All 50 Countries in EUROPE Ranked WORST to BEST

Ranking EVERY Country in Europe from WORST to BEST!
We Ranked the Top 50 Best AND Worst Countries to live in Europe for 2024, and while you know many of the popular places, like France, Italy, Germany, and Spain, there are 50 Countries on the continent in total! Find out where to move to in Europe, and which have the best cities & small towns!
➽ Join our OFFICIAL Discord Server!: / discord
Europe is a VERY diverse continent, with hundreds of cultures, languages, and types of cities and scenery packed into a small area! While neighboring states in the USA aren't that different from one another, the difference between many European Countries is stark!
So if you're trying to homestead and buy cheap land, OR live in a big walkable city with plenty of amenities, OR just visit the continent by rail, Europe has you covered!... These countries have MANY crowded AND empty areas. So my biggest suggestion is to visit these cities, towns, and countries before you decide where you want to move to and live!

We're incredibly pressured by a housing crisis, a severely inadequate health service, cost of living crisis and a government that doesn't care about any of these problems. We shouldn't even be top 15 on this list. This list must be skewed in favour of the money funelled through huge tech multinationals who set up in Dublin because of the low corporate tax rate.

Relatively good economy, nice weather for most part of the year, I like the melody of the language, food is great. For anybody considering migrating to any of those countries, please be aware these aren't the only factors that determine the quality of life in a place. I'm a German that lived in Italy and has been living in Greece for many years. There are things we can't measure easily that influence how satisfied you'll be in a new country like how compatible you are with their culture or how easy it is to make friends, difficulty level of the local language, foods available, bureaucracy, how to locals view your home country, job opportunities for foreigners, ... If you like living close to the sea and are an extrovert, Austria and Switzerland will make you feel miserable. If you are a vegan, the less westernised a country is, the more difficult it is to find vegan options. Also consider that places like Germany, Sweden or Ireland might offer a good job market and strong economy, but very difficult housing situation. The weather also really is important. Not everyone can deal with cloudy, rainy weather on 250 days a year or with the winter darkness in the north.

There really are very few places that have great climate for me. Sweden (except its southern part and coastlines) is almost perfect. I prefer real winter with snow and ice for months. But the most important part is that summers don't go higher than 25° (it's rare in Sweden). Summers are ok in Ireland and as far down south as the Netherlands, but there is no winter there. Long winter nights are not a problem for me. I am more concerned with bright summer nights in the North. That is why I wouldn't choose the northern part of Sweden. Somewhere between Örebro and Östersund should be great.

Ireland is a great example of why statistics if not understood completely and in context can be deceiving. Many Irish are leaving their own country and they are certainly not happy with the way they have been managed as a whole. Many of them are actually struggling economically despite having such a high GDP per capita (distorted by big corporations based in that country). GDP wealth in Ireland doesn’t represent real wealth.

Yes, the narrator didn't say anything about that when mentioning Poland, did he? In fact, I seem to remember he said Britain was the only European country with 'free healthcare' as he termed it. (Of course, it's never actually free, as the people pay for it indirectly via taxes!!) We also used to have a 'free' healthcare system in the Netherlands which was abolished in 2006 (I think) by a totally malevolent cretin named Hoogervorst who at that time was minister of Public Health. He falsely claimed that the expenses for individual citizens would plummet due to 'competition' among the healthcare insurers and 'the workings of the market' and more of the same crap. Needless to say, the expenses didn't plummet. They skyrocketed. With the result that we probably now have one of the very worst healthcare systems in Europe.

I'm from the Netherlands and moved to southern Spain a little over a year ago.... so I moved "down the ladder" theoretically. 🤣 My life in the Netherlands was not bad at all... But I dreaded the 6 months of cold rainy "fall" weather each year and I wanted to live somewhere more relaxed, less crowded and have nice weather year-round. So far it's been great, I have no regrets. In the end it all boils down to personal preference and what you want out of life. ✌

Well, I moved from the Netherlands to Malta 23 years ago. Even further down the ladder, so to say. We have better weather than Spain. 🙂 While it can be scorching hot, especially now with global warming, the sea moderates a great deal, and we NEVER have snow. You wouldn't think of the Netherlands as crowded if you lived in Malta. The population density is about 3.5 times that of the Netherlands. Even the Randstad doesn't come close to the average population density of Malta. One thing that I did learn, though, is that the Dutch complain way too much about their own country. Everything is well organised, they have the best roads in Europe, they have the best (and most expensive) healthcare in Europe. Would I move back to the Netherlands? No. Once you've lived abroad long enough, there will come a day where you realise that you and your native country have drifted apart. You realise that you're getting older, that travel isn't as easy as it once was, and that the number of times that you'll meet your parents in person can be counted on the fingers of at most two hands. But you're not really an integral part of your adoptive country either. And that yields some very fundamental questions about what you really are. Migrating can be very enriching, but it's not to be taken lightly. And that, again, is something that many Dutch don't quite realise.

