The National Basketball Association (NBA) is a men's professional basketball league in North America; composed of 30 teams (29 in the United States and 1 in Canada). It is widely considered to be the premier men's professional basketball league in the world. The NBA is an active member of USA Basketball (USAB),[2] which is recognized by FIBA (also known as the International Basketball Federation) as the national governing body for basketball in the United States. The NBA is one of the four major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada. NBA players are the world's best paid athletes by average annual salary per player.[3][4]
The league was founded in New York City on June 6, 1946, as the Basketball Association of America (BAA).[1][5] The league adopted the name National Basketball Association on August 3, 1949, after merging with the competing National Basketball League (NBL). The league's several international as well as individual team offices are directed out of its head offices located in the Olympic Tower at 645 Fifth Avenue in New York, NY. NBA Entertainment and NBA TV studios are directed out of offices located in Secaucus, New Jersey.

    Chris Mullin saying "Heyyyy! I'm white-walkin' here!" Is a reference to the dream team being the equivalent to the White Walkers in Game of Thrones and him being from Brooklyn, New York a stereotypical phrase said by New Yorkers, "Heyyyyy I'm WOLKIN' HAAAAYRE!"

Toni suited up for Croatia in 1992 earning a well deserved Silver medal. That Croatian team not only had the young Kukoc, but the (in Reggie Miller's voice) Late Great Drazen Petrovic and solid big man Dino Radja.

  • @MrBasketville
    @MrBasketville4 жыл бұрын

    I do not know if someone else already pointed this out, but other than the mediadel being burned, I think the fact nobody knows about the match is an easy reference to the legendary scrimmage between team Jordan and team Magic within the Dream Team at the Barcelona Olympics (similarly, the fact even watching this video you haven't really seen the match). Also, @10:50 circa, Hinkie's "any cynic can tear things down and call himself a genius" is a super-direct jab to Kyrie who did exactly the same in the previous episode. Finally, I dare say that Kyrie convincing his team on the monetary element could be a jab to the tendency of players nowadays to playing only for the money (applicable to different degrees to different players, but I would assume demanding a max contract or demanding a move may justify the reference). Also, the full Golden State team jumping at the case "LeBron got lucky" is for the 3-1 lead :P

    Kyrie coming in and saying "what does GOAT even mean, anyway?" is a reference to the report that when he was on the Celtics, he came into a practice session early and asked Brad Stevens "so what do you think government means?" Apparently Kyrie went on a typical rant about how gov't means control, yada yada yada. I guess someone was reported to have said that Kyrie made the argument an emo high school kid would make.

    You got one reference wrong, they are harvesting basketballs for the 3 point contest, this is seen in the money balls, and the new 3 point balls.

    Lebron telling Jordan "This is your LAST last dance" can also be reference to Jordan's trend of retiring and unretiring to play the NBA again. Just like he did in GoZ with the soul box

    Noticed how Paul stands up to place the book on the shelve. In previous episodes he was always in a wheelchair. I wonder if there is a reference there.

    It’s a reference to Pierce faking an injury and being put in a wheelchair. In real life, he admitted he just had to go to the bathroom.

    2:17 Definitely Dame with the sword but is that DREXLER with the AXE and GLOWING EYES just after? Was that meant to be Drexler? EPIC!

    I also think tha farmer scene alludes to tha infamous time Jordan played LeBron. Like right before Bron entered tha league. And as Jordan was retiring like during tha summer some kind of nba training camp scrimmage. But there’s no footage no media of it and this was like 2002 so before social media and shit was heavy. I could be wrong but I think that’s also an Easter egg for that scene

    I know it was a mistake and you definitely knew it was there, but you forgot about the part where lebron says it’s about his teammates and they cut to the former lakers traded for AD

    When Jalen Rose said Lebron might've gotten lucky, and it showed the Warriors, I think that might've been a reference to the 3-1 lead.
