All Gun Laws Are Dumb!

Gun control laws are so stupid and arbitrary. A perfect example of the arbitrary nature of gun laws is the restriction on barrel length. A firearm has to have a minimum 16" barrel to be considered a rifle. You can pin and weld the muzzle device on a 13.9" or 14.5" barrel to make it 16". If the barrel is shorter than that, it might be considered a pistol, if it only has a brace and an angled foregrip. If you put a stock or vertical grip on it, it becomes an illegal "short-barreled rifle", unless you pay $200 for a tax stamp, then it magically becomes safe and legal again. These laws have absolutely NOTHING to do with safety. We need to do everything in our power to make sure nothing else like this gets passed in the future and we need the NFA to be abolished! Trump lost my support when he said "take the firearms first, then go to court" effectively eliminating Due Process. His video earlier this year visiting PSA felt more like pandering than actually being pro-2A. I wish we actually had a true 2A candidate for Presidency.

So you’d rather have the gun grabbing Biden who tasked the ATF with taking our rights away? Cmon, Trump may not be perfect, but he’s better than any true liberal democrat!

I agree with you on that and literally said in this video that he hasn't had a good record on the Second Amendment, but compared to Biden and his ATF constantly making rule changes to outlaw everything, I do think he's the better choice.

@@sawtoothtactical404 Absolutely! My hands may tremble when marking his name on the ballot, but a "no vote" is a vote for Biden. Exactly like in 2020 when people hated Biden but still voted for him just because he's not orange bad man.

First major change to the NFA came in 1936, when firearm manufacturers had already sold a lot of .22 caliber hunting rifles, and the NFA of 1934 would greatly affect their business. Congress exempted .22 caliber rifles from the NEA of 1934. Second major change to the NFA came in 1968, when the minimum legal barrel length for rifles was dropped from 18 inches to 16 inches. Why? Because the government had already sold a quarter million M1 Carbines - with illegal short barrels - to private citizens (TO PROMOTE MARKSMANSHIP), thus rendering them all felons. Instead of trying to enforce a clearly irrational law, Congress reduced the barrel length stipulation.

I really wish the NfA wasn’t law. Unfortunately I don’t see the political will existing to end it. As a law abiding citizen, I pay the $200 tax and wait the five months or so for my items. It’s stupid. But I can’t change it. I can lobby for change and I DO, but unless tens of millions of voting Americans lobby their representatives it won’t ever change.

It is. When I rewatched the video, I think that sentence came out wrong. What I meant was that the current injunction against the "engaged in the business" rule is limited, similar to how the first injunctions against the pistol brace rule were. Eventually, we got a nationwide injunction against the pistol brace rule. I did a video about that way back when it happened.

So it’s all right for the government to break the law, but a regular civilian can’t buy the 16 inch barrel. It’s legal now because we said we can do it. where are the government? We can change the rules, anytime we want.

I agree 100%. We all still have to live by archaic laws while the lawless kill with impunity daily inside the big cities. I’ve always said, if a pinned and welded barrel extension would save just one of the 40-50 killed in Chicago this weekend, I’d say sign me up. But, we know that’s fantasy. We live in complete fear and make sure our guns all comply; but the dude in Chicago carrying a Glock with a switch knows that no one is coming for him. As my dad says, it’s “bassackwards.” It’s easy for a person to conclude that the laws target the law abiding and not the criminals.
