Amazing presentation. It's not just a big problem in the US although Washington seems to be particularly 'good' at it. So well explained in 24 minutes.

While one always knew such things happen, this podcast has brought out so meticulously, the private hand in most large financial dealings of the State!! And, perhaps, world over too!! Thank you Bill!!!

What a great speech and good breakdown of regulatory capture

Bill Gurley should show this speech to all the women who tell him he was lucky to be played by Kyle Chandler. In fact, Kyle Chandler was lucky to play Bill Gurley, but this speech is better than anything in the movie.

I was a founding member of a San Francisco-based CLEC built on the Telecommunications Act of 1996, of which Benchmark was an investor. I can truly say that Bill Gurley has nailed EXACTLY what killed not only my company, but the whole competitive telecom industry, and named the bad guys. Well done Bill. We need more frank presentations like this!

When we were running our start-up, getting to sit down in a meeting with Bill Gurley was a treat, something I remember 20 years later.
