The horror genre has been the most consistent with numbers in recent years with action, superhero, and animated films either performing really well or straight up bombing. Horror on the other hand has just been getting better with movies like Barbian, X, and Pearl, the recent Halloween films, the entire conjuring and scream franchises. Both terrifier movies. If you're complaining about the constant use of jumpscares, then why are you watching fnaf VHS tapes? The fnaf franchise is literally built off of jumpscares and analogue horror content recent has been using jumpscares through void memes and unsettling pictures as a major part of their stories

When talking about cheap jumpscares im talking about that fucking moment every movie has now that when introducing a character it all goes silent and the starring blonde goes like "joe? Joe where are you this isnt a joke!" And joe is with a knife behind her and boom. Loud noise, "joe mama!" Says the guy and there goes 5 completely unnecessary minutes. That is just one example of how horror in movies and shows is shit now

@@lordferbus2970 this video you have not seen is full of suspense and unnerving moments. Yes there are jumpscares but they are well made, with all the suspense leading to the moment. Although its not my favourite part of these videos. Its when its all silence, reading the pieces of story that are showing on the screen and suddenly it all goes silent, the comforting static of the tape has stopped (wich by the way is somewhat unreal, wich adds to the fact that this is manipulated and you have no idea what will show up) and a face appears. It stares at you, unnervingly, with terrifying soulless eyes. Thats how you create fear without a jumpscare

Very nostalgic. While these videos are outclassed in pretty much every way by more modern videos, these were undoubtedly pioneers in the fnaf vhs genre.

Not what was implied at all, William took the kids while Foxy and the others were performing. It's based off of the mini game in fnaf 2, where foxy runs to surprise the kids but the last time we see William at the curtains, and then find the kids dead.

Though normally I'd call it cheesy and overdone, I honestly have to agree. It really does feel tragic, especially with the music. Personally, it hits me a bit harder since I've known the song itself for a few years now. I first learned of it while I was going through some anxiety issues in highschool. It's called "The Moldau," and is meant to paint a scene of drifting down a river, passing various places like gentle scenery and a wedding celebration at one point. The song can be relaxing and serene, but it can also feel rather sad. In the end, all you're able to do is drift down the river and watch things go by that you wish you could be a part of, not even being able to stop to look longer. The river is what carries you, and only it can decide where you will go. Imagine being these kids, drifting slowly through the days with no end in sight, and no control over what happens to them in the end or whether they ever get out. Occasionally they see new faces, but it never lasts long since nobody wants to stay there. Their reality is just constant sorrowful drifting. And while it makes sense that most of them would feel fear or sadness in such a reality, it's no surprise that Michael's brother, the child who's death started everything, would feel what you'd expect somebody who was killed by their brother to feel. Rage. Anger. Pure hopelessness. And it's all portrayed perfectly in these 10 seconds of the tape. Anyways, I wasn't expecting to write an essay tonight. Don't feel obligated to read all this. I'm going to bed now lmao

The remakes did an absolutely amazing job on these videos. Though, I do prefer the closer-to-the-game designs of the animatronics here to the vintage models Battington uses.

"We'll go to heaven, because we're supposed to" That absolutely beautiful line absolutely broke me. It's what I hate about the FNaF movie. They've watered it down and targeted this incredibly dark story towards younger audiences. It could've been a masterpiece.. like this whole video. I wish the movie was more like this. I wish it was good. This line is just beautiful and heartbreaking. It uncovers the true horror of FNaF. The fact that the spirites of murdered children are stuck on earth.. in the suits their corpses were hidden. It's horrifying.

What a beautiful and peaceful ending was at last. Rest in peace Micheal🕊️😇😌
