Info about counteroffensive on South a little bit old. As i know my brigade pushed russian East from Davidiv Brid. So i can not say that our forces stuck on that direction. Slow but surely we pushed them to the river.

AFU lost many troops around Kharkiv as well - some reports have AFR planning the withdrawl weeks before the offensive - AFU charging headlong after them without developed support led them into heavy artillery barrages - not as smart as being claimed

The Russian fantasy of being able to deal punitive damage with their backs toward the enemy and Ukraine somehow suffering losses but advancing at breakneck speed is just the usual copium dished out to the goobers willing to believe them. The fact of the matter is that the pictures are online. The Russians fled and abandoned equipment, they surrendered en masse and there's very graphic pictures showing what happened to those who decided to fight. It was a turkey shoot. Shooting fish in a barrel. Stealing candy from a baby. An army being routed is precisely when the advancing army produces the more lopsided casualty ratios. In fact, if we use the visually confirmed vehicle losses, the Ukrainians enjoyed a 33:1 kill ratio. That's on vehicles. I'd imagine the kill ratio was higher against people. Also, Russia was planning to withdrawal from the important Kupiansk rail? Now Severodonetsk will fall. Russia ground itself down against Ukrainian defenses for months and now they risk losing it in a matter of days or weeks as the Russian forces there will be strained for supplies. It was Russia's plan to waste all their suffering and hard work?

While that's moving very fast, it also leaves a lot of units exposed.

@@ChucksSEADnDEAD - actually the AFU charge proved to be the fish in a barrel - the allies only had a couple thousand troops in the entire area and had already started pulling them out before the offensive launched - it's now been acknowledged by many western military experts that it was an orderly retreat - of course some will not make it as for AFU, their recruits were so thrilled at uploading copious cell-phone movies of their exploits (many of the same pieces of equipment over and over again), those signals were easy to trace and made them easy targets for AFR artillery, smart bombs and missiles pre-positioned beyond the battlefield but well within range - this is why AFR won't allow their forces carry cell phone into combat zones - young soldiers everywhere are just so full of themselves, they've mostly lost the sense with which they were born - the same can be said for their fans - pop culture makes people stupid

Thanks for a detailed, factual and barebone briefing in a way I only remember from my days serving in the army.

Interesting presentation, but the quality is spotty. 1) Comparison with Operation Cobra is apt, in particular, how Operation Cobra became possible after the fighting around Caen had pulled too many German forces into that area. 2) Operation Bagration was a highly successful Soviet campaign during WW2. Except for the fact that the Soviets suffered hideous casualties. But is this the right time to mention it? 3) There is no possible comparison with the events leading up to the October Revolution. The situation has nothing in common with what is happening in Ukraine right now. Well, those are my criticisms, but the presentation overall is very useful.