@@SeverityOne Funny you mention living in Malta, I have actually been there twice, so yes I KNOW how crowded it is haha! Also one of the reasons I wouldn't move there (also because it is a small island and I'd feel a little limited in my abilities to explore and drive long distances to other places or countries). Weather wise, well I live close to Alicante and we have probably one of the sunniest climates in Europe, so I doubt Malta will have more sunny weather 😜 But yea I agree it is a big step to migrate and it has its consequences, for sure.

@@omniradius6908 Hey, I said the best weather, not the sunniest. Although Wikipedia lists a considerably higher number of sunshine hours for Malta than Alicante. Overall, it lists Malta is being a bit warmer and sunnier than Alicante. And contrary to some random website, Wikipedia cites sources. It makes sense, though: Malta is one of the southernmost places in Europe, roughly at the same parallel as Gibraltar. Having said that, sunnier isn't necessarily better, as far as I'm concerned. You can't really go out in summer, and in fact, many people in Malta suffer from vitamin D deficiency.

The South half of the UK gets loads of incredible weather as well (aka NOT Scotland / N. Ireland). The south half & the north half of the UK are 2 separate countries when it comes to weather. South half of UK = more often beautiful and gorgeous sunny weather than anything else, (you just simply stay away from the far north west). Furthermore, if you're anywhere in the central, south and east, it's more likely to be borderline drought / drought weather some of the time in spring - fall, especially in the heatwave prone central, east & south in spring / summer. There's even plenty of winter sunshine days to be had in the south half split of the UK as well, plus increasingly warmer winter days, before we even start to talk about the more drought prone, borderline semi-arid south east of the country that could run out of water in the fairly near future. There's nothing quite like a spring / summer's day in the UK, trees in full bloom included, because it really is the very best place one could wish to ever be during that weather. Then, of course for the best weather, you have got the central & south and south west of the country, the Riviera and the sunshine south coast, where the sunshine occurs more year round and Indian summers abound in the Mediterranean micro-climate SW area of the country. The clearly dumb obvious troll maker of this video has shown the classic & complete opposite to actual reality misinformation bias, aka a dumb, emotional inferiority complex towards the UK, not based on the actual reality whatsoever. In the end all it simply does is show how monumentally dumb & misinformed the people that make them actually are.

Thanks for info. I live in Czech Republic and was surprised that we have less sunshine than London. Problem here is that in late autumn, temperature inversions are getting common, first they start as morning fogs, then fog stays longer, than it turn into almost permanent heavy overcast and sun being low over horizon does not help. So in November and December, we have 40 hours of sunlight per month on average. Everything is moist, but by rainfall these months are the most dry - water just does not evaporate. In winter towards spring it gets progressively better, but sometimes weather in March in April is still somewhat cold, rainy and cloudy - this April feels like May and March and February were very warm for that part of the year. Summer is warm and dry in general, but by rainfall it's the opposite - one thunderstorm or cold front can bring more rain than light drizzle in November. I never been to UK, but It's weird it's famous for rain, whereas here winters could be wonderful (with snow and sun), but heavy overcast with cloud base 100m above ground level, mud and temperatures close to zero are closer to reality and it feels like only true winters in last 20 years were 2010, 2006 and 2005 and snow is getting rare even on highlands.

I come from Belgium, travelled - lived and worked a lot in northern and western Europe. Most of the french people never traveled outside the country (or it was for holidays in a frenchspeaking part of the world...) and had almost no idea of living conditions ellswhere in Europe! Very strange... And that didn't change a lot! The west coast of Norway is affected by the Gulf Stream with its føn wind, so that the warm and humid wind causes the most rain in Bergen in Europe (more than 200 rainy days per year). The same føn wind appears in Finland as dry and warm when moisture has rained on the Norwegian coast and mountains, so Norway is a wet and windy country and the amount of daylight is the same and even less in northern Norway than anywhere else in Finland.

