@@patrick4662 Yes you are correct. It is the delivery from the actor. In watching the show I have heard other actors say the word but all of them don't deliver it the same! Here the scene was set up nicely to make the audience feel it and understand her pain! Awesome performance!

I really like how they made Rhaenyra’s accent so much more pronounced. That’s how it should be…with time so much was lost from the old Valyrian ways - not just the language’s proper pronunciation but also Daenerys had no idea that dragons were ridden with saddles, no one in GOT knew that Aegon’s map table had the capacity to be lit up from below and most importantly that Aegon’s dagger hid a crucial prophecy about the future of mankind! (In GOT it ends up in Littlfinger’s grubby hands and he passes it off to a lowlife assassin - the catspaw ) truth is that we’re supposed to be seeing how things changed over almost 180 years so it makes sense that Daenerys’ pronunciation is diluted when you compare it to Raenyra’s

​@@user-kc1ye5pj5q it wouldn't make sense, all she had to train was her brother, meanwhile the previous Targs had multiple family members and relatives to practice their Valyrian with, not to mention that Dany probably had to hide that side of her in a few instances due to being found out as a Targ and getting chased by Robert's men. Meanwhile Targs from previous eras got to speak it whenever they pleased, since they could do it with the pride of being from Old Valyria. Dany grew ip as a fugitive and a beggar, it doesn't make sense for her to have the best Valyrian accent. No one was there to correct her lmao

Rheanyra was the 6 great grandmother of Daenerys which is why Rhea’s accent is more pronounced because over time the speakers of the language changed! Dani’s pronunciation is more modern interpretation whereas her grandmother’s was more authentic! Both women played their roles beautifully especially since they were acting next to a green screen! I mean it’s not like the directors could bring in real dragons😏

I love how rheanyra says it and how her dragon responds by moving closer to the target as you really see the bond with dragon and dragon rider. I love how layrena says it’s as well as it shows the bond well. And the execution scenes with daeny simple superb

I’m gonna say what everyone thinks when they see an adult Laena, her final Dracarys is the most impactful, just above when young Rhaenyra says it. Both come from emotional strength, even when it’s tragedy.

Yeah that's something interesting I've noticed and seen mentioned, at least about the show (haven't read the book yet). You can also see how Caraxes cries in pain when Daemon is hit with an arrow in the Stepstones. It does seem like bonding between a rider and their dragon is more than just "we besties now" and there's a deep, almost telepathic connection involved.

I was wondering if the dragons could tell if they are in pain or sad like with rhaenyra and another thing about the dragons I was told is that rhaenyras dragon was basically a mom to her son Luke's dragon it came from her eggs so when rhaenyra found Luke and remains of his dragon her dragon was grieving the loss of her child too in a way

@@aliciasimmons8473 something that I've seen mentioned before and also noticed when I was rewatching season 1 is, when Daemon was fighting in the Stepstones, I think in episode 2 or 3, he took an arrow to his shoulder. In the same moment, Caraxes cries out in pain as if he himself was struck.

Deamon has the most strongest bond with his dragon. Even he doesnt need to say any word like dracarys for attack. He and his dragon just feel each other and fight together. I didnt read book but see it in the show like that. Yet my favourite Targaryen is Rhaenys queen who never was. She was perfect with her dragon she just said “Angos Meleys”calmyl which means attack not tell her to dracarys even while she was sacrificing herself Rip beautiful soul 😢

I remember watching a bts of GOT with the people who came up with the languages for the show. They said Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm) was the best at speaking Valyrian - his accent was based off the languages that inspired it.

Forgot Laena's death scene where she asks Vhagar to burn her. That's my favorite even with season 2 airing right now

Rhaenyra for sure. A little 14 year old girl at her own mother’s (and brother’s) funeral is able to gather enough strength to give the command to set the funeral pyre aflame. That takes some serious internal bravery. And she did it when her father couldn’t and her uncle couldn’t. I think Rhaenyra takes the win here.

The annoying thing is that Dany specifically said in Season 3 (aka GRRM’s writing) that High Valyrian is her native language and she pronounced “Dracarys” with a Valyrian accent when she order Drogon to set the slave master on fire in Astapor. For whatever reason, D&D completely removed the accent in the later seasons.

One was an execution, one was a funeral rite, and one was just a flex.

Personally my favourites are Daenerys' earlier ones. Her pronunciation slipped a little in the later seasons. Most notably, you can hear she doesn't roll the Rs anymore, but she did back in the first couple of seasons
