Cutest nightly raptors

I think screech owls are another species of birds on my list of favorites now.

I can hear an eastern screech owl at night and early in the morning, here in Ontario. It has to be pretty quiet to hear them.. At first I thought I was hearing frogs lol

What about Acanthamoeba? It's a microscopic creature that feeds on the tissue in human eyeballs, which often leads to blindness. Great creation!

We have some type of screech owls around our house here in Texas..not sure if it's western or eastern. It roosts during the day in a Red Oak tree. It's feathers are sort of reddish/brown and it blends in with the tree. It's camaflouge is so good, if you don't look really hard, you don't see them. They seem to hunt at night........We started with one last year, and now there are about three of them. They are so cool !

I have one hanging out in my back yard. For the longest time, I had no clue what was making that sound. He/she has been out almost every night for a month or so, in the trees in my backyard, hooting a lot. I'm curious, why do they hoot all night? Are they calling other owls? I love the little owl and want to learn more. I hope he sticks around for a while. He seems quite tame. I can watch him from only 20 feet away and he doesn't seem to mind at all. I am in Central Texas, BTW. Thanks for the informative video.

How often do the screech owl eat?

In BEAVER, PENNSYLVANIA in may 2017 we were walking the dog around 10 pm at night at a park in the woods, we heard a weird snoring animal sound, our dog was acting scared, we thought a bear was asleep in the bushes snoring, we got scared, then my husband screamed ist an OOOWWWLLL, then we saw 5 of them hanging out, mating season ?

Oh I thought screech owls were bigger than that. How old is Milo?
