Great interview again. Smart guy. But JC is also right - all crypto is intrinsically worthless hence crypto platforms are at best pyramid schemes at worst scams.

the irony is that he was just about to explain the panacea to "GPT is getting used for misinformation" psyop. websites are cryptographically signed (SSL), blogs (on crypto platforms) also have a form of versioning. it's pretty trivial to register an ENS domain and automatically start publishing any content one feels like without the ambiguity of AI somehow being involved.

Brian's point around cheap and fast L2's is actually solved by an L1, Solana. Also, the practical point by Chamath at 18:30 is also who their CEO Toly is. Super practical, trying to get this to 1B people.

agree, solana has the best tech right now. tokenomics are not great, and sol token price took an absolute beating after FTX, but the tech is the best.

Brian missed one of the main use cases of Crypto which is tokenising real world assets - Larry Fink has spoken a lot about this. Blockchains such as Algorand, Hedera HBAR and NEAR protocol are all doing this; allowing users to purchase tokenised real world assets such as properties, gold, silver; even plane tickets.

These guys really skimmed the surface here! I’d Love to see your team have Charles Hoskinson on. Long form.

financial ROI is based on speculative confidence, not the efficient consumption of joules. we'll get there, but you have to disintermediate the MEV-before-public culture.

And what is the revenue engine of gaming? Jpegs: skins, pretty pixels. We are about to see a Cambrian explosion of UGC. How do we provide a creator economy based on digital assets and experiences? Hmmm. How does one ensure true ownership, provenance and enable scarcity of a digital item? Hmmmmm Why Bitcoin is capped at 21 million. With blockchain a creator could offer a 1/1 Or design a “sand painting” digital experience that disappears after the user leaves the experience.

It’s ok to not have an open and expansive mind. Soon people like you will be replaced by autonomous agents. At least they can be prompted into creative thought. You want a use case? Wait till you see what happens when we get to WaifuGPT meta. With the amount of obsession and value we will see when people can design their “companion” agent’s embodied AR/VR avatar and tune their own agent you will see how much the market cares about true ownership of a digital assets. You will begin to see marriages ruined and people demanding to marry their WaifuGPTs….and then understand (like gamers) that people don’t want to be account bound. The horror of not being able to log on and “see” their WaifuGPT will be so strong they will demand the true ownership of digital assets that blockchain provides.

Some parts of the interview are annoying. They ask questions and don't wait for an answer. Wish they would be a bit more professional.

@Jason, "You never learn anything while talking!". Let Brian speak and don't interrupt pushing your narratives. It was important that he describes the use cases of crypto and future narratives i.e. and also many other things. Super bad interview from Jason side, much to improve there.

Jason’s attitude towards Brian was so much more combative than any other guest. The other three did well.

Crypto still has the trust less backbone that makes it what it is. Brian will try and change this for less friction but then where is the line between crypto or normal traceable currency. There is a reason the founder for bitcoin is unknown m
