I like these videos that go into detail about technology from the alien universe. It's gives it an almost relealistic view like you know it is science fiction but there are elements in the universe that make it seem like it can exist in real life. I don't know if it is the nerd in me talking or something else but these detail videos are really good keep up the good work.

Heres a theory: The Jockeys tech look a lot like Xenomorph bodies. Perhaps they based their technology on things they learned from studying Xenomorphs? If that is the case it's not hard to guess why they are not around anymore.

But that "Theory" has no base in reality. The "Space Jockey" was a giant fossilized creature. This new "Engineer" idea is silly and is just Scott's wanting to grab cash after they have ruined his property by adding Predator . It's a terrible idea . You can't just change a 20 foot alien creature to a 7 foot tall humanoid and think that audiences are so hungry that they will just overlook it. It's the same with things like the Alien Queen. That was the idea of Jim Cameron and Giger was not involved.

As far as I know the predators actually enslave other species such as The Amengi as far as I know their highly underdeveloped even primitive culture exclusively thrives from the Among technology and labor even their ships are produced by them according to some sources and the Yautja society so obsessed and fixated on their solely tribalistic endoveurs that their species never seem to develop more remember their tech remains stagnant between colonial marines and 2005 series

In the movies, we never saw the Engineers use weapons of any kind. They used an automatic door to sever their colleague's head. The one they woke up threw people around and bludgeoned Weyland to death. When he was attempting to take off for Earth he neither attempted to destroy or evade the collision with Prometheus. Hard to believe that his ship didn't warn him of an imminent collision. My theory is that until at least 2000 years ago they didn't need weapons because they were the First Ones. When they encountered the Predators unarmed it may have led to the end of their reign, done in by one of their own creations. The Predator Civil War, as seen in "Predators", led to their extinction when the losing side unleashed a doomsday weapon upon the "winner". This explains why, even 300 years later, we haven't made First Contact yet.

I really like the idea with the flute but I somehow can't discard the thought that controlling technology by sound is a very odd choice especially for a more advanced civilization. There is this not so improbable situation where your spacecraft has it's hull breached by whatever and the interior evacuated. Now try to play the flute to activate and run the safety measures.

Idk much lore, but... I just finished the game "Scorn" (anyone?) and couldn't help but think of the Engineer's technology... The game had me in a world where a hellish creation took over and the scenic visuals brought me straight to that of the Engineer/ Xenomorph world of technology. What might occur in an Engineer/ Gardener type world where creation took over? I imagine it being very similar to that of the hellscape where sentient A.I. robots take over! (terminator stuff) Haha anyways.. I just thought to myself, "How freaky would it be if the bio technology, that the Engineers created, went rogue and took over?!?" Thoughts? :)

I have a theory abiut the cavepaintings. In many civiluzations the people may have drawn this painting to celebrate their creators, byt the wallpainting in Scotland i think it was the engineer itself that draw it. This is why. In the beginning of Prometheus we see the seedship land in a terrain reminding of the same terrain as Isle of sky. We see the sacrifiscial enginner walk towards the waterfall and sacrifice himself. The painting itself was jyst showing engineer pointing towards the starsystem, with no humans present in the painting. I think it was the same engineer that draw the painting to show the humanity later on where the starsystem was located. The cavepainting of them all, before humans was on this earth. The same cave that Shaw later found?

because biology always wins, adn always plays the last hand. (I have a degree in biology, and have worked in the field for 28 years.) It always wins. Constrain it, it goes around. Stop it, it comes up later. Poison it, it adapts. You cannot stop biology. Physics, maybe. Chemistry...harder to do. But biology owns you, from PRIOR TO the moment of conception.

The main point of having music is for the sake of entertainment and not getting bored as ALL animals can go insane from boredom. They had medolu just to pass the time and that’s it. That’s like saying you can’t play or have music in your car or else you can’t drive where you need to go because instead of having a music player you didn’t have a button installed that you just press that zaps you where you need to go. The engineers ARE too bright, your just not for thinking what you were saying through and think you can accomplish everything by just pressing one button and that’s it.

Engineer tech would be the equivalent of needing to play the flute in order to start your car. That pal.... is stupid. Do you have a button phobia or something lol? Buttons make sense in applications that require a quick response. Turn on your voice command and do not use your keyboard if you don't believe buttons are simply a smarter way of doing things.

@@williamp3591 whose getting their “panties in a bunch” over fiction? Because it’s certainly not me. I’m not the one whining about this. this is clearly an ancient alien species that operates differently. And it’s fiction so if the writer wants the alien race to use music for activation then so be it. That’s the whole point of fiction. To be able to do things that you can’t do in real life. Engineer tech can be whatever the hell the writer wants it to be and we don’t know all the aspects of there culture for the engineers. Music can be massively important to them for the sake of using it as everyday tech or the engineer’s ship can be using music as code for the sake of start-up. It’s not “stupid” at all. That’s just the way how they function as we don’t know how important music is to them but seeing they use it as code it must be.
