that contain that melody seem to have that general feel, or traditional fears like spiders or ghosts) but there isn't enough information or story that I know of to make a connection between *all* the places that contain this melody. A good frame of reference for finding a characters spesific leitmotif is through their encounter music (usually the first time). That is the only motif that is always consistent with that character, and usually doesn't contain any additional motifs beyond that. I want to spesify that by encounter I mean when they actually make their character known, like after Undyne reveals her face for example. This is pretty consistent with all the character's we've seen so far so if you ever get stuck with a character's leitmotif, this is a good way to check!

Well, the song Dialtone is also completely compromised of another part of Jevil's theme, and given all the implications that Jevil has been to the Cyber World (or is at least somehow known there) I don't think a connection between Spamton and Jevil is to far fetched

0:58 is my favorite part of the song

The funniest part is that the filename of BIG SHOT has "wip" in it. So there is the high chance that something about this entire thing is actually unfinished. It really doesn't seem like it at all.

This may sound like a bit of a stretch, but when The World Revolving plays it sounds like it’s also a leitmotif of a certain part in A Field of Hopes and Dreams, or it is at least using similar instruments.

The dummy soundfont breakdown around 1:30 while not directly a leitmotif is a cool musical allusion to the intro of Dummy!

The way Toby has been using leitmotifs in his Undertale and deltarune music for a while has never been disappointing

I've always thought the part with the Dummy! leitmotifs were actually a Napstablook reference. Well I guess both share the same soundfonts.

This song feels like Toby was messing with his music and created this. And I love it.

The dummy leitmof hits so hard

Spamton is a scammer It makes sense that his theme is just parts of other songs

It would make sense he has Dummy's theme because he is a *Ventriloquist's Dummy*

The only difference I can hear is it has one extra higher note on the end but the first three sound very similar to me

at the timestamp 1:40 you can hear dummy.

Is that it or is it the "ghost" sounding instrument used in the lead melody for dummy and ghost fight? Cuz he does use part of the soundfont for this song. I think that's part of it. OR am I noticing the wrong thing? XD

Its a perfect use of leitmotifs as well because they convey all aspects of his design, the Mettaton Neo body, the Jevil-ish difficulty and the Dummy!-like marionette aspect.

The sound effects that begin at 0:20 really sound like the noises that ROB makes from Mario Kart DS

okay, but, the fact that it starts with the spamton base, goes to neo and freedom, then ends on dummy… that’s really sad :( guy wanted to be free and surpass the things that kept him bound, but in the end, he was just a dummy

Also at some point there should be a part of a battle against a true hero Oh and the "wow!" is the sound effect that can be heard after you name your party in Earthbound/Mother that can be heard frequently in the song

When you put it all together, it kinda makes Spamton NEO's character A killing machine that uses it power for popularity (Mettaton/Spamton ) That bot (Spamton) wanting freedom from the player Kris (Jevil) With the power of his body being possessed by the disc of Spamton (Mad Dummy)

I’m starting to think the the freedom motif is more than a jevil motif and more of its own thing I recon the next secret boss will also have it and probably talk about freedom too maybe it will be something to do with being trapped inside a tv and being “forced” to do the same show over and over again but who knows?

I guess that "jevil leitmotif" isnt from jevil, its the leitmotif that all the secret bosses have, the next ones will probably also have it.

Thats a good point! I noticed that all the leitmotifs in ‘BIG SHOT’ are there for a reason, ‘nows your chance to be a’ for obvious reasons is Spamton’s. ‘The power of NEO’ because he’s using the body of Neo. And I believe ‘dummy’ because Spamton is a puppet and with the strings attached to him it only became more apparent. Finally ‘the world revolving’ or least the ‘Freedom’ leitmotif of a character that only occurs when they are reached by Gaster.

It's actually the "WOW" sound effect from Earthbound

I love how the end part (or the power of neo part) is kind of like the beginning motif, but in the style of Power Of Neo. Also that part is definitely my favourite part of the song.

Like its a part of the songs that tells us that SPAMPTON is a Dummy thats inside a robot with a broken soul

Just got through this fight. Grueling as hell, and between all the mess of the fight and the different leitmotifs, it messed with my head a lot

Means Mr Fox did a perfect job! After all, Spamton in general is a corrupted character, pretty much to the point of insanity. Also congrats on defeating them! They are pretty tough.

I knew The world revolving and one of Mettaton's themes would have had to be in Big Shot, Jevil and Mettaton are literally the only two characters ever made who are relatively similar to Spamton. (Maybe dummy as well?)

When the Power of Neo section starts you can faintly hear the background of the first half of BaaTH with headphones in. Those sort of bassy bumps, I don't know what to call them

i love calling it the freedom leitmotif

i feel like the inclusion of Dummy! is really important. its a battle theme from undertale, which canonically isnt the exact same universe from deltarune, yet when its first heard in Big Shot, all other music cuts off, with only that small leitmotif of Dummy playing. i dont know why but all this just makes the dummy leitmotif feel really important

at about 1:25 theres this little solo section and he uses a lot of the same licks he did for mad dummys theme. namely the eighth note part at 1:30, which can be heard in the first 10 seconds of the mad dummy theme. i know theres already a connection to him with the little piano melody but i think its cool that he added a little more.

I think some of the parts from the world revolving will end up being something of the main theme of deltarune as a whole, but that’s just my theory

MY GAME THEORY

Something tells me all secret bosses are going to have that same tune from the world revolving. Maybe it all leads up to a secret final boss? Would be cool

It makes sense it uses all those leitmotifs considering we're fighting a puppet with the power of NEO who's also the special secret boss of the chapter. An excellent callback by Toby himself.

In spamton's portion of the song, I swear I can make out the noise when photoshop flowey takes damage, anyone else?

To me it feels like Spamton kind of violently shifts between three 'personalities'. One is a [[BIG SHOT]] celebrity One has random violent outbursts One is meek and frightened How strange. _Spooky,_ some might say...

Honestly I’m extremely sad I never went back to check out the junkzone again. I missed this fight on my playthrough and found out about it later online but can’t go back without doing another playthrough. I already loved spamton but if I had gone into this fight blind? It would have been amazing
