All about Tigers - Interesting Facts and Educational Animal Information for Schools

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Tigers - the largest of the big cats, fierce predators that are known for their power, hunting skills, natural strengths and, interestingly enough, love towards water. We have put together an educational video about these animals that will be a perfect fit for school use.
In this short video presentation we managed to tell about the distinctive patterns of these predatory animals, the tigers’ top running speed, the biggest and smallest species, the tiger roars and ways they are used in communication, the color variations that happen in tigers, and finally their population and endangered status.

The tiger might be the biggest cat species (assuming that the biggest captive tiger weighed 1025 pounds, and that the biggest lion(s) weighed 1000 pounds), but even then, when a male lion and tigress come together, then you can get a cat that's even bigger than both lions and tigers, that is the liger.

The reason for the Liger being larger than the Tigon is due to the female Lion carrying the growth restrictive gene, whereas the male Tiger carries the growth restrictive gene. Sadly Ligers wouldn't be capable of living wild, as though they share a lot of the Tiger's best qualities, their bones and muscles aren't as strong as the Tiger's- losing a quarter to a third of the Tigers limb mass. Most Ligers, when fully grown, have a lot of arthritic problems.

Very informative. However, due to factors such as habitat loss and decrease in food sources, Siberian Tigers are unfortunately decreasing in size. Males are larger than females and weigh 160-190 kilograms, while females only weigh 110-130 kilograms. This information was received on the article Amur Tiger Ecology. Also, while tigers do occasionally hunt bears, it’s possible that they try to go for the smaller and weaker individuals, rather than the healthy adults.

Nah, he doesn't- he simply says "Could"- that doesn't pass as evidence. He also says that if life WAS seeded on earth, the people who seeded it would have had to have gone through an evolution themselves. A lot of selective cutting in that interview- I've seen the full version. The main proponent of intelligent design stated that if you were to find a watch, you'd have to come to the conclusion that it was made by an intelligent designer- he equated this with the human eye, not knowing in the days of his "Theory" that the human eye is far far poorer than many animals- some shrimps have superior eyesight to humans- as do goldfish. The human eye can't zoom like birds of prey as we can't change the shape of our eyes like birds of prey and very poor night vision. For humans to be the height of "Intelligent Design", then why are we so inferior to most animals except our brains? Very susceptive to cancers- something sharks don't suffer from- and many other diseases, fairly weak immune systems and a very small gene pool due to the bottleneck created when the human race very nearly died out. To say; "Well there could be" means nothing whatsoever. Like Dawkins has said before; "There could also be a flying spaghetti monster..."

I bet you agree, that the king of the jungle must have this quality, Strength to defend the kingdom which a Tiger by far outweighs any other cats no offense to Lion fans lol 😆. However, the Tigers lack Leadership Qualities which is seen in the life of a Lion 🦁, Lions are awesome creatures, they are social animals(lives in pride, both parent raise the cub In the pride, far more caring to injured 🤕 lions 🦁 The lions go as far as feeding cubs that ain't hers just to make sure the cub survives, yet again showing that motherly qualities. Male lions on the other hand are lazy, well some will say lol 😆, however, they spend 16-20hrs sleeping so they can be active at night 😁 Male lions are bigger taller than females, They can be easily distinguished from the females due to the thick majestic mane in addition to this the color of the lion 🦁 mane is determined by their age the darker the mane the older the lion 🦁 Male lions are protectors of the pride(they go about patrolling their boundary to keep it safe from intruders ) Their work is to breed, raise and defend, and to be honest childhood from 2yrs ain't that smooth, at 2yrs they reached the sexual majority are thrown out of the pride to go fend for themselves and seek to takeover order pride, at that age confused with no guide hmmm, I can compare it to the angst of a Man lol true. Let's not forget the roar of a lion 🦁, ah mean the roar can be heard 6-8miles plus the density of their bone makes them tougher for their opponents to defeat e.g Tiger The mane protects the neck of the lion, in addition, the male lion is a symbol of courage and good reasons( never backs down from a fright, fights to the death irrespective of the size of its opponent, A trait that rears in the Tigers 🐅. Lions are dominant cats, majestic in nature, character, and leadership skills.

It is such a sad story, that these majestic apex predators are all but extinct, they are truly magnificent animals, and it's all because of greedy humans, it's ironic that we puny, week humans can't even think to compete with them, so we eliminate anything that is in our way , like wolves and bison , when settling the west, we would shoot millions, billions of animals we seem a threat or in our way. If you look back in our history it's embarrassing to see how pathetic we treat other animals. I'm glad I won't be around when tigers are completely gone, it's a shame, I know we had to kill many animals around us to be safe, but we kill them even when their not a threat, we travel thousands of miles to shoot an animal, just to boast you shot an animal. Wow, face a tiger with just a knife, then if you kill it I'll be impressed .

THIS HOME MADE VIDEO IS FULL OF OVERRATED TIGER INFORMATION. A 12 years old impartial scientific study that you can still see in the Russian wildlife society site and a similar conclusion was published in an Indian study in 1981. I posted here the results of the study a year ago. In the wild Siberian and Bangle males are similar in sized. The average weight of male tigers is 419 lb. Notice African male lions have similar average weight too. In the wild most big cats do not reach 500 lbs. We can say that both tigers and lions are the biggest. In captivity tigers tend to gain more weight than lions. There are a lot more obese tigers than lions. Now about the tiger hunting. Tigers are not strikers like lions. tigers are grabbers. Most scientific books will tell you tigers are no chasers. It fact tigers quit easily, they are not as tenacious as lions. Lions are far more physical and used a lot more muscles power in hunts than tigers. The lion's roar is deeper than the tiger's roar and would travel in a further distance. Most tiger/lion or lion/tiger hybrids don't survived. The ones that do will probably have serious congenital problems. hybrids won't survived in the wild. The male lion growing genes is superior to the male tiger. The Liger are bigger than the tigon. Warning anybody can write on Wikipedia is not a true encyclopedia.

Ross Wind lion fanboys always sound so annoying. Tiger prays alone and it can hunt the biggest wild cattle name gaur. A famous Tiger name machli was reported hunting a crocodile measuring 20 feet alone. Thats why I said lion fan boys are just making themselves silly.
