Don't worry, you didn't die in the Evil ending. Why? Because in the end, it says above the return to lobby button "YOU SURVIVED", not "YOU WIN?" to imply that the ending is not perfect, "YOU SURVIVED". It's basically just telling us that we just faked our death and we win. And I honestly hope that's the case because I don't wanna have my whole plan ruined by a darn dog that I saved.