Depression is indeed an important aspect to consider when discussing Iceland and its quality of life. Several factors might contribute to higher rates of depression in Iceland: Long, Dark Winters: Due to its northern location, Iceland experiences very long and dark winters. The lack of sunlight can increase the risk of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a type of depression. Isolation: Iceland's geographical isolation can lead to feelings of loneliness and isolation for some individuals. This can be especially true for immigrants or those living in remote areas. Climatic Conditions: The harsh climate and extreme weather conditions can impact general well-being and contribute to lower mood levels. Genetic Factors: Some studies suggest that genetic factors may play a role in the prevalence of depression in certain populations, and Iceland has a relatively homogenous population, which facilitates genetic studies. Economic and Social Factors: Economic fluctuations, social isolation, and other socio-economic factors can also contribute to the mental health of the population.

Montenegro is an independent Country with its own language (Montenegrin), whereas Ohio is just a State, part of a Country. They speak English in Ohio (at least very basic English), don't they? Can you grasp the difference between a US State and an independent Country, genius? You are hopeless and have just proved Matti's point.@@haroldcampbell3337

What's the point of living in country no. 1, 2 or 3 and being bored to death? The country in Europe that will have the highest life expectancy in the future is Spain. I wonder why that might be? Perhaps people here are simply happier and don't make such a big issue of it? And the happiest people live in Finland? The high suicide rate doesn't fit in with this.

Interesting list. While I do like Iceland, it's currency is extremely weak and everything costs an arm and a leg. Also, volcanoes.

I'm not sure what criteria you used to rank the 50 European countries in your video. While I appreciate the effort you put into making this video, I don't agree with your ranking. For example, you ranked Iceland and Finland as the best countries to live in, but I would never choose them because of the harsh climate. I much prefer countries with a warmer climate, like Spain or Italy. I think it's important to remember that everyone has different preferences when it comes to choosing a place to live. What's best for one person might not be best for another. I would encourage viewers to do their own research and decide for themselves which European country is right for them. Here are some questions to consider when making your decision: What climate do you prefer? What is your budget? What kind of lifestyle do you want? What are your job prospects? What are your cultural preferences? Once you've considered these factors, you'll be in a better position to choose the best European country for you.

For normal man/woman the best country is his/her homeland, he loves it and don't so much care if some prices or services are lower or higher of its neighbors. He/she is not some kind of economical immigrant or tourist. If there are better examples, he tries to learn from them and to develop his country to the same or higher level, not to start packing her bags and to run to the "better place".

@zasmirko100: that is not true of everyone. I know people here who immigrated from other countries because they dislike or hate the country they were born in. This includes myself. I am now a proud naturalised citizen of the country which I migrated to 50 years ago, and which I love with all my heart. I loathe the country I had the misfortune to be born in.

I mean it’s true when considering businesses. If you fail there’s a fairly robust safety net to rely on and the business taxes are fairly good. For the average worker tho, yeah no.

Visually Switzerland has the most breathtaking views. It is full of the most incredible looking lakes and rivers that have the most beautiful colors and shades of blue. I've seen many turquoise lakes and you can pretty much swim freely everywhere. The mountains have divers shapes and heights and you come across them everywhere you go. And in summer the colors of the landscapes look like heaven. It's safe and it's clean. I've ever seen one photo of anything in Iceland looking as beautiful as the nature does in Switzerland.

Look, this guy hasn't even been to ANY part of Europe. He's just reading a load of stupid stats he found on the web over some random clips he probably grabbed via Google searches (and probably didn't pay or get copyright clearance for) which is why his clip of Luxembourg includes the Jardin de Luxembourg in Paris, France! When my dad was helping promote tourism in Denmark we went to lots of fascinating and quirky little museums, though my favourite, the Mekanisk Musik Museum in Copenhagen, no longer exists. Many happy memories of travelling over on the DFDS 'liners' like Winston Churchill and Dana Anglia, kransekage, Albani beer... etc.

Denmark is nice, but nature wise, there is very little to see, compared to some others. Yes, the west coast is nice, and island-hopping can be fun, but once you've seen one island and one beach, you've seen it all. Basically no diversity. No mountains. Not even hills.
