I know we had 7 seasons of Jim Parsons narrating the show as Sheldon, but seeing Mayim Bialik reprise her role as Amy along with the dynamic the two have as parents, just makes this series finale all the more heartfelt.

I think ultimately Sheldon has changed for the better in little ways. Its no longer a WW2 battle to get him to do something he doesn't want to do. But also at the same time Amy has understood that most of the time you can’t win Sheldon over with an emotional argument you got to get him with the logic and good logic to or else he’ll find a way to get out of it

I was confused about that. Did he and Amy eventually buy it? Because Mary lives in a different house in Big Bang Theory.

The way Sheldon is talking in the present means his mom is gone now. I’m so happy that his final scene with Missy shows them on good terms, ready for the parent series. I can’t help, but imagine that in the present Missy has gotten with Raj and Sheldon has welcomed him into his family with open arms.

@@lieutinantwhoareyou8839 I think Penny persuaded Sheldon, over time, to eventually turn that relationship with Amy into a marriage. I remember with fondness the time Penny took Sheldon to the fortune teller, who told Sheldon that Amy was the keystone for everything else in his life to fall into place. I included Leonard because Leonard’s meeting Penny in the first episode is the keystone for the rest of the show; Howard/Bernie, Raj opening up to women, all of it. All of their lives were made better because of Penny.

@@christophergolas9930I think their point is that the initial introduction happened bc Howard and Raj matched him online. No one is discounting the role of others including his mother in their relationship, but Howard and Raj deserve props for setting him up.

I admit I always imagined Sheldon and Amy would move from apartament 4B when Young Sheldon revealed they had children. I often imagined how it would be being in apartament 4B with them and I came to the conclusion it would be difficult. If I lived in apartment 4B I would have to enter Sheldon and Amy's bedroom if I needed to go to the bathroom at night and Sheldon and/or Amy would have to wait for me to wake up to make themselves breakfast if I'm still sleeping by the time Sheldon and/or Amy wake up

'Young Sheldon' missed two extremely important lines that would have improved the show. i) They never portrayed Sheldon's first awareness of coitus and his first use of the word. ii) Since the show is set in the same time as when other shows like 'Roseanne' and 'Blossom' were on, they should have shown clips of family members (like Missy, Mary, or Georgie) watching those scenes from those shows with TBBT actors on them (Laurie Metcalfe, Johnny Galecki, Mayim Bialik, etc.).

They did portray Sheldon's first use of the word coitus, in the episode when Missy asked pastor Rob questions.

Of course they ruin the emotional moment with a joke at the end...

It wasn't ruining an emotional moment, the episode prior practically tore them apart so as there was only one episode left, it was nice to have Missy and Sheldon have one last nice interaction. it was perfectly in character and was a great send off.
